"Wike is blocking all water ways. Infact, his Hypercity Supermarket and filling station is being built on a place no permanent structure is supposed to be built upon. A cabinet minister"

ABUJA FLOODS, THIS IS JUST A TIP OF THE ICEBERG

I decided to keep quiet over the flooding in the FCT, Abuja since yesterday, so i can just read commentaries, and in all honesty, i have read more than enough.

I saw people denying the obvious. People making comments like, "which Abuja be dis?" "Where Abuja get this kind Water?" "This can never be Wuse 2," and so on. But one thing that is very clear is those floods actually happened in the heart of the FCT. Who could have imagined that cars of all kinds will be flooded on Ademola Adetokumbo? But it is happening, thanks to President Tinubu, and his minister Wike.

I have written about this even before the rains started, that Abuja is being destroyed out of greed. I have said it over and over that all the waterways in Abuja were being sand filled and buildings erected, and that the city will pay dearly for it. The supporters of the regime will always come after me. But I can bet alot of those clapping today would be victims either directly or indirectly tomorrow.

Wike is blocking all water ways. Infact, his Hypercity Supermarket and filling station is being built on a place no permanent structure is supposed to be built upon. A cabinet minister. That is how bad the impunity under this regime is. Nigerians didn't see anything near these when the @HQNigerianArmy were in power. Yet we said they were bad.

The truth is water must find it's way, even if forcefully. And that is what we are witnessing. The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NiHSA) has warned that flooding will worsen between August and September. And the FCT was one of the areas it said is of high flood risk. The Tinubu’s regime has warned Nigerians to prepare for flooding, blaming it on climate change, the same regime it's officials are deliberately and flagrantly destroying the our environment through land grabbing of even water ways. As I type, there hardly any green area and water ways Wike has not sold and structures being erected. The sad part is, most of these are done by politically exposed persons. Nigeria haven't seen this level of impunity in it's entire history. Under the military era, corruption was with caution, they were afraid of Nigerians. But under Tinubu? It is very brazen.

Yes, in your usual sycophancy, some of you will say flooding is a natural disaster, but what we are witnessing in the FCT is not a natural disaster, but rather, a 'Wike's Disaster', and Tinubu is watching.

Who would have thought Ademola Adetokumbo of all places would be so flooded? Who would have thought a rich neighbourhood like Katampe that is on a hill would be so flooded? And if these places can be so flooded, then imagine what will happen to low areas like Galadimawa, some areas of Lokogoma, Apo, and Lugbe.

Keep clapping for Wike, some of you clapping today might end up losing all you laboured for including lives as a result. I am not cursing anybody or wishing anyone evil but just speaking the truth. The flooding just started. It would be far worse by next raining season.

Let's continue to clap for what will obviously become DOOM.

When the emperor danced naked in public. His subjects hailed him and showered him with praises, until a dirty smelly mentally disturbed woman approached the Emperor and asked to *** his tiny joystick was when he realized he was naked. But surprisingly nobody warned him about it.. now the shame an disgrace is inevitable. Story is not about the Emperor and the mad woman

Nlfpmod, Wike and government needs to do something, before Abuja becomes Lagos. grin grin grin
Re: Abuja Floods, This Is Just A Tip Of The Iceberg - Samuel Omogor by flokii:
Wike should be called to order.. he is risking the lives of Abuja residents through his reckless actions. Reports have it that all the drainage pathways and green areas in Abuja have been sold off by Wike and buildings are being erected in those areas.
This is totally unacceptable and a recipe for disaster in future.. apart from flooding, earth tremors, earthquakes and other natural disasters can start happening. Let's not forget the climate change wahala, the global warming and melting of ice caps.

Wike should not endanger people's lives because of money. Abuja's master plan must be adhered to and all land approvals issued on the green areas in the FCT should be revoked.
The unenlightened ones might be asking, is it not flood, what is the big deal?.. It's a big deal because it poses serious health risks and can spread life-threatening disease through spread of microbes, medical wastes, wastes from landfills and other harmful chemicals and substances that might be injurious to human health.

Instead of selling up all the lands in Abuja, neighboring border towns like Suleja, Dikko, Nasarawa, etc. should be opened up to investors and link roads built to those places. It doesn't make sense to build luxury in one place only to end up with tegrets when disaster hits. Safety first.

The excuse they gave for Lagos floods is

“Lagos is below sea level”, this is actually false, Lagos isn’t below sea level at least according to google.

They’ll say it’s natural disaster, even when those that have lived in Abuja long enough say they’ve never experienced such level of flood.

While I’m angry about the flooding, as I almost fell victim to it late on Saturday on my way from the CBD to Airport Road around midnight, saying that the new building under construction around the FCDA Secretariat is the cause of the flooding in Wuse 2 is not only a lie but also a mischievous report informed by hatred and envy.
The flooding is, in fact, caused by blocked manholes in the city centre, partly due to vandalism by scavengers, while the government feigns ignorance and looks away from these crimes.

Flash floods happen and are due to an unprecedented level of heavy rain bursts within a very short period.

The volume of water thus rises sharply and overwhelms the flood canals .

At this time of the year, the canals are already busting at their limits not just from Abuja rains but because most of the drainage canals are not artificial but naturally formed and are part of a very complex network of natural damages, streams carrying waters from beyond Abuja and flowing through it down to the River Niger basin.

The canals are already overwhelmed not just from rains over Abuja but rains upstream from other states .

Torrential bursts of rain will overwhelm the already high water levels of these canals .

And FYI , all cities the world over drain excess flood waters into natural basin's and drainage canals.

This has nothing to do with urban planning but a natural disaster due to the super El Nino that is bringing heavy rains over the south and north central parts of Nigeria.

Stop blaming Wike for this natural disaster.

Heavy rains are occuring over the southern and north central parts of Nigeria this year due to the super El Nino event.

Abuja forms part of that intricate and complex natural drainage system that feeds into the Niger-Benue basin.

The natural canals are what have been overwhelmed by unprecedented rainfall and flood levels that flow into these natural canals.

This has nothing to do with what you are falsely accusing Wike of but a natural disaster related to the super El Nino that we are experiencing.

Will you blame the same flooding in Abia, Anambra to bad drainage when people from these states are attesting to experiencing heavier than normal and prolonged heavy rains?

Victoria Island is below sea level.

Lekki is naturally a wet land sand barrier shoal that moved along with heavy tides from the ocean to protect the Lagos mainland and Lagos lagoon.

Lekki is basically at sea level and below.

To test this, there are places you will stand in lekki and your eye will be meeting the sea level showing that areas between you and the ocean are below sea level.

The highest lying areas in Lagos are Ikeja with peaks of 40m which is were the Airport is located.

Lagos island , Apapa, VI, Lekki ,Ajah, Badagary , Ebute Metta are all a few meters above sea level (5m) at their highest peaks .

There is another place in Abuja that was earmarked as a park but Wike sold it a few weeks ago despite protests from the residents, he refused to change his mind and now developers are constructing housing estate there even on top of water way channels where flood waters can go into lakes Wike have sold it and they have built houses there….Tinubu regime is like Colombia of 70s under Escobar where there is no law or order…he has basically torn our constitution and other extant law that have directed Nigeria since 1960 into shreds thrown into the dustbin

To me, Wike is not a good leader, but he understands Nigeria mentality and know how to play with their intelligence.

Leader should not only preoccupied alone by roads, flyovers and housing projects .

Doing this alone, so that people would see cathedral you are building, and start singing hosanna behind you. But neglecting others area of human endeavor, most especially planning for future.

You will never read it in the news, HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT he embarks upon.

You will never read it in the news, his contribution towards quality education.

You will always read it, being loggerhead against welfare of his workforce.

You will never read where, he saves for the future, either money or land, but debt burden and grabbing land.
