SE needs to get the goals early; it will force the opponent to go out of shape and make mistakes, which we will capitalize on to get more goals. |

ekehopp2:It's clear Okoye has little interest in playing for the super Eagles... And that to me, his him being ungrateful, considering the fact that the super Eagles played a role in his emergence from the German 4th division to to Sparta Rotterdam in a couple of years... Perhaps he feels to big to be playing second fiddle to Nwabali.. But I really hope he can change his attitude sooner, cus in all honesty, we still need him...as we saw at the last AFCON (before the Morocco game), Nwabali is also prone to error and mischiefs...he needs competition to keep him on his toe...Arthur Okonkwo is good, but he isn't really up to Okoye level yet... |

Walai I no really rate Maduka Okoye, I will repeat again, he doesn't have any significant/remarkable/brilliant moment for super eagles...He doesn't even have any medal as super eagles goalkeeper...If they are to give captain from goalkeeper angle Okoye is the oldest by CAPs amongst the 3GKs, but with how Nwabali shows brilliant displays for SUPER EAGLES, he is more of a captain material than Okoye. -No commanding presence while in post -No bullying presence or this strong headedness we see with some goalkeepers/players. That guy too soft to be radical in between stick for us abeg.....if we wanna succeed in goal keeping department let's still stick with our proper 9ja/African born radical talent the rest can be second choice abeg (only Carl Ikeme gave something to relish in his short stint) |

Danielnino00:All goal keepers will definitely have this deficiency in them(Error Prone), the Koko is have you been spectacular, remarkable, significant in so many situations for us? Ethiopia vs Nigeria in Addis Ababa 2014 WCQ, our almighty Enyeama conceded one nonsense goal like that that gave the Ethiopians a 1-0 lead, a winger making a cross and Enyeama making a mess of it. |

minsfelix2:you're just hating on him and not being and not being factual. He's the best Nigerian keeper around right now; has been for a while now. Nwabali and brilliant in the same sentence? Same Nwabali that has football fans hearts in their mouth every other game? Okoye is miles ahead of Nwabali in every goalkeeping metric. |

Bring any match that Okoye remarkably won for us or a match we lost but he being the goalkeeper was the major talk of the game.. Oga I'm not hating Okoye, I'm telling you based on super eagles numbers/metric Nwabali will dust him... |

Dey should tell all those strikers that is not by scoring in Ajax and running up and down in AC Milan, if you cannot translate your form and club metric to super eagles you are just deceiving yourself, just as some people want us to discard Nwabali becos there is a Udinese-barcelona-madrid goalkeeper in the mix... Tahhh!! Super eagles is the real place to show yourself. Not in Bursapors and Ankaraspors |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by minsfelix2: 12:57pm On Sep 25 |
Ajeh if I b coach I will pair Akor Adam and Ilenikhena to start😀 in the kinda formation we have been seeing Osimhen and Akor play In super eagles....I can never trust that Tolu Ajax form in super eagles jersey...Maybe Awoniyi for Ilenikhena shaa |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Danielnino00(m): 1:00pm On Sep 25 |
gentlegiant95:You need to understand that the first metric for a player getting invitation to the national team is club form...but club form isn't enough to decide who is ahead of who in the national team... Okoye might be playing for a better team than Nwabali and performing better, but as far as the Super Eagles is concerned, he hasn't done anything to justify being ahead of Nwabali.. you can prove me wrong by mentioning any game where Okoye performed excellently for us.. Before you play the hater card, let me tell you that last year, I was among those who advocated for Chelle to give Okoye more minutes ahead of the AFCON because Nwabali was starting to misbehave..a lot of monikers didn't react well to it until the AFCON started and Nwabali started his madness, albeit he stepped up during the game against Morocco. Okoye isn't making himself really likable among Nigerian fans with his antics... |

I dont think you got Chelle's body language and words right. He will manage the situation and take some decisions like he said. I think he said more than enough. Okoye obviously dragged his delay using the Club media duties as alibi. Kog45: |

The only game Nwabali messed up at Afcon 2025 was vs Tunisia, and like I said all goalkeepers must have an element of error proneness.... Other matches like Nigeria 2-1 Tanzania(their goal came from a defensive slip up leaving him on a one on one situation, not a goalkeeper's fault) Nigeria 3 - 1 Uganda ( same defensive slip up leaving him on a one on one situation, not a goalkeeper's fault) Nigeria 4-0 Mozambique(clean sheet) Nigeria 2-0 Algeria(commanded his defense beautifully and came out with a clean sheet) Nigeria vs Morocco(made so many breathtaking saves to keep the score 0-0 and still made so many penalty saves) Nigeria 0-0 Egypt(made so many saves to keep the game at 0-0 and still made penalty saves to hand us the bronze medal) Nwabali dust all of them..go and watch those games again |

Okoye had the chance to secure his position as Number 1 this break. But now, he has just surrendered the #1 baton to the returning Nwabali again. In the end, we have a game today. Let us not make it about Maduka. ekehopp2: |

🇳🇬 Victor Osimhen will be in Uyo this afternoon to support and watch the Super Eagles take on Madagascar 🇲🇬. The Galatasaray striker has been in Lagos this week, enjoying some time off during his recovery. |

Meanwhile the ScoreNigeria report on Gift Orban better be true. I need that lad in the Naija fold so I can finally drop the Dieudonne Logossou name. In truth, Gift would be quite the addition to the attack. Article below... EXCLUSIVE: Gift Orban cleared to play for Super Eagles A senior official has exclusively told SCORENigeria that joint leading scorer in the Turkish Super Lig, Gift Orban, can now play for the Super Eagles. “Gift is now eligible to play for the Super Eagles,” the official tersely informed SCORENigeria The high-flying striker was first invited to the Super Eagles three years ago, but he eventually did not get to make his debut due to “some administrative issues” even though the NFF announced he was injured in training. The striker was born to a Togolese father and a Nigerian mother. Togo are interested in capping him, but the player himself has said he prefers to feature for the Super Eagles. Gift Orban, who was born in Togo, was sensational for Belgian club Gent after proving himself in the Norwegian second division. He then transferred to top French club Lyon, before he teamed up with German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim. Last season, he played on loan in the Italian Serie A, before he again was loaned out to promoted Amedspor in the Turkish top league for this season. He is currently joint top scorer of the Super Lig with seven goals and two assists same as Mohamed Salah and his club are top of the standings going into the international break. My Footnote: Information on Orban's togo links show that while he was indeed listed as an invitee for a CHAN Qualifiers fixture as a teen academy prospect back in 2018, he did not make an appearance for Togo. He was an unused sub or matchday player. So I really hope this is sorted for good with no future blowbacks.
