On 7 September 2026, the X account @GloriousGod01 posted the story of a close friend and the tragic events that followed the birth of his first child.

The couple, both under 28 and described as young and beautiful, had been married for four years without children. The previous year the wife finally became pregnant. She made one firm request for a push gift: her own car.

She delivered a baby girl by caesarean section last month after a long and tense labour that cost her husband a large sum of money. Three days later, while still in hospital, she demanded the car. When he said he could not afford it immediately, she refused to feed the newborn. Nurses had to beg her to care for the infant.

Once home the neglect continued. The husband often returned from work to find the baby left crying alone. The wife stopped breastfeeding unless he pleaded with her and used the child’s care as leverage.

She later left for two days and stayed with her mother while the baby grew seriously ill. He begged her to return, but she refused until he agreed to buy the car. She came back only after that promise.

A few days later the baby girl died, never recovering from the illness. The husband immediately sent his wife away. When she returned with her mother to plead, he had both of them arrested. The post closes with the words: “Above all, love God.”

The woman refused to breastfeed the baby, and the man refused to step in to protect the child from the obviously deranged woman. Why? Why didn't the man immediately take over feeding duty for the child and take her to the hospital as soon as he realized the baby was ill? 😒😒😒

All these nonsensical tales don't help men at all. The man chose a woman who was of questionable intelligence to have the child with. After he realized in the hospital her intentions, he should have immediately stepped in to protect the child from the woman and maybe see to it that she was institutionalized or at least deprived of access to the child. Why tell us sob stories when it is both the man and woman who failed the child? Assuming the child did indeed die as a result of parental neglect, I hope both of them will spend at least 10 years each in jail for letting that child die. 😒😒

It actually spoke the truth. The man did the first thing last. What he should have done was, immediately he noticed her refusal to care for the child, HIS CHILD because the morally degenerate woman has decided that the car was more important than the child's life, he should have taken the child away from her and taken the child to the hospital so the nurses will find other means of nursing the child.

When the woman tries to throw tantrum because of that, that's when he should arrest both of them and report to Ministry of Women Affairs or shii.

If the woman was setting fire to all his properties one by one every time he comes back from work, will he wait for her to burn down the house?

Deep down many women want their babies dead especially the ones who their babies obviously retired them from that oldest trade. Tell me the difference between what this woman did and throwing a new born baby into drainage and refuse bin.

What happened to him inviting any of his sisters/mum to come care for the infant by feeding the child with baby formula?

Some rubbish culture needs not be normalized.

What is the essence of push gift? Who started it? In the past, childbirth was honourable. There were no commercial aspects. Now, people feel when they give birth to a child, they are owed a car. Make it make sense. Some spray money on their wives. A car is a depreciating asset. If you have money, why not buy land for that child and open a fixed deposit account in that child's name? If she gives birth to six children, can you afford six cars?

Let us do better.

This is what happens when "underage" people are allowed to get married without parental guidance.
