They are now one month and one day today. Last week I notice watery poops and sluggishnes in some of them . Then I made a mixture of garlic. Ginger. Turmeric. Black pepper. Lemon and blend them with fermented corn water. Adding 200mls to their drinking water then there was big improvement just after 2 days. Next week they will be taken Bitter leaves and saint leaves juice. Thses guys love fighting. |

Oh sorry for the loss they must have died from heat stress or too much smoke fumes Next time try to make the charcoal fire outside and only bringit inside when it has properly lighted and the smoke have reduce. Too much smoke can cause respiratory problems for the chicks. Another way to handle the smoke and heat issues is to place them on Garlic ginger Turmeric every day for the first 3 weeks and they will survive without heat source. Legitz: |

Thanks for sharing. 30% seems quite a high mortality rate. Have you considered having a thermometer to ensure that you maintain a safe temp? |

wow, this is interesting and I salute your courage. I’m poultry farmer too. I have a poultry farm that produces eggs in commercial quantity and i raise my birds from day old too but never tried the organic method to brood even though I heard it effective too. Btw how much do you get your day old chicks and any idea how much pullet cost now ( day old isa brown layers)
