Lionel Messi is set to wear the Argentina shirt one final time after being invited back for a farewell match against Benin on October 6.

The 39-year-old retired from international football last month after making 207 appearances and scoring 125 goals for Argentina.

The match will hold at the Monumental in Buenos Aires, with members of Argentina’s 2022 World Cup-winning squad also expected to be part of the farewell occasion.
