They are married already. Once bride price is paid, wedding has taken place.Church /white wedding is just a formality. The boy's brother should not have brought it to the social media and he is a Revered. Their eldest brother is in UK and he is a cool guy. The Rev.talks too much.

From what Gift's friend (who knows and introduced both of them to each other) said, Gift dodged a bullet...good riddance to the nasty family abeg.

She will find her own....that one isn't for her.

lovediehatelive:
Here's points from what she said in her video:
They met in scripture union

He asked her friend about her.

She sees him as a Christian brother and accepted him.

They fixed a date for traditional marriage.

Unfortunately, 4 days to traditional marriage she lost her dad.

But they continued with the traditional marriage.

He lost his dad before the wedding which was supposed to hold April 6.

He cancelled the wedding without informing her or her family .

She heard about it from someone, a third party.

She forgave him without coming to social media and say he cancelled wedding without informing her family.

They fixed another date 19 September, but when they informed her uncle he asked that they postpone it to December.

She informed her husband to be about it but he was furious , not taking any postponement of wedding.

And cancelled it without informing her.

Congratulations to them! But the guy was wrong to have postponed the first wedding without informing the wife to be. Who does that?
Re: Abia Cancelled Wedding: Bride Reacts by pek(m): 4:19am On Sep 20
Very correct. It was the Reverend that brought this to the social media

Base on experience, marriage planning can be very overwhelming. All a man think is what can trigger him to cancel the date especially when there's doubts and in this case both of them have already lost two their father since the announcement of the marriage. The guy so not have an elder advising him and he is totally not in for the marriage anymore. it's better the lady nmove on because he will always see her as the obstacle

Story
Re: Abia Cancelled Wedding: Bride Reacts by minwafor: 6:38am On Sep 20
Ignorance is a terrible thing. A marriage that has been contracted since last year and the traditional rites done was allowed to linger and now this. The law of our country recognizes that these two persons are already married. Both families and churches should have intervened sooner.

Normally, the death of the head of family should make the couple shift the wedding date to accommodate the mourning period. The two families should meet and iron out these issues. I hope they are aware that traditional wedding is not invaildated on social media. If the guy is really serious about cancelling the whole thing, he should go to the girl's family and do the necessary things to cancel it traditionally. If not, any lady he marries now is a second wife and if he claims to be a 'Christian', he shouldn't have 2 wives.

I come in peace.

Chukwudi4naija:
It is more like a revenge from the bride's family for the first cancellation from the groom's family owing to the death of his father when their traditional marriage went on even with the death of bride's father.
Why so much fuse about white wedding when the real African marriage has taken place? They should forget about that unnecessary wedding and focus on how to make their marriage work if they still love each other.
Many marriages have issues before church wedding. Traditional is the main deal.

It is unfortunate situation, but the lady forgot that not every one have their best interest at heart.

Incompartability issues, anger, and lack of patience. Most importantly the animal death which coincide with someone's death portends serious hiccup. It is a clear sign to the guy which he didn't discern.

Hu b dis?

Never quote me with immature sarcasm...well, not surprised... you're most likely same as this Samuel who's immature, inconsiderate and selfish.

There are too many "boys" these days who pretend to be men but can't hold their own when push comes to shove.

Fyi...there's no crime in a mutual friend introducing two people...that has always been and it doesn't mean it must work out.

If e no gree dem do, everybody find their level. Dem no dey dye put.

Again, she dodged a bullet and good riddance.🥱

Where is spiceadole when you need her? She should come tell the guy how he did the right thing by cancelling the wedding since it's of no benefit to him.

I had already aired my view.
And I was even wondering why a young man will jump to get married the moment he lays hands on some money.

He should be grateful he didn't make such mistake.
He should get a baby mama and patronise OS.
Men should not get married.
Marriage is for women!
Re: Abia Cancelled Wedding: Bride Reacts by Jozilinn: 7:13pm On Sep 20
Both of them are not supposed to be in s marriage thank God for everything because how can a father tell his son to take one of the goats his brother is to use for marriage to his own in laws. The girls family oh, the guys oh. Make all of them get out.

Death up and down within how long abeg they should retrace themselves. Social media isn't your family meeting.

As I'm listening to the message and the way she came out to counter everything all I can say is... marriage is not a do or die affair.
Re: Abia Cancelled Wedding: Bride Reacts by Jozilinn: 7:18pm On Sep 20
The guy in question is even a priest Rev. Isaac, it's well

But you are married to a man lol, and I hope you don't support women marrying women as you said marriage is for women. I guess your comment was deleted, I should have seen it before inviting you, freedom of speech is dead on NL.

It's on social media especially this forum that I learnt that marriage is not for men.
Men are bragging they don't have anything to benefit from getting married hence baby mama and OS is better for them.
Who am I to say otherwise?

Marriage is for women and it only takes a very unfortunate man to spend his money to marry a woman , a venture he has nothing to gain.

With the way young men whyne about marriage and insult women online, one would not even expect any man to be getting married.
