Good agriclanders.... Before this experience I would say what experience I have are from watching a friend in his farm, asking questions, reading forums here in nairaland, and foreign poultry forums and asking pro organic farmers both online and offline. I googled on the efficacies of different spices and leaves and their particular action on poultry.....interestingly you find many researches, test programs with results and journals.
Follow me through this 6weeks and let's see what outcome we get.

A week before their arrival, we eventually complete the chicken house.
Image below is the chicken house during construction....exceeded my budget by twice the amount I planned due to untrustworthy capenter, but that's story for another day...lessons learnt.

Day 2:
Contemplated between using newspaper or disposed cartons at the supermarkets in kubwa, apart from the cost in getting the newspapers, I reasoned that and observed after deciding on cartons that cartons are better.

Day 8:
Interestingly on day 8 I bought cayenne peppers and blended a handful with a half clove of garlic.
Cayenne peppers are know to prevent and cure coccidiosis and the garlic act in the capacity of broad spectrum antibiotics and Immune guard.
So far no mortality and the little folks are extra hyper.
As for the newspapers, well I couldn't get cartons when i got to the supermarkets, so bought newspapers. Their litter got wet from water spilling from drinkers while placing them on the floor and they had served for 3 days already. So newspapers as litter(cost: 200 naira)

Nice one bro. but are they targeted for Easter or just training them for experiment.
It is not cost effective to train without targeting market or festive seasons where there is high demand which leads to higher profits as a result of the excessive demands

Meet market women and asked them and they said they will coke when the birds are ready and then we can discuss prices and I have met a frozen food shop (just 1 so far) and they said they buy processed birds in kg. I hope when I go this week I meet the owner and try to meet more frozen food shops too.
