So, what is his own proposed solution? Or, should the country continue in a state of insecurity because you don’t agree with a proposal but current solution has also failed. All developed countries that have a sizeable population, even less than Nigeria have Federal, State & Municipal police departments. If your state does not want state police or improve the security of your state, then don’t implement it but let states serious about their people and their security implement it for their own states.

Much as I support state policing as I believe security is local and should be decentralized,it will not eliminate the lingering issues that the current policing system is facing.

Who will the state commissioner of police be answerable to?
If he or she is answerable to the state governor,then the new system will be no different from what we have encountered from the federal.

State police will save Nigeria as a federation if implemented well! Federal Police were misused by the Fulani hegemony to chain the indigenous people of Nigeria! Kwankawso is not far from the truth. State has its advatages but also many disadvatages.

How it is structured, training and monitoring systems in place will determine if state police will be good or another bad government security agency.

I was somewhere in Ogun east a couple of weeks ago and there was the information alleging that some herdsmen had kidnapped a popular Engineer and a owner of a poultry farm Today the Engineer moves along with his own security operatives increasing his cost of operation

Account stated that the man went to his poultry farm and was picked up by about 5 gunmen. About a week later I saw a large army of Amotekun entering the bush and all that and I asked what has happened? and they said it appears they had kidnapped another person. One thing that struck me when I saw those Amotekun people was that majority of them were carrying dane guns and I begin to wonder are those kidnappers antelopes that you are going to confront with dane guns ?Might be one or two of them are holding pump action gun. The way the are presently configured they appear to me like cannon fodder and that is why a state governor said they are stop gap thing

The reality is that some one can not sit in Kano and say that those that appears like his kinsmen should be coming to the south west to be kidnapping and collecting ransome from our people

One big reason we should not vote for Peter Obi in 2027. In his blind desperation to be President he has taken on a character as his Vice-President who is completely different from his supposed outlook on critical issues such as State Police. When Kwaks wanted to establish Hisbah Police for the advancement of Islam Kwaks supported the idea of State Police. Now that Hisbah Police has been established in Kano State he is against State Police which is greatly required to have security for the ordinary Nigerian. We cannot have two captains in the same boat!

Clearly, Kwankwaso and Obi are not on the same page on several key issues. Notable among them is subsidy. Kwankwaso is clearly in favour of the return of subsidy while Obi is not.
