Shaykh Hassan Al Kettani a famous Islamic scholar says there's no need for muslim men to lower their gaze if a woman is either old or black because they are not deemed attractive to cause a man to feel sexual temptations.

He was reading from a classic Shariah law text:

al-Waghlīsī’s al-Muqaddima al-Waghlīsiyya, p. 59-60) is:

ولا يجوز للشاب الأجنبي النظر إلى الوجه خوف الفتنة، إلا أن تكون عجوزا أو سوداء ونحوها

Translation:
“It is not permitted for a young unrelated man to look at the face out of fear of temptation (fitna), except if she is an elderly woman or a black woman and the like.”

The Shaykh's interpretation has generated a lot of reactions.

Al-Muqaddima al-Waghlīsiyya is a famous short introductory text on Māliki jurisprudence, Islamic creed, and spiritual purification written by the 14th-century Algerian scholar ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Waghlīsī (died 1384 CE). It served for centuries as a foundational staple for students across North Africa and West Africa before advancing to more advanced texts.

I notice it did not include minors or white women in the list of women who cannot cause sexual attraction. Again, very interesting..

I never said anywhere that it comes from the koran. I pointed out that it is from a Shariah law text.

See your level of ignorance. You don't need to put mouth if you don't know. Your own Shariah law supercedes your own Koran not our Holy Qur'an ( the main source of Shariah law)
