All I’ve learned so far from this case is that the police came to the house where three children lay dead in the basement and their mother was unconscious, with a temperature of 80+ degrees, a crush thyroid and unable to speak.

And all the investigation they did was to accept what he said as fact and did not dig deeper.

I know there are several legal technicalities at play here being that she woke up and was told that her husband said that she said she killed the kids and tried to kill herself. She accepted that likely false memory seeing as she can’t remember anything else that happened.

And according to him, she supposedly tried to kill herself by ingesting some drugs, cutting herself in the wrists and neck and then throwing herself from a window?

Okay. lol

May them babies rest in peace. The law enforcement failed them by not doing proper investigation.

Haven't reviewed the case, but I'm sure no one wants to find someone who killed 3 children not guilty.
The problem is the law is the law. And jurors are bound to obey the law. (though I am also comfortable with jury nullification in some cases)
If they believed she didn't have the mens rea due to insanity to commit the crime, then they should have voted not guilty.
But it doesn't mean she goes free, probably will be committed for a long long time.

From my quick reading she didn't seem to be mentally stable before the killings and so it seems 'Not guilty' was the appropriate judgement.
The lone juror seemed not to be focussed on doing his duties as a juror or wanted to nullify the jury.
Again, this is based on a quick reading of the facts.

Yea another woman not long ago killed her kids in a psychotic episode or something of that nature as well and it hardly made the news at Lindsay’s level. And no one even gave her the benefit of the doubt like this case.

If I didn’t know better I’d say the prosecution wanted Lindsay to walk free because of how badly they bungled it.

The other lady was black though so I’m sure a lot of people are making the connection that Lindsay’s race might have been what earned her compassion from a bunch of her supporters.

An because the burden shifted once she used the insanity defense, the prosecution would have to prove that she was not insane beyond a reasonable doubt.
That's a really high bar.
Given the surroundings of her case, if you were on that jury would you have thought the Prosecution proved that?

I am not on that jury and have not seen the evidence presented, so I can not possibly tell how I'd judge, and my thoughts about guilt or not would be the crap I decide to create in my head like some create 2000 kraken mules in their heads and believe it exists in the real world.

We did have a jury, and one on it was not convinced that she was insane which resulted in a mistrial. And I am satisfied that justice has been served.

One shouldn't only like justice when it goes one's preffered way.
