While I was in university, I knew some foreign students who were from Gambia on scholarship to study law. Interestingly they all graduated with first class because they were very very good. |

Yes. Cameroonians:1) One studied Agriculture in Taraba polytechnic 2) Medicine in UNILAG, now in Israel 3) One in Ebonyi university Many Cameroonians fantasize about sitting for JAMB even though they have GCE O & A levels results. Several Liberians came during turbulent times in Liberia in early 2000 and some attended our universities. |

| Re: Do Foreigners Come To Nigerian Higher Institutions To School? by ChiefS(m): 5:22am On Aug 11 |
Yes foreigners still come to Nigerian Universities to study. The number may not be as much as before. At UNILAG you will see some Chinese students. I have personally taught two Cameroonians who did their Masters degree with us. |

BarrElChapo:Many of you are just happy to run down your country out of sheer stupidity and ignorance. Have you ever wondered how come same Nigerians who survived our universities excel all over the world? Many who traveled outside the country for study will tell you it is harder and tougher home than many other countries. In other some west African countries like Benin, Ivory Coast etc, you will see a 2 or three story building named and approve as university. But in your extremely limited knowledge, you condemn what you should be proud of. Only a questionable child denigrate his father's achievements in public |

Hi ebubeson:During my days in uniport, we had students from Niger and Cameroon |
| Re: Do Foreigners Come To Nigerian Higher Institutions To School? by BarrElChapo(m): 6:01am On Aug 11 |
bayplus:There's nothing to denigrate. It is a simple question, do foreigners come to Nigeria for their university education, Yes or No ? Is there any Briton somewhere thinking that to study about Africa's history for example, that Nigeria is the best place for them in 2026 ? The same Nigeria where people in their late 30s like myself weren't taught one story about Nigerias history in-depth apart from the dates in current affairs. Mind you I have a doctor friend who is a lecturer and a head of department at Harvard, who struggled so much in med school at UNN, who told me personally that the Nigerian educational system is built to make students fail using his struggles as an example. I don't have any qualms but a system where striking is the only way to get government to pay them or find them for the basic, tells anyone that's it is messed up. No foreign will come. |

Yes! While at OAU. We had foreigners from Germany, USA, Togo, Ghana etc |
| Re: Do Foreigners Come To Nigerian Higher Institutions To School? by placeofallure(f): 6:16am On Aug 11 |
They do. At my university, where I studied, we even had white lecturers from France, Germany, etc. Even in the school where I teach now, we have Chinese, Indian, Senegalese, Pakistani, English, Beninese, and French pupils. Nigeria is not as bad as you are projecting. Many of you want things handed to you on a silver platter. Of course, we can do better, a lot better, but, hey! We are not as bad. |

doctore212:How old are you? |
| Re: Do Foreigners Come To Nigerian Higher Institutions To School? by KingAzubuike(f): 6:22am On Aug 11 |
Yes they do. Education is quite cheap here even for foreigners. Unilorin use to have a lot of Cameroonians studying medicine there as at 7-10 years back. You'd also find some Lebanese, Bangladesh, Nepal folks in some departments. A handful of Chinese and Asians used to study in unilag too. You'd find them mainly in international relations. |

Covenant University does not publish an exact, real-time live count of its current international student body, but institutional data indicates it hosts more than 80 international students from various countries. This is answer I got from Google There is no exact public total for the precise number of foreign students currently enrolled at Afe Babalola University (ABUAD). The university regularly admits international students from countries like the United Kingdom and others, but it publishes total overall student enrollment numbers (roughly 8,500 to 9,000+ students) rather than a specific breakdown of its foreign student population. Around 1,856 international learners in Nigeria higher education. |

Yes they do. Who dey ask this question sef? During my university days, we used to have them, Chinese and some local oyibos. These were the ones their parents lives and work in nigeria. The only difference is that they don't study hard and good courses. But OP, I know where you're going to. Like, "can anyone from any country seek for admission in a foreign country, come be nigeria"? The answer is capital NO.😌 We have lost interest in our government, they're not doing anything. Yours faithfully ![]() |

| Re: Do Foreigners Come To Nigerian Higher Institutions To School? by samwash(m): 7:22am On Aug 11 |
They are black Africans international students studying in Nigeria but because they are black you hardly noticed them except for their accent. But if you are looking for white international students, you hardly see them only for few Indians , Lebanese, the fraction of white students are very small. I don't think I have met or seen European or Americans there, even as expatriate it's just a small faction of them. |

KingAzubuike:People from Southern Cameroun are actually our cousins. Their culture is very similar to the Ibibio and Efik who live in Akwa Ibom and Cross River States. They live in cities just across our borders in the states I have mentioned and in Adamawa State. Naturally, they will study in Nigerian Universities. |
