With subsidy or without it, government will still borrow money to budget its ostentatious life styles
all the borrowing goes to politicians pocket. Let them cut down all political expenses and see how the borrowing will stop

Yes, you are correct. Tinubu has borrowed more, because he and his government have not taken measures to reduce the borrowing, which is why he is not fit to be voted back into office come 2027.

The point is, bringing back subsidy means that the borrowing happening now would be tripled over. If you think it is bad, and it is bad, it would be worse with the restoration of subsidy
with the kind of trap Tinubu has set, nobody can bring back subsidy, rather they will set templates that will make the masses feel the joy of their government. Tinubu own, he removed subsidy, devalued naira, and still want to kill the masses with enormous taxes 🙄 😑 and yet he's still paying subsidy. 🙄

What are you doing to scatter the country since southern presidents would have done 17 years against only 11 years of northern presidents next year?
I'm talking about Fulani, not northern president.

It is not a trap.

The problem with your governments, not just tinubu, is that they do not want to diversify the economy, industrialize the economy and collect tax from the majority of nigerians

Hence the borrowing

As for subsidy, it was not sustainable by 1990. Nigerians refused to remove it then, and that led to us being where we are now. 2012 was our last chance, but tinubu said no, but then again, so did most nigerians. Here we are

Subsidy is not coming back, unless it is a production subsidy.

Subsidy and borrowing are two separate and at the same time two intertwined matters.

What you can't do in 10 years, you did it in one month. You need to tell us more about it. We want to hear
What my company brings in a month is my four years salary,is a fact.i don't need to say otherwise.

I can't spill my secret anymore. Remember I used to say it raw then, but I can't do that anymore.

Every business has a secret, and I will do everything to keep mine.

This is the problem with u guys, the white man's language u are copying, have u ever ask yourself if any white man can write ur language even after colonising Nigeria for 46years?

This is the same way they told u that Mungo Park discovered River Niger and u believed them.

Obj successfully privatised Nigeria Farm and renamed to Obasanjo Farm.

anonimi:
The business friendly, deregulation and privatisation focused Atiku did it before with Obasanjo, laying the groundwork for 16 years of economic growth, widespread prosperity, peace and security. He will do it again.

If it was left to Obasanjo, he would have continued his military era government ownership of businesses and peasant farming under Operation Feed the Nation, OFN.

I resigned last month from my Federal job after 10years and 8 months too.

Salary is just #208,977.

At level 12.

Let me face my future now than never.

I am dropping this here to encourage all of us to start up something.

I was able to do this because I started something that pays more.

I sat down and peep into my future and decided to do this and I am glad I did.
Is because you work in a place where Haram money (bribery and corruption)

There is no corrupt free civil servant, every civil servant is in one way or the other breaking the law in order to make ends meet with the meager pay.
This is the reason for the massive looting in the civil service cuz the pension is a joke compared to some "special" civil servants like NNPC, CBN, DMO etc.
The inflation rate is far higher than the pay hence the corruption in the service
That 125k you mentioned is for a Director level now imagine what the state civil servants earn cheesy
The retired "special" civil servants can go home with what an active civil servant get as take home
Blood Zachariah! In which agency?

The average civil servant is completely broken down and beaten....collecting 74k after serving the country for 35years!
The elite keep it that way as a tool of control.
Not in places like NNPC take note please

The person has refused to disclose information that would have made for accurate information and meaningful contributions.
Firstly, the poster is a medical doctor and a senior medical officer going by his salary grade. Some one on CONMESS 14 doesn't earn less than 600k a month.
The federal government operates contributory pension scheme and this is the problem. But in states where the scheme is not applicable, people who retire at that grade level don't earn less than 300k in pension per month.
My point is: Medical officers earn the best of salaries in the Nigerian public service.
The op knew he will earn less in pension when he retires, why did he opt for retirement when he could have stayed to enjoy his salary
N600k that an entry-level Marketing Associate will earn at Nestle?

He has done the best, by leaving the job now. At retirement, he can’t hustle again.

There’s nothing in civil service, other than olè-jíjà. Nothing; I repeat it.

You get 75k for doing nothing now and you still dey complain after collecting about 400k per month for 10 years with the nonchalant attitude most of you do the civil service work that you resume work at 11am drink tea for 1 hour, walk around gossiping for another 2 hours and then at close by 2pm to your private business without sitting at your offical desk for more than 1 hour to do government that gets you sone kickback and then you get access to car loan, house loan and retire with huge gratuity and you still dey complain. Maybe you should ask the people who worked at private companies how far and those who were more qualified than you but don't know anybody or money to get themselves fix into the government work the way you got in how far now.

The civil service is the center of corruption in Nigeria and gets the most money of the country. So stop collecting it if it is nothingto you.
No wonder the moment they retire they become beggars

My spouses father is a retired soldier and retired as a corporal......his monthly pension just got increased to 93k from 70k and he has been getting it regularly since last October.

So how can a level 10 civil servant say he is earning 74k,he should come out and tell us how much his gratuity was......i know someone who retired @grade level 12 as far back as 2010 and he got 12m in gratuity.
Its all depends on the ministry/agency one retired. A colleague of mine retired on level 14 with a gratuity of 4m and 49k pension.

Dont let anyone deceive, even if every dime is accounted for, paying generous pensions is unadfordable.

First of all, the civil service in all local governmenrs, states and even the the federal are bloated. Reduce the number by half, and it will still be bloated. Paying generous benefit to all retired staff will bankrupt all tiers of government.

Seccondly, Nigeria collects very little as taxes. Barely 10% of GdP. Meanwhile, Cote D'ivoire collects 27%. Tax take is too poor to provide generous pension.

It is very necessary that whatever pensions that are paid out are affordable to the gocernment as generous entitlement programs are a sutefire way to ruin a country.
When it comes to workers' welfare, you quickly remember that paying generously would ruin the country, but politicians who loot public funds and spend extravagantly don't ruine the countryhuh

Those of you who are always quick to talk about the negative impacts of improved worker's pay on the economy also fail to consider all the other factors that contribute to the depreciation of the values of our currency which can be worked on to strengthen our currency. You forget about closing all the loopholes through which our politicians loot the national treasury, increasing our productivity levels by creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive and attract foreign investors, building refineries and increasing our exports of both oil and non-oil resources etc.

You're always ready to go against any actions geared towards improving workers' welfare because you're not in the same shoes as these workers. Do you know that most Nigerian workers now exhaust their salaries within the first week of receiving it due to the rooftop increase in cost of living? Ask yourself, how do these workers survive for the rest of the month when their salaries get finished!

Is it better for these workers to stop going to work once their salaries finish and look for alternative means of earning money? Do you consider the impact this would have on the same economy you think you are protecting by discouraging any increment in workers' salarieshuh Honestly, I would not blame any Nigerian worker who doesn't go to work these days on account of lack of funds. They have every justification to stay away from work while pursuing alternative means of livelihood.
