AnonPoet:Some folks are you even aware that his Father, Chief Justice Rhodes-Vivour, is a YORUBA MAN to the core? Does that not make him a Yoruba man, despite his Mum being Igbo? "No Man's Land" statement was said by a very tiny fraction of Igbos in Lagos but the APC weaponized it to seem as if it was the position of all Igbos in Nigeria, so they can galvanized Yorubas to support Sanwo Olu's re-election in 2023, after Tinumbu lost th Presidential aspect in Lagos, to Peter Obi. APC is responsible for the Ethnic Hatred, Tribalism and Bigotry being experienced between Igbos and Yorubas |

Truthfully GRV started on a wrong footing. Though one problem is, if you marry from that side, if you don't sit up tight, your kids will think they come only from 'across the Niger' instead of being a product of 2 different tribes/ states. Thank God his dad is from a major tribe, if it were a smaller tribe with similar name and language: Sope otilor! Anyway, if he really wants to be that respected politician in Lagos State with his dad's people seeing him like one of them, a faster way will be to change parties to the ruling one and at least go for State House of Assembly or Federal..... Only if he is serious about his political career. The language thing wouldn't have been an issue, he can still go with those who speak Yoruba but the way and manner he spoke against his dad's people publicly.... |

You guys all make me laugh. Not even one of you noted the obvious which is that GRV stopped short of declaring vehemently that "Lagos is 100% Yoruba land A strategy that involves manipulation to cleverly stand in the middle. Where is the vehement insistence Lagos is Yoruba land?

smallsmall:This is a big lie. Almost every Ibo holds the view that Lagos is no man's land including the ones who are yet to leave their villages. |

Encyclopedia1:Why would you even think that of Onitsha? Everyone knows who own Onitsha. You can't say same about Lagos. That is why it has always been in contention. |

Christistruth03:Calabar was never the capital of Nigeria, but it served as the capital of the British Southern Nigeria Protectorate from 1900 until 1906 and never all of Nigeria. Lagos Island was only the primary location and core administrative seat, but the capital territory also included adjacent areas like Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and parts of Ebute Metta/Iddo during various stages of colonia independence administration for decades up until 1991. Saying only Lagos island was capital is not only a false , misleading account but also implying that only Aso rock area of Abuja is capital of Nigeria. |

Encyclopedia1:Read my lips if you can. Igbos have been through far worse. Far far worse. You should be more afraid of what your people who have so far had it very easy would likely experience. Edo people are dragging Lagos, and would claim it in an instant if the opportunity presents, there are the Eguns, several other tribes are there who are not even Yorubas, then the Hausas are there by the side watching you lay claim to what there ancestors laboured for... What does that tell you? Count your teeth with your tongue and check if they are complete. |

ResidentSnitch:Oga, una go de try ni, una no fit chop. No be for Lagos.... Lagos is a Yoruba land and there is nothing any of you can do about it. No wonder the Chinese have been given concessions over you in Lagos. Ask your brothers. |
| Re: It Is A Very Big Insult To Say Lagos Is A No Man's Land - GRV by ResidentSnitch(f): 4:35am On Sep 24 |
Encyclopedia1:Ehe... The Chinese are there too. It's just a matter of time before they buy up everywhere and start determining who will govern Lagos or not. If Igbos can't compete favorably in Lagos, then so be it; because even the Yorubas won't be able to survive there. It's a no man's land. Get used to it. |

SeeWahala:When people refer to Lagos ( colonial Lagos and not Lagos State) to "no mans land", they mean the land was inhabited by people from different places - Egun migrated from Benin republic, Aworis from Ogun,Yorubas from hinterland,Slaves returnees, Bini empire capture it and rule over it, the British made it their administrative capital. Even the current Oba of Lagos trace his roots to Binin. The word Yoruba is a fairly recent term to describe the people of the Old Oyo Empire. |

Dr Christistruth03:that's emotion speaking not facts. There was no entity called Nigeria in 1900 and 1906. This is how you people spread lies and propaganda on the internet. |

| Re: It Is A Very Big Insult To Say Lagos Is A No Man's Land - GRV by Christistruth03: 2:03pm On Sep 25 |
BadBradley:Calabar was the first Capital of Nigeria If you read Lord Lugard's account of how he Conquered Kano and Sokoto and how he administered them along with Bauchi, Gombe and Katsina you would know that Calabar was the first Capital of Nigeria

I see you siting a page form a teenage account. I just simply ask , what year was Calabar Nigeria's capital? |
| Re: It Is A Very Big Insult To Say Lagos Is A No Man's Land - GRV by Christistruth03: 2:15pm On Sep 25*. Modified: 2:57pm On Sep 25 |
BadBradley:Lord Lugard himself called Calabar as his Administrative Headquarters while he was in Sokoto and Kano !!!! It was because the urgent letters from the British Colonial Office took longer to reach him through Calabar that he started looking for another Headquarters and had to settle on Lagos again Even before Colonisation there was already a well travelled Road between Kano and Lagos and also Kano to Sokoto There was no road between Kano and Calabar In fact Lord Lugard and his Army reached Kano on Horseback from Calabar The British Colonial Office messages were reaching Lord Lugard in Kano through Lagos before the letters had ever reached Calabar his Headquarters The Letters Lugard was receiving in Zaria and Kano through Calabar were arriving at least 2 weeks after he had already received the message in the letter through Lagos |

Christistruth03:you just won't answer a simple question: what year was Calabar capital of Nigeria? You keep deflecting, dodging and evading a simple question because you know Nigeria did not exist between 1900-1906 when Calabar was the headquarters of British colony of the Southern protectorate of Nigeria. Below is your education in history: Calabar served as the administrative center for the Oil Rivers Protectorate in 1884. The Niger Coast Protectorate in 1893, and the early Protectorate of Southern Nigeria in 1900–1906 In 1906, the British moved the capital of the Southern Protectorate from Calabar to Lagos.. When Nigeria became a country from 1914, Lagos retained and was Nigeria's first Capital until it was moved in 1991 to Abuja. Misleading historical accounts like the one you're stating is quite dangerous for Nigerians and Nigeria. |

Christistruth03:Northern Nigeria ruled from calabar, how? Was there road or any link between calabar and Kano or Sokoto? When you say ruled, what do you mean? What was the system of governance, and how did Lord Lugard run sokoto from calabar? |
