I think Iwobi isn’t leaving the super eagles anytime soon bro as long as he remains active in Fulham
And midfielders tend to last longer in football, with the way Iwobi is playing, less running and more on ball distribution, I see him staying longer beyond the next Afcon. Couple with his very good injury record.

The time period for switch varies for various cases across International football.

1. 2weeks to 6 weeks.... DRC and Senegal enjoy this timeframe when dealing with the French or Belgian Federations as long as all documentation is in order.

2. Weeks to several months... this can drag into a couple months depending also on documentation.

3. Sometimes months to 1yr+... Lookman's own took 2yrs before he could finally debut. Announced in 2020 and finally able to play for Nigeria in 2022. So this shows the switch process is also due to the federation one is dealing with and the documentations involved as well.

Papi85:
heard the rumour too but switching to another national team takes latest 6 months to 1 year if I’m correct

Benin's Squad for the Sept/Oct International break

Gernot Rohr called up Striker, Ede Oloko Joseph based in Latvia for FK Liepaja
A player I have dropped a few reports on here. I did not even know he had Beninoise links.

Omo, Congrats to him ooo because he is levels below even those who were not called this window.

Glad to see 20y/o Yamirou Ouorou in the Benin List. First senior callup. He is a baller. Seen him at AC Horsens in Denmark and at the U17 Wafu B.

If only Orban abi na Logossou can also settle for Togo.

I won't lie, most of our forwards in the last few years have been very annoying.. if not for Osimhen's presence, we may not have had that run we has in 2023 and 2025 AFCON...

That game against Lesotho in Uyo really got on my nerves...we could have been 4-0 up by half time..
If half our players had Osimhen's mentality, we will be better than we are currently..

I know many fans don't like Osimhen due to some of his on pitch behaviour, but nobody can deny that he brings that fighting spirit into the squad anytime he is on the pitch
Exactly boss...Other strikers need to learn how to use feeds coming to them from our wingers/midfielders....Watching how Osimhen was making himself open and available for passes and also how he wrestles to get his ball then you will know the reason we didn't qualify for world cup was largely because of other strikers were sleeping in Osimhens absence.

-Entered his first 2026 WCQ vs Rwanda (boom connecting and netting a header from a Lookman free kick and also opening up space for Chukwueze assist..boom 2-0!)

-vs Zimbabwe, freeing up himself for a cross out boom 1-0!!

Also creating assists for Adams VS lesotho
-missing out vs SA we went back to factory setting, na defender Bassey help us score again that day (Tolu saw a clean opportunity to nail SA in that potato pitch

-coming back again Vs Benin and single handedly tore Benin apart with Hartwick

Omo in the absence of Osimhen other strikers are so toothless walai....they don't know how to position/open themselves for sleek passes from midfielder and crosses from wingers, I'm happy chelle is working hard

have never had hope of Ngumoha playing for us, adieus to him

As for Nwaneri his destiny is with us unless he wants to defy the gods 🤣😂

Tyrique should seriously be considered for talks by Chelle and his scouting team now that he isn’t close to the England senior national team. We need replacement for Simon badly
I think we should contact Jones too

I just saw Akinsanmiro in the starting lineup for Monza. What did this boy do to Eric Chelle to not even be in the friendly squad against Russia? Did anything happen in camp that we are all not aware of cause this can't simply be just football reasons

TheSuperNerd:
We look light in the middle due to the injury crisis rocking the team's midfield pool currently.

FDB 🏥 (still in doubt)
Nnadi 🏥
Alhassan 🏥
Akinsanmiro 🏥 (Listed as doubtful for tomorrow's game due to fitness concerns and a muscle injury picked up in the last game. Initially thought not so serious but needs a final check to confirm availability for tomorrow).

But the quartet of Iwobi, Ndidi, Onyeka and Onyedika should be enough to get the job done vs Madagascar and GNB.
As it turns out, Akinsanmiro passed the late checkup test and is starting for Monza today vs Sassuolo in Serie A.

Leaving him out of the Super Eagles Squad knowing he is likely to be available today is not a good look especially seeing how lean we are in midfield this window. Chelle and his technical team should kindly watch it.

and the guy have been playing consistently for Monza this season so far

I just pray this lean midfield doesn’t hurt the team in this 2 qualifiers

Honestly, we cant afford to be lean in that middle with a 1 or 2 solid options available. The likes of Ozoh, Lesley, Yah, Tim and co will need some time before we can bring them in so I understand us not turning to them in the present midfield crisis (Alhassan, FDB, Nnadi all injured). The dual nats are currently unavailable until we can wrap up what needs to be done to bring them in.

Even David Moses of Slavia is injured. So we dont have enough new solid options to try which is understandable but Akin is available.

Having Akin, a serie A player available and not calling him up is not good and I hope the 4 MFs picked stay healthy indeed. This is risky.

Also I don’t think Kayode is better than our right back options. To me he is just there as a rb nothing special

FT Brentford 3-0 Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Akinsanmiro played 54mins in Monza's 2-1 win vs Sassuolo in Serie A. Won almost all his duels, created 1 chance, had 100% accurate long balls and 2 tackles and 4 overall defensive contributions.

Ebenezer isn't as good as you guys are touting him

He is an Nwakali 2.0

At least Nwakali had good passing and vision, just wasn't hardworking or serious enough

Ebenezer hardly has one good quality as a midfielder. Has been overrated from day 1
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m):
“The three in the middle did a dirty job, running hard and showing quality. I didn’t say anything to them in the locker room; all we need is a win.
“The team made the fans proud after a performance like that. Caracciolo, Touré, and Akinsanmiro—who was a driving force— were superb in every way. Along with the one against Bergamo, it was one of our best games.” - Alberto Gilardino, Coach of Pisa during first half of 2025/26 Serie A season.

"I came because the new Monza has very clear ideas: focus on several potentially strong players who we can work hard on, Akinsanmiro is one of them, but in some roles, more experience is clearly needed." - Ivan Juric, Monza Coach prior to the Inter Game earlier in the season.

Did you also watch the lad yesterday vs Sassuolo in Serie A? Ofcourse you did not. Infact, I am sure it has been over a year since you watched a full game of Akin.

And wait, so now Nwakali has good qualities huh? But the saying back then was how useless and ineffective he was and how good passing was not a quality to emphasize. Una no dey tire for this thread. Goal post shifters.
