Osun Poll: Oyebamiji Congratulates Adeleke, Says APC Will Pursue Justice by adenigga(op): 8:34pm On Aug 29
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the August 15 Osun governorship poll, Bola Oyebamiji has congratulated the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, who was returned elected in the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Oyebamiji who alleged attacks on small and medium-sized businesses due to perceive political affiliations or non-allegiance of their owners to the ruling party in the state, also demanded end to the killings, harassment and intimidation of APC members and supporters across the state.

He made this known in his address on the outcome of the governorship poll to the supporters and members of APC dated Saturday, August 29 obtained in Osogbo by The PUNCH.

He also said after the declaration of the poll result, efforts were set in motion leading to wider consultations with people inclusive of elders and the critical stakeholders in the party for the next step forward.

“As a party committed to the rule of law, we shall continue to pursue justice and fairness through lawful and constitutional means, particularly in relation to our electoral processes. I therefore urge you not to be discouraged or despair. We must remain resolute, sustain our faith in democracy and continue to have confidence in the institutions established to protect our democratic rights,” Oyebamiji said.

He added, “In the spirit of democracy and as we commemorate the 35th anniversary of the creation of our dear Osun State, I congratulate His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, on his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“At the same time, I call on Mr. Governor, as the Chief Security Officer of the state, to do everything within his constitutional responsibility to protect the lives and property of all citizens, particularly during this sensitive post-election period.”

He recalled various incidents of violence that occurred before and during the governorship poll, saying the party lost more than 35 members to the mayhem and charged the police to thoroughly investigate the killings and bring the perpetrators to justice.

He commended President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for their support for the governorship project, and called on APC members in the state to rededicate themselves to the task of mobilising support for Tinubu and other candidates of the party in the 2027 general elections.

“We must close ranks, strengthen our structures and work tirelessly to secure incontrovertible victories for Mr. President and all our candidates in Osun State.

“In conclusion, I salute your courage, resilience and steadfast commitment to our party and to the Prosperity Agenda that we represent. Democracy is not an end in itself; it is a means through which the aspirations and welfare of the people can be advanced.

“We will therefore continue to march forward with faith and determination towards a greater Osun. A state where our collective resources are equitably deployed, where opportunities are accessible to all, and where governance serves the greater good of our people rather than narrow or clannish interests. I thank you all,” he said.

The PUNCH reports that the incumbent Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, was returned elected in the Saturday August 15 governorship poll by the State Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Joshua Ogunwole.

Adeleke won the governorship poll with a total of 511,067, to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, who polled 444,815 votes.

Finally came round! APC will do well to stay very far away from Rauf Aregbesola, Oyetola and Oyebamiji.

Some people won't be able to sleep tonight. Adeleke and Oyebamiji gradually closing ranks. Tinubu keeps beating them at the games.

Adeleke is a beneficiary of the people's anger and resolve against Tinubu and the APC. He does not tell the people of Osun what to do. If it's about endorsements, Sanwo-olu endorsed Tinubu in Lagos, but Tinubu still lost the state. That didn't stop Lagosians from voting Sanwo-olu for governor. Tinubu is more unpopular than the APC as of today. In 2011, Osun state was the only state that didn't follow Tinubu's instruction to throw Ribadu under the bus in order to vote PDP. They are Omoluabis and independently minded.

This is the exact thing that happened

The AMBO guy was the "pinyata" that took stray bullets for tulumbu

Na him head them use take break the proverbial coconut

Since tulumbu denied them in osun state and claimed Lagos , they denied him to. It is obvious that adeleke has no power in controlling who the people would vote for

I understand that he went to Abuja to rub tulumbu and wike's dada so that the judiciary would not come for him and they would release his LGS funds

But let it be known that except for voters apathy and people's docility, no gov can deliver anything for tulumbu

Lol people anger against Tinubu in Osun election?

I know you are crying as you typed that. Atiku only hope in the SW is gone because Adeleke and APC Osun are going to paste it for Asiwaju on election day.

Atiku won't see past 5-10% votes in the SW. We already took PDP from him and no structure left.

This was the outcome the adeleke guy wanted that was why he went to dobale for tulumbu.....what people call "he stoops to conquer"

Tulumbu loves to be lied to

They know his weaknesses so that are telling him what he wants to hear

At least this will call to others, those whom they have paid and mobilised to create mayhems but have not been able to Carey that out like their killings in ikire few days ago.

Also the calls Adeleke made to all opposition leaders except Oyetola who refused to pick his calls and return it . Showed tham that we can't continue to fight this man blindly.

Above all, Peace and progress in Osun is what we pray for

Na today your analysis dey fall for face? What happened to all your analysis of 2023 even for the big one? We told you in 2023 that elections are not won on Social Media. Below is straight from the mouth of a Tinubu-supporting nairalander who is an indigene of Osun state. Like I said, you all can continue to bury your head in the sand and keep hoping on Adeleke and 36 state governors to deliver your tin-god. Time is a gentleman.

There is nothing like people's anger as the election recorded series of election malpractice by both party through votes buying which gave victory to highest votes buyer.

Adeleke is not a beneficiary of anyone's anger. He's a beneficiary of being a people's governor and running an inclusive government. He's also a beneficiary of practicing grassroots politics. Before becoming commissioner, when last did Oyebamiji visit his hometown? Were Ekiti people not angry with Tinubu? Why did APC win there? Stop disrespecting Adeleke like that.

Was also the case in 2023 presidential elections when they rejected Tinubu? Was vote buying the reason why Tinubu also lost in Lagos? Why is Tinubu relying in others to deliver him when he cannot even deliver himself?
