Is there a way to update/rectify NIN biometrics issues in UK.

I am unable to verify my NIN while filling passport renewal form. After the back and forth, was told my fingerprint capture was not successful during registration. Most NIN centres in UK only process new registrations.

Any idea on how I can update my NIN fingerprint?

Just heard an unfortunate insurance void incident.....

Driver was compliant on all fronts (or so he thought)....

Driving licence + Valid MOT + Road Taxed + valid insurance..... Driver had an accident, insurance company recovered his vehicle, to evaluate damage.....

After inspection, his insurance was voided.....

REASON : Two front tyres, below legal limit......

Because you have a valid MOT certificate, still physically inspect your vehicles......
Is this not something that can be contested if it was not mentioned as an issue or advisory on the last service/MOT? More so if the driver has not covered significant miles since then

A car can pass it's MOT test, with tyre thread depth of 1.6MM (this would be advised)...

Any tyre below 1.6 MM, would be refused an MOT certificate....

Unfortunately, the insurance company would blame anything blameable, to avoid paying out. So the onus is on the insured, to ensure...... Everything correct..... 😁😂

Hehe..
Experienced same when I had a crash.

My tires were a bit low a d mentioned on my service but not there yet. When it happened, I was quite worried of them checking.

But I think the company are just trying to wriggle out. If it was an advisory, he can take it up with them especially if he had not driven thousands of miles afterwards.

I remember telling u then when I had to drag with my insurers abt not informing DVLA abt my change of address. Good enough, I had informed the insurance company. They wanted to cut £200 from my payout for something I could do freely online and something that wouldn't have had an impact on my payout. I kept refusing the payout. After some dragging, I got my full payout.

Insurance dey sweet during payout finally.

In other unrelated news, I just had a look at EB1A requirements as a Dr I know is tired of the UK and its immigration rhetoric (surprise surprise) and it does seem like the UK went to copy and paste their Global Talent visa requirements from there or should we say modelled after it

shocked

Still waiting to see changes to the GTV they said were coming anyways
They have a surface resemblance because both may use evidence of achievement and recognition, but they are separate systems with different legal tests.

EB-1A requires either a qualifying one-time achievement or evidence meeting at least three listed criteria, followed by a final-merits review of whether the record as a whole shows sustained acclaim and that the person is among the small percentage at the top of the field. The UK Global Talent route uses its own endorsement or eligible-prize framework.

Some documents may be useful in both applications, but an argument built for one should not be copied into the other. The evidence has to be mapped to the exact test of the route being used.

So you are saying tyres got advisories, same vehicle was involved in an accident, insurance company attributing accident to bald tyres......... And voided insurance policy......

You now want to take your fight to the test centre for what exactly ? Because you have only done 20 miles since the test and you want to hold them liable ......... grin grin

Just read your insurance companies small prints....... Everywhere go blur ....... grin

Can't remember the numbers fully, but I think it went up from about £700 to about £1,150. Also, bear in mind I moved to an electric vehicle, which tend out to have higher insurance costs eitherway.

Not the test centre but insurance company. There should be a way to challenge them denying an insurance claim. Afterall, what does he stand to lose?

This is really insightful. I like the way he breaks down the issues tracing it back to the circumstances surrounding how each group arrived in the UK, the cultural backgrounds etc.

True. The cohorts that migrate and the struggles they face initially almost always have far-reaching effects in terms of attainment. Legal migration today into the UK is highly selective, and it doesn't surprise me that this would fit into attainment.

Also, if you look at the past and see the struggles and issues with racism, that really put a ceiling on what blacks could achieve for a while. This is the main reason why I'm very particular are macro changes that limit attainment.

What I find surprising is that despite attainment among kids in Caribbean communities lagging behind their West African counterparts, this tends to balance out once they get into uni. I wonder if self-selection is playing a role here again, as those who get into uni will already be academic.

Yes, I also suspect self-selection as a factor, plus possibly having survived against all odds (racism, being put down, being told off etc) from primary through secondary school. By the time they get to uni, they would have attained some level of self-awareness and confidence that can withstand all sorts and ensure they hold their own.

You want to challenge the insurance company, when in the small prints you signed, as a condition to them selling you a policy.....

You agreed that your vehicle would be mechanically sound, as a pre-condition to their policy......😂

They probably also sent you pictures of your very bald tyres...... 😁😘

I am afraid that this rarely describes Worcester of today, except for a few.

Ticha:
I lived in Worcester for almost 10 years. It used to be a small backwater city. It's cheap university and proximity to Birmingham has seen it balloon in population. It's still a relatively quiet and lovely city. Everything still shuts down between after 7pm so nothing has changed in that respect!
It also has a mainline station. There are lots of Nigerians there and I hear they have a Nigerian association as well.
Schools are good if you have children too.
Cost of living is same as everywhere else - I was shocked looking at rentals. I should have bought a house there! Can't speak for jobs but when I lived there, I worked in Birmingham and commuted so you have access to the 2nd largest city in the UK

Bro…not really, you are likely to find a Jamaican in prison than in full time education, holding a permanent job or in a long time marriage
