Secondly, the first bleed might be a miscarriage...and the second can actually be her cycle returning to normal.

It is possible. Everything about women is confusion and irregularities. My wife was still seeing her period not knowing she was two and half months gone. But though, the flow sha dey some how, that was what gave us concern and after the test she was two months plus gone

Likely, only one bleeding was a menstruation. The other was a miscarriage. I've seen something like that.

@OP if a woman is sleeping with more than one man, one of the signs is uncertain and changing menstruation.

How long have you known her? 6months, 1 years or more? Have you ever noticed it in her before or has she ever complained of such previously? Did you guys recently do it without protection and she had to take emergency contraceptive? Emergency contraceptive such as postnor2 or post pill have similar effect. If you did not give her such then you need to ask her if she did so on her own.

On another note, Is her bleeding painful? Very painful? Does she present any sign of sickness? If so she may have suffered miscarriage or similar scenerio. When you have cleared these factors and the coast is clear you can take her to gynecologist for examination.
