Am i the only one who feels this salary increase for the army doesn't makes sense at this time?

Nigeria currently has an overbloated recurrent expenditure that needs to be reduced,the government needs to reduce the cost of running government.
What we need now is closing down duplicate parastatals and agencies, reducing salaries of political office holders and civil servants.

More increase in salaries of civil servants and political office holders gives room for more budget deficits and more debts.

Only those with sound economic background would understand the point I am raising.

Ghost workforce elimination is of higher priority.
Also re-aligning the army to serve a secular state and not islamic-inclined one should equally get higher priority.

These are the people protecting your life against kidnappers, terrorists, and boko haram. Go and close all the agencies you want but our soldiers deserve this and more. It's an eyesore and terrible outlook that the nation was paying them 48k basic salary before now. 180k is a step up. It's commendable but they deserve more.

Don't say this outside sha. You self listen to the reason you said they don't deserve a salary increase. If the FG want self, they can shut down the superhighways construction, but don't deny those putting their lives on the line for the nation decent living.

I don't understand how Nigerians' brain are wired. Soldiers deserve more respect than your politicians and are treated as such in other countries. It's only here where people, who can't handle a knife or defend themselves against mosquitoes, treat our military guys like rags. This has to stop.

If na doctors or nurses salary dem increase, you won't give this reason.
