Big men left the mainland for safety and created their own ecosystem on the Island.

The bad boys they ran away from on the mainland are now in every corner and every hole on the Island. They are on the Coastal Road, at bus stops, and around event centres.

They no longer beg for money. They surround your car in numbers and tell you their price. If you think it's a joke, your side mirror could be trading at the spare parts market within the next hour.

"The children of the poor you failed to train will never let your children have peace."

Sadly, this type of unfortunate incident is fast raising unchecked.
Sometimes, they damage your headlights or taillights and even scraping your car with sharp metallic objects and they disappear just like that and no one will stand with you to question their actions.

There are street boys in all states in Nigeria but the difference between other states and Lagos,is that miscreants operate with fear in other states and are always arrested and dealth with.
While in Lagos Alaye boys(street urchins) operate with reckless abandon,they have sense of entitlement,they allegedly have the backings of the government,they seem to be encouraged in Lagos because they are mostly useful during elections,in a bid to preserve a particular man's tight grip on governance of Lagos. They area boys are gradually taking over Lagos,they forcefully collect money from residents,they scare visitors away with their shameless and forceful begging.
In Lagos any well connected Alaye is adored and respected,they move with pride and sense of ownership of Lagos.
Is a big shame!
Lagos seems though like a system state that encourages street boyism and miscreants.

They are the reason why other political parties have not succeeded in Lagos State.

There is a proper and organized avenue to project your philanthropy. The street you long to live you will keep making you pay. It’s a parasitic relationship, you have to keep paying for the “love”.
