NDC will restore some amount of subsidy and peg Petrol at N600 per litre. Instead of giving governor all the100% to lavish, Peter Obi will use 60% of the saving to lift people out of poverty, restore our health, education, improve security and enhance better life. Additionally, student loan will be stopped, in its place, government will review school fees across federal and state universities. Prudence will be our watch word. Anyone who does not like it can relocate to Sambida. |

Atiku can talk on how to make better use of subsidy money/ savings but bringing subsidy back would spell doom for Nigerian economy. 1. Should we continue selling crude oil in advance to pay fuel subsidy and defend Naira? 2.How would private refineries work,if government still dictates the pump price through subsidy payment? I don't support restoring subsidy but I want a better or more beneficial way of spending subsidy proceed. |

It is madness for any party to be talking about restoring subsidies. Subsidising petrol is simply not sustainable anymore. |

Let's even confirm if NDC really said this and end the comment with the sambisa statement. Data boys can conjure all sorts and then start replying themselves after agreeing on it in their whatsapp group. |

Parachoko:We don't have to have a common outlook on issues but the truth will always show in the societies economy. Take a simple walk to any market today and ask few women if things are getting better in prices compared to 4 years ago. I have done it, I even went to few filling stations. Please kindly do the same and come back to report |

I’m with any government that’ll restore fuel subsidy. Whatever Bulaba and co are doing with the savings now isn’t benefiting the large majority. |
| Re: NDC Will Restore Some Subsidies ... Peg Petrol At N600 by Sheuns(m): 9:03am On Aug 21 |
kunle4toyeyaho:Oga returning subsidy on fuel won’t spell any doom on Nigerian economy. Nigeria had much better economy when we were paying subsidy on fuel than when Tinubu removed it. Fuel subsidy benefited everyone directly or indirectly, the removal only benefits a very very few while a larger percentage of the population suffer. What should be tackled is the corruption in the system. You don’t throw away a baby with the bath water. The government must do something to alleviate the suffering of its people. That’s the first priority of any sane government. |

Sheuns:How can an embodiment of criminality tackle the corruption in the subsidy system. Corruption is embedded in criminality and we have the poster boy at the helm. It is well. |

| Re: NDC Will Restore Some Subsidies ... Peg Petrol At N600 by kunle4toyeyaho: 9:58am On Aug 21 |
Sheuns:Corruption is not the only problem. Answer the following 3 questions: 1. If Nigeria was buoyant as you posited, how come we were selling crude oil in advance to pay fuel subsidy before Tinubu became president? 2. How would Private refineries (e.g Dangote,BUA)survive ,if government still dictates the pump price through subsidy payment? Is encouraging private investment not a way of creating jobs? 3. What would be the fate of the new investors in oil sector ( upstream) ,when we encourage subsidy payment to Importers? The new investors are those that just got license. |
| Re: NDC Will Restore Some Subsidies ... Peg Petrol At N600 by Sheuns(m): 3:49pm On Aug 21 |
kunle4toyeyaho:1. The person you said crippled Nigeria economy was supported by Tinubu and Tinubu said he would continue from where he stopped. 2. No where in the interview did Atiku mention that he’ll dictate prices of fuel. He only said he would bring back subsidy. Where he would pay the subsidies he hasn’t said yet. But the goal is to bring down energy costs as it’s affecting the people badly. No refinery would be affected, that I can bet. 3. No one is stopping anyone from investing in building refinery, if you cannot work for the policies of the administration, leave. No investor interest should supersede that of the Nigerian people. Subsidy has to come back. The removal just hasn’t worked. |

| Re: NDC Will Restore Some Subsidies ... Peg Petrol At N600 by kunle4toyeyaho: 11:38am On Aug 22 |
Sheuns:Atiku himself knows this is not sustainable. He should have concentrated on promising better utilisation of proceeds from subsidy savings ( this is one aspect I do not totally agree with PBAT) , bringing subsidy payment is a'NO' There is no way Atiku would pay subsidy and he would not determine fuel pump price. Can any private investor(e.g Dangote )compete with government? Atiku got this wrong! Above all ,he should tell us where he would get find to pay the subsidy or he would also resort to advance sale of Crude oil? |
