Kenya President Visits Dangote Refinary In Ibeju, Lagos

Toured the Dangote Refinery in Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria, at the invitation of Dangote Group President and CEO
@AlikoDangote
ahead of our groundbreaking ceremony for the Dangote East African Refinery in Lamu, Kenya, next week.

The refinery in Nigeria is a massive investment with a crude oil refining capacity of 700,000 barrels a day and produces more than 100 million litres of petrol, diesel and aviation fuel every day. The company has built 120km of sea cables to move crude from ships to the refinery.

This huge achievement is a testament of what African governments, investors and financial institutions can do together.

The refinery whose construction we launch in Kenya next week will be bigger. It will transform the petroleum sector in our country and region, providing fuel reliability and security, scaling up industrialisation and creating 60,000 jobs.

When the refinery is completed, spin off industries will emerge, including the production of fertilisers, chemicals, and packaging.

See the comment of my Kenyan brother again. Your President just came from Lagos to learn yet you are still not giving the due honour to Nigeria.

Pride goeth before disgrace.

His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and Lagos state repositioning Nigeria on the world map!

With the rate of progress and development, Lagos might need purchase Ogun state. The state is already an open air concentration camp and the people will welcome such.

Let's be factual. The Dangote Refinery is a private investment by Aliko Dangote and the Dangote Group. It was conceived, financed and constructed as a Dangote project long before Tinubu became president. Dangote's own corporate history identifies the refinery as a 2023 project, while its operations began in January 2024.

So attaching the refinery's existence or development to Tinubu personally is misleading. You can credit any government for policies or support that affected its operations, but the refinery itself is Dangote's investment, not Tinubu's achievement.

Are tech companies also bandits in selling their shares to investors, and cashing out what their brain and brawn developed?

Indeed, the owner of the PDP licensed private refinery is selling part of his company to raise money for expansion into Kenya for Eastern Africa.

Why should anyone be sad about this huh

Ruto was received by the former Lagos French embassy intern who now runs his own country, and takes care of the Guinean Jagaban of Borgu who abandoned Nigeria for France after he fought and grabbed power, only to hit the ground running with it cluelessly like a headless pig 🐖.

Dangote shouldn't do anything in South Africa. Sure they're jealous. They'll want to have same in their country, just like Dangote is planning one in Kenya.

The problem you will have with your assertion, is that the owner of the business, the man who created it, the man who staked his wealth on it, has said over and over again that without Tinubu's support he would have never been able to actualise it.

So please, should we call Dangote a liar?

Please, this is not like the case of another former governor who is causing trouble everywhere by claiming his achievement was leaving balance for someone to invest in banks to earn interest while his citizens were pouring into other states in search of opportunities and work to feed their family.

It is not like the case of that governor, whose golden investment was putting the state's money in his family owned brewery and then watching the stock of that brewery crash with the state's investment being almost worthless.

This is from the horse's mouth, he started making these statements and acknowledging him even before he became president....this is not revisionism and go and verify oooo

And just in case you still underrate what creating an enabling environment is, here is a brief summary of why, not creating one can mean thousands of jobs and opportunities lost for a state..... please this lesson below has nothing to do with simply putting money in an interest yielding account which any lazy and visionless governor can do.

* Note, there is also a bonus lesson from Daddy Dangote, about securing loans and not using them grin cheesy

It's not Tinubu's support.

Not his money and certainly not wholly his country.

If Nigerians did not allow Dangote, he wouldn't have this refinery.

This is why I loathe oligarchs. They never ever appreciate the common man on whose backs they rode and wormed their way into wealth.

Never the masses. Only their oligarch friends.
