Philosopher1979:
this is because we already have players in europe so getting players from the diaspora sometimes makes little difference.
our local footballing machinery can produce players that do well in the top 10 leagues of europe and there are
many diaspora players like that. but then its the same level they are all on.
the real diaspora players we need are those in the top teams n the top 5 leagues of Europe.
teams like arsenal, real madrid, barcelona, man city, inter milan, ac milan, liverpool etc. unforunately those top diaspora players dont want to play for us. as in busayo saka, eberechi eze etc. it is diaspora players in westham or everton that want to play for us and then we already have home grown players around that level and then there is competition.
so YOU GET IT. THE VERY TOP BARCELONA PLAYING DIASPORA PLAYERS DONT WANT US AND THAT REALLY IS THE ISSUE.
Why wait for them to play for top club before looking for them?

If you become president of Nigeria today, will you give free access to someone who never noticed you while you were far from that seat?

"Top talented players" according to who? The only time we get diaspora borns is when we have foreign coaches. Our local coaches are too lazy to scout and recruit diaspora born. They are also corrupt. The NFF led by Ibrahim Gausau put a ban on diaspora born playing in the age grade teams and local journalists continue to package below average homebased players. These are the root causes of the problem. Address that and every other issue will solve itself. Stop playing dumb. DRC FA have a go to person that helps them recruit from their diaspora. Who is our "person"huh Lets start from there.
It is now our local coaches that hardly last on the job is the reason we fail to convince them?

You failed to to answer any of my questions, and then creates one for me to answer,
anyways, technical backroom staff to privately contact, monitor, and recruit our dual-nationality prospects across Europe was created, their names are confidential, just as you don't have the name of the person that help DR Congo recruit their diaspora players.

Odunayaw:
Are their players not of the caliber of Adarabioyo, Tomori, Ugochukwu?
Adarabioyo, Tomori and Ugochukwu all went ahead and played for top clubs, these players can start for both super eagles and DR Congo when fit and in-form, so they are hardly of the same caliber with the players DR Congo recruit easily.

This type of reasoning is bringing us backwards.

I dont have to answer any of your questions. You are a waste of time and a distraction to me. We all know what needs to be done to get Nigeria football to be better but people like you play dumb and act like this is harder than brain surgery or rocket science. If the Congolese who have been dysfunctional for decades can figure it out why cant Nigerians in the NFF do the same? Have a nice day.

This type of reasoning is bringing us backwards.
It's reality of life not reasoning.

Someone played through the youth team of a different country. You ignored him all along and only look towards him when he's at the peak of his career. Meanwhile, same person is aware how players are treated in Nigeria.

If it's you, will you prefer to switch? You're only wishing they choose Nigeria instead because of your selfishness - so that your team will do well at the expense of their career and well-being.

Football is a career. It's same reason doctors and IT specialist are leaving Nigeria. Can you convince those ones too to come back and earn peanut and be unappreciated.

Instead to agree you don't have any meaningful thing to utter that could bring solutions other than to sit behind your keyboard and complain, you have to resort to this superficial and insignificant remarks?
Pls don't engage me if you don't have anything logical to contribute other than to pour your aggravations.

And yet folks like you are the ones that would do worse than what we hav witnessed in this country if by any chance any authority is bestowed upon you.

We are looking to surpass what Morocco have achieved at the world cup someday, so we are more interested in the very best that could help us achieve that not just any foreign born players, there is nothing like selfishness in this case,
nothing will erase the fact those players were Nigerians irrespective of where were born.

If you don't think we deserve to recruit the top level prospects and those playing in top clubs, then y'all should quit complaining whenever we fail to recruit them.

We need to start building life after/without Osimhen. I love Osimhen but his availability is far too spotty. By the next WC he’ll be 30/31

Even for Gala, it looks like he’ll miss their first two UCL matches.

I really hate the mentality of a black African man. Instead of him to invest resources on his people and level up he will be all in at cutting corners trying to measure up through cheating and unfair practices. Look at Nigeria for example, they will tell a kid in Anambra that his 139 score will be weighted the same as a 2 from a kid in zamfara all in the name of fairness and inclusion. All these nonsense zonal qualification process was simply introduced by CAF as an affirmative action to reward mediocrity. The next CAF president need to fucking scrap that zonal nonsense. The goodnews is that when the beneficiary of these nonsense comes to the worldstage they get dog walked. They simply can not compete.

Anyone who was around for the whole Decree 101 saga years ago in the 2000s, know this was pure Government interference but like you said, Infantino and co are on board so that is why no eyebrows are being raised at FIFA.

Besides, we also kinda needed a change at the glasshouse and needed it done somehow. I only hope we dont go from frying pan into hell fire. The change better yield something positive for once.
Correct. That's why I do think anyone who criticizes Infantino should do that out of principle alone, cos if we're being honest, Infantino has really benefited African FAs
