TheSuperNerd:This victory was so sweet, so remarkable, so significant. The truth however is that as the year goes by the significance pales into the dim shadows of time. We need fresh legends ooo for those who didn't witness the momentousness of Atlanta 96. 30 years on, it's looking like a stale achievements particularly given that it was an age grade competition. |

Mujtahida:Yes Thomas Nkono was a great keeper and one of the bests in the world during his era, really surprised he was omitted. He was in goal in Espana 82 World Cup and was solid,Cameroon didn't lose any match but failed to qualify from group stage, fact he had two clean sheets. He was a starter in Afcon 84 hosted by Ivory Coast, kept in two matches, left the competition due to club engagement, and Antoine Bell replaced him.He made 1990 WC as a starter but was a back up to Antoine Bell in 1994 WC.It was good rivalry between him and Antoine Bell in Cameroon national team, the two are reliable, later Jacques Songo joined, three solid keepers. Thomas Nkono a legend with Espanol, kept for the club from 1982-1990,later joined Club Bolivar 1993-1997. APOTY winner 1979 and 1982 |

Who remembers Chiegozie Obasi,oh listening to that boy interview I shed tear, abegi footballer eyes dey see o. The interview was done in Yoruba language and for the first time am seeing a full Igbo boy wey sabi Yoruba language wella,I meant real undiluted Yoruba. The boy eyes see shege, our young players need to be careful with agent, agent ruined his career....the boy talked a lot and talked good about Kelechi Iheanacho,Taiwo Awoniyi and Chidibere Nwakali. I will try and get in touch with Awoniyi to help his colleague wella, not about money but how he can be reintegrated into football circle, not necessarily as a player but in other capacity. |

Grassrunners flex: Angelo Agbejoye to Djurgardens IF, Sweden They have Abdou Agbejoye in the Flying Eagles team and has been tracked by Skysports Germany. Now Godwin Itotomi to Reims. The Football Academy is doing well. They reached the 2025/26 U19 National Youth League Super 8 Final so they are really solid. Papi85: |

TheSuperNerd:At bolded, until this solidity translates to us Qualifying from WAFU zone u17s and u20s qualifiers, then all our Academies deserve no commendations. Haba, since regional qualifiers started few years back, we can't even qualify for age grades FIFA tournaments anymore. So what exactly are you hyping? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Philosopher1979: 4:18am On Aug 04 |
realpoacher:SEE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS FOR THESE YOUTH PLAYERS TO MAKE IT UP TO SENIOR LEVEL. AND THEY ARE DOING SO. ONE ABUBAKER IS IN FAMALICAO AND ANOTHER MIDFIELDER JUST JOINED THE PORTUGUES LEAGUE. IT WONT MATTER TOO MUCH IF THEY WON YOUTH COMPETITIONS AND THEN FADED INTO OBLIVION. WE HAVE HAD THAT MANY MANY MANY TIMES IN THE PAST. RABIU IBHRAHIM, THE SO CALLED NEW KANU (MUAZUM) ETC ETC. THESE BOYS SEEM TO BE MAKING IT AT SENIOR LEVEL AND THAT IS VERY GOOD. I MEAN ZADOK YOHANNA IN BRIGHTON IS AN EXAMPLE. I LOVE AND RESPECT YOUTH FOOTBALL BUT ITS JUST DEVELOPMENTAL. IF THEY MAKE IT TO SENIOR LEVEL, THAT IS THE KOKO. THE FAILED U17 ARE NOT A WASTE. SOME OF THEM ARE MAKING GOOD PROGRESS. I MEAN WE DEFEAT TEAMS AT U20 LEVEL BUT THESE TEAMS WE DEFEAT WIN THE WORLD CUP WITH SOME OF THEIR PLAYERS WHILE OUR OWN JUST GO INTO OBLIVION. FOOTBALL ACADEMY SEEMS TO HAVE A MORE LASTING IMPACT THAN YOUTH COMPETITIONS FOR ME. |

You are very ignorant because since the regionals began, Nigeria U20s have been Champions in 2022 and 2024 at the Wafu B. We also went to the U20 World Cup in 2023 and 2025. So what ignorant nonsense are you spewing?? Look, dont ever come to my mention and babble ignorant nonsense again in the manner you just did, you hear me. Also, how is it hype to talk about another Academy's good works so far? Or are you trying to be a hater?? When I talk about BLFA, Sporting Lagos FA, FC Ebedei, Right2Win and co, it is not hype but for Grassrunners, it is hype?? Better face front and be quiet since you have nothing intelligent to say. realpoacher: |

It is indicated on their site via the twitter/X post link that it is their reserve team and a loan deal (akin to Bara Sapoko Ndiaye from Gambinos to Bayern). So ofcourse, that is obvious. jihday: |

Leave that ignorant noisemaker. Even Yan Diomande that is headed to Real Madrid, featured for an Ivorian U17 side that failed to qualify for the 2023 U17 Afcon from the 2022 Wafu B. They lost to Nigeria, 2-1 in the WafuB semis. Did that stop his rise? On one hand, making it all the way to the Age grade WCs is great especially because it is indeed a fine platform for talents. Nigeria has done that at U20s in the last 2 editions since these regionals begun but then, on the other hand, it is no guarantee that you will make the jump to Brighton in the EPL like Zadok Yohanna or secure a record move to Real Madrid like Yan Diomande. Both lads did not showcase at any age grade World Cup. Different paths to the top. Philosopher1979: |

Naija 🇳🇬 in 2026 Swedish Allsvenskan 20y/o Odera Adindu played 68mins from the start in Sirius' 2-0 away win at Halmstads BK. They are stil unbeaten in the league after 15 games (13 wins, 2 draws) and top the table. 18y/o Angelo Agbejoye did not play but saw the game of his new team Djurgardens IF in their 6-0 win over Västerås SK. He's been active with the Djurgardens U19s where he's bagged about 3 goals in as many games. He linked up with former Grassrunners FC trainee, 20y/o Bonaventure Lendambi of Congo who joined Vasteras straight from Grassrunners. Lendambi came off the bench to play 45mins for Vasteras in their loss. Pic below post match... Angelo Agbejoye 🇳🇬 x Bona Lendambi 🇨🇬
