Bride And Elder Sister Fight Over Food by RollinTNDA(op): 1:21pm On Sep 16
A wedding I attended Saturday last week.
The bride and her elder sister got into shouting words over food sharing

Now me I humbly came to carry rice since we haven't eaten and I decided to go to the cooking area to do something before hunger kill me.

As I enter the mother of bride knows my mum so I greet her and she is happy to see me and ask about my mum
She said have I eaten I said no
U know how Igbo women are
She shouted to food caterers oya come and serve Oga food
I come dey feel like James bond.

Not to long the bride storms in and goes straight to the caterresa and starts shouting at them that her visitors haven't eaten BLA BLA Omo the elder sister told her to keep calm naso the bride face the elder sister next thing shouting begin
Almost lead to fight oo dem come dey calm the elder sis

Me I just carry my mountain of chicken and rice and. Japa before them use mistake push my plate fall.

But this got me thinking why is food always a point of quarrel and fights amongst women in occasions

I have never seen Men misbehave because of food in occasions

It's always women shouting and fighting because of food sharing im every occasions that I attended

Food must always be a problem, because some saboteurs want to hijack the food. It could be the bride, family, caterers, audience, etc...

It's mostly due to being stressed out.

Her elder sister was supposed to calm her down, assuring her to handle things.

Your story didn't suggest that they fought because of food.
Instead, they fought because of the bride's attitude of shouting at people.
She's most likely an impatient person and doesn't have a problem screaming at people at the slightest opportunity so the older sister had to tell her to calm down.
Re: Bride And Elder Sister Fight Over Food by Sleekfingers:
Come to think of it. At parties that's where you will see the true characters of many Nigerians .

1. Caterers want to rip people off
2. The celebrant got issues with some people , selective serving of food , greetings etc
3. In-laws showing themselves attitudes
Etc

But they quick to blame their leaders. Forgetting that the same leaders are products of this society.

She did. For most people, respect is non-negotiable, if you're stressed doesn't mean you'll talk anyhow to someone who is already sacrificing to be there for you.

She for go shout for her husband outside na, since she's stressed.

If you don't micromanage and you delegate aspects of the events to the right persons, you won't have to leave your bridal canopy come dey fight caterers for food sharing.

Funny write up, cheesy Thats the way it is in a disorganised party, you cant attend a well organised party and stress about food, talkless of the bride getting into the thick of the action. Hustle oooo! Mke dem no fight ontop food for your wedding. Whereas you attend some weddings, that you will be the one to run for excessive feeding with all sorts & drinks.

I don't agree with you. Someone with bad character will display it anywhere.

Someone who's truly stressed out won't have the strength for vawulence.

From my experience, the bride and groom don't even know most things happening back stage. They have people running things for them.

On my marriage day me and my wife nor even know where our phones dey sef.....Na people hold the phones.
