I remember in 2004 when I started doing strolling as my evening exercise. Every evening, I will just trek a long distance. Most times I just move from one street to another then return home. When I returned, I observed that 98% of those restaurants and bars were no more. Most of those spots were either replaced with a normal shop for selling items or even don't exist anymore. I was much younger then so I didn't make any meaning of that and couldn't fathom why the sudden change. What I learnt later was mind-boggling. Most of those madams were no more and the ones still alive couldn't leave their houses anymore. As of 2004, there were still a lot of misinformation about HIV and the few people who knew much about it's prevention and treatment were the educated ones. In summary, most of them died of AIDS

There was a HIV pandemic that period but most people weren't aware except those in medical fields. People started preventing HIV from 2008 upwards. But many of them who contracted in the early 2000, all died. I personally know one of the victims

You can enter any government general hospital and ask them for the records of people who died of AIDS in the early 2000. People were ignorant of the disease and they mostly didn't use condoms while sleeping with harlots. This my post doesn't apply to the modern day runs girls

@OP, you may not be up to 30% correct with your submission and arguments as to what led to the closure of those places like the local bars you mentioned. What really happened was that nightlife evolved and with social media app like badoo, and chatrooms eliminated the necessity of the girls staying at such places (bars) and they consequently moved to hotels or stayed online to get customers. The chatrooms protected the anonymity of the parties and diverse clientele for the ladies.
