Aisha Yesufu In Silent War With Obi Over Failure To Secure Senatorial Ticket by emkz(op): 6:53am On Aug 29
A Silent but bruising war is raging in the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) between two unlikely adversaries, namely the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi and his long-dated supporter, Aisha Yesufu.

Without an iota of doubt, Yesufu had been one of the most vocal supporters of Obi since the build-up to the 2023 elections during which Obi became the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP). She went everywhere with Obi during the electioneering, shouting herself hoarse and devoting every ounce of her energy to the campaigns in the hope that Obi would win the presidential election.

As it turned out, Obi lost the election with a wide margin, coming a distant third behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

Still, Yesufu did not relax her support for Obi. As the 2027 elections gathered momentum, she once again threw her weight behind the presidential aspirant, following him first to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) upon his defection from the Labour Party and then to the NDC.

Matters, however, became complicated when they arrived at NDC and Obi automatically picked the party’s presidential ticket while Aisha’s hope of an easy ride to picking the senatorial ticket of the party for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was dashed by the powers that be.

"No, no, no, no, don’t even go there," one of the party leaders was said to have told her (Aisha Yesufu) immediately she made her ambition known.

In place of Yesufu, another woman whose face was largely unknown in political circles was handed the ticket; a development that sent Yesufu into high dudgeon, causing her to accuse the party’s leadership of marginalising her. “I am not even asking for a level playing field; I only needed a field,” she said.

The grapevine has it that things have not been the same between her and Obi since the unsavoury experience and she has been waging a silent war against the NDC presidential candidate. Already, she has declined the party’s request that she should be on Obi’s campaign train for the 2027 election.

Yesufu is said to be unable to understand how Obi’s running mate, Dr. Rabiu Kwakwaso could push his loyalists in the party to obtain desired tickets not just in the north but also in the Southeast such that the party was beginning to look like an arm of the Kwakwansiyya Movement while Obi could neither stand nor push for his own loyalists in the sharing of party tickets.

Tinubus newspaper "The Nation" is at it again. It is election time and they have gone haywire. Totally unhinged.
Pushing rudderless propaganda to maximize greater corruption in politics .
Are we all not tired of this?
All these gossips just to demarket a worthy candidate.
Someone should tell them that the poor masses are grappling with greater problems than this..

At what point did Aisha Yesufu decide to contest?

Did she inform party leaders before declaring? If she had informed Obi, Obi could have taken her to Dickson or included her as part of his negotiations to join NDC. At the worst, she could have been asked to take the NDC Senate ticket for Edo North where she comes from. In my view, she went about her contest naively. She undermined party leaders by allowing them find out about her ambition on social media.

See Obafemi Hamzat. He first went to meet party leaders in Lagos State to inform them. Those party leaders took him to Tinubu. That signals intentionality and maturity.

Despite being an opposition leader, Nyesom Wike is one of those Aisha Yesufu needed to see. Wike may not publicly support her, but he won't antagonize her if she showed him respect. Instead, she went on air to say nasty things against Wike. Same advice goes to Ireti Kingibe. Make friends, not enemies. Wike is FCT minister and has earned the trust of FCT voters. You gain nothing fighting him when he is supporting Philip Aduda.

Ireri is a gonner, the indigenes of Abuja are taking Abuja back. .

You will notice what happened to those sick parties who fielded candidates from other parts of the country in the last LGA elections
Add that with what Wike is doing in Abuja.
She has no hope.

If Asiha had gotten the ticket the weight of the defeat would have sent her out of politics for life.
She fit no get reach 10k

The agulu fraudster used and dumped this woman because she is a muslim. Frustrated Obi is a religious bigot and a dullard cheesy

Seriously, Obi's campaign has lost its momentum ever since clowns like Aisha Yesufu and Kenneth Nwankwo have left him. He replaced them with content creators like Peter Akah and his girlfriend Mama Pee. Their mode of campaign has seriously demarket Obi and exposed him as an unserious presidential joker
Re: Aisha Yesufu In Silent War With Obi Over Failure To Secure Senatorial Ticket by aswani(m): 8:28am On Aug 29
Whilst I think Aisha has a right to be upset, I don't think she can blame Peter Obí.

And I know Kwankwaso fought for his own followers a lot harder than PeterObi did.

That senatorial seat had actually being promised to the woman even before Obidients turned up in NDC.

My problem with Aisha is with her saying she was too big for HOR which she was offered as compensation. Aisha who on earth are you to say such a thing.

All na wash anyway, she wouldn't have won the senatorial seat or the HOR one.

Anything that will kpai or at least wreck the Obidient structure is good for me. I am very happy to hear of the impending fragmentation of a group of fanatical, rabid people whose only response to genuine discourse is insult and abuse.

Strange bedfellows who have never slept in the same bed, with an evil agenda to grab Power without knowing what to do with it.

In 2023, their slogan was “Ellupee from Top to Bottom”, but in 2027, their slogan will inevitably be “No Vacancy in Aso Rock, Tilumbu till Infinity”. grin

She wants to fly before crawling. Someone who has not contested for grassroot elective office now wants senatorial office.

I guess it's all tit-for-tat. So I guess many of HE Peter Obi's supporters also have their interest. So because HE Peter Obi didn't secure the ticket for her, she stopped her support for him. Conditional support!

Gringory Obi that is begging to be a One Term President (OTP), unfortunately since there is no vacancy in Aso Rock like u asserted, will only be at best a No Term President (NTP).

Just like one APC man said, Obi only interested in him and himself alone to be president and less concerned about progress of others politically.

Other political figures will be working hard to assist his die-hard lieutenants to progress politically, at least, to help him when, himself needed them.

They keep saying obidient movement is inconsequential but they always never fail to write a propaganda about it.😆😆

Atleast now we know that apc have identified Obidient movement as their biggest obstacle in their desperate return to second term.

Well this may actually be a distraction to shield their growing questions over the educational qualifications of bulaba.

So let me ask data boys and their handlers...
which primary and secondary school propelled him to university level?

Re: Aisha Yesufu In Silent War With Obi Over Failure To Secure Senatorial Ticket by emkz(op):
There is nothing reported that is not already in the public domain.

When Peter Obi launched his campaign, Aisha Yesufu was conspicuously absent.

In most of Obi's outings, Aisha has been missing.

There are videos of Aisha yelling at Seriake Dickson to be given ground. There are also videos of some Obidients who visited Dickson at night to force him to give Aisha ticket. Dickson warned them not to mention it again. Dickson also said himself and Peter Obi asked Aisha to go to the house of representatives and she rejected it.

Aisha herself came out to say she won't be going round with Peter Obi as she did in 2023. She said she would do a parallel campaign for him. After saying that, she went silent again.

The fact is that Aisha's influence has been whittled down significantly in NDC. Peter Obi hasn't noticed.

The only difference between Obi and Atiku is that one is old and the other is much younger.

They are both selfish and unpolitical.

Once they get their own, they abandon their team members to their fate

It is the exact same reason that has made Atiku unable to keep his close allies for years, always changing his team with each election cycle. Obi is already towing that path

Same cannot be said of Tinubu and Kwankwaso.

Tinubu, as much as I dislike him is a complete party man. He struggles for his people and that is why they are all willing to lay down their lives for him. Same as Kwankwaso.

Call it godfatherism but it is what it is

Yesufu does not seem to understand OBi..

He doesn't want to be any form of Godfather or power broker..

He just want to be a simple man who brings his suitcase to ur office..u tell him what is required of him to be your candidate, he does it..ND do his job and go..

He doesn't want all this midnight political meetings, and meetings and maneauvaring..

He doesn't want to be calling the shots in party matters, controlling every event or candidates that seek political post..Obi believes, he isn't different from an aspiring councillor in his party..that they are all seeking same thing but at different level..

Aisha, just didn't know Obi rightly, she thought he has cornered a man she can tell the world is different but inside inside the man will still b the same on code and be a power broker in intra politicical affairs..

He just doesn't want control of people or system aside that he is elected to supervise...Obi also didn't use any of the slot he was assigned in the entire southeast..it's not about just Aisha..

In the southeast, most politicians feels Obi called the shot of the consensus candidates..that's why one went to headquaters to complain and was told to meet OBi since he has been allocated the influence of all candidates in the southeast...

Them call obi tire to come organize primaries..he refused and told them to.meet their respective chairmen..who has the structural right to organize elections

But trust politicians, they want to be favoured, so they rushed to kwankwaso who like our normal politicians played God on their affairs and cashed out...

Aisha should practice what she preaches, OBI is truly different for real..not just to the press!

The war only exist in the head of this poster, everyone knows obi doesn't do transactional politics that's common with corrupt nigerian politicians that still doesn't make obi a bad leader.
