Deputy Governor of Lagos State and Lagos APC Governorship Candidate for 2027, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat yesterday at the PODFEST NAIJA 2026 held at the Harbour Point, Victoria Island. The Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat gave a recap of what the Government has been doing in terms of digital connectivity, he says Lagos is expanding a unified digital infrastructure to support connectivity, entrepreneurship support, healthcare access, smart-city services, and public safety. FIBRE NETWORK EXPANSION: Between 2019 and 2025, Lagos laid more than 3,000 kilometers of fiber infrastructure and is approaching its 6,000-kilometer target, being developed through the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) and $22m direct investment for additional cable expansion. SMART CITY AND HEALTHCARE INFRASTRUCTURE : Fibre connectivity is intended to support faster creator uploads, lower startup costs, and improved access for schools, health centers, and hospitals. Hospitals are being linked so patient records can be retrieved across locations using a patient’s name and record number, regardless of where the patient lives. SAFETY: The State is investing heavily in Security, that has given a boost to economic development, and has made Lagos State the safest State in the country. The state is using geographic information systems, 5G-enabled smart poles, and other smart-city systems to manage infrastructure and data. About 650 cameras have been deployed toward a target of 3,000; expansion is being implemented in batches. STARTUPS RESEARCH SUPPORT: The Lagos State Research and Innovation Council (LASRIC) at is supporting at least 90 research and development projects. More than 200,000 small and medium-sized businesses have received 15 billion Naira in loans and grants, alongside finance and skills support. TRANSPORTATION AND PAYMENT: The Blue and Red rail lines have changed how thousands of Lagosians travel. About 6.2 million Lagosians use Cowry Cards, with a target of enabling one payment method across BRT, ferry and rail services. #KOHLagos2027 #ForwardLagos #ForwardLagosTogether

APC Lagos has perfected ways of deceiving Lagosians with English language! Major reasons they drowned education in the state. They needed a populace who cannot think or decode information’s. Digital connectivity my foot! Lagos and Ogun state people are the dumbest voters we have in the world. MAGA is behind them! Set of people who will see nothing, drown in pains and still keep screaming “Eko o ni baje”. Ask them what has not spoilt and they will turn it to fight and start breaking bottles. I mean a retarded and archaic set, who can barely read and comprehend! Level of in-exposure is highest in Africa despite being a major city. A state you can fool for continuously for 2 decades and they will still keep screaming “Eko o ni baje” even when they are directly affected by the incompetence of several administrations. Now, they are anxious to sign up for another 8 years of woeful failure! |

This is the excellence of execution. We don't need any validation from PO or Obedients. APC is simply the best. Lagos always sets the pace for good governance in Nigeria. |

HacheNoire:I need to understand where you stand exactly. One day you’re singing on your mandate and standing with Tinubu for president. Next day you’re saying APC in Lagos is a failure. Isn’t the APC of Lagos following the footsteps of Tinubu any more? |

Sheuns:I love your question! Being a disciple of the Demigod-His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) does not put me on a one way street. We have underperforming states and never a time have we boasted we got it right across all boards. Look at Ogun state? My stupidity cannot make me applaud that state, how much more my brilliance. I know what Nigerians deserve and being a adherent follower of the Demigod does not make me pass everything affiliated to him. |

HacheNoire:If you’re a disciple of your demigod Tinubu, yet you said Lagos has been on chuckle hold for over 2 decades. Do you want to pretend you don’t know who has been in charge of Lagos for that long? Whose master plan have all of the governors after Tinubu which is also part of those that governed in the over 2 decades of failure you pointed out have they been following? Who’s the king maker in Lagos state? |

Sheuns:The last governor of Lagos was Fashola! He was damn too brilliant and had a dream but constitutional tenure did not permit. Subsequent governors were just wall clocks and door knobs in the government house. |

axglide:Why has the speaking well and fluently failed to deliver something as simple and basic as pipe borne water to all buildings in the state? Why is Lagos setting a bad example for the remaining 35 states and FCT, even though it has grown the state budget 100 times to N4.2 trillion in 27 years, from high revenue generated by increased tax burden on people ![]() The federal government is not responsible for water supply in cities and towns. This is the responsibility of states. InvertedHammer:@@@@@ @@@@@@@@ fergie001: |

HacheNoire:Fashola may be brilliant in stealing money from people for his godfather but he is very clueless and dumb in governance. In eight years of his progreThief tenure, did he achieve anything near what UPN progressive governor Jakande did in just four years of comparative chicken change? Did he achieve a tiny fraction of what Jakande did in basic benefits like free education for all children, low cost housing, water supply, healthcare etc ![]() Splashme:>>> >>> eluquenson: |

Willy2025:Makinde is setting the pace for good governance in Oyo state without calling himself progressive. Do you have anything close to this in basic education and water supply for Lagos state in the last 27 years of Tinubu a-looter master plan?

I fault this Man,, so safety is all about Security Infrastructure What Happened to the Main Safety and Rescue Services. You haven't said anything about installation of Safety Gadgets in Homes or High Rise Buildings Strewned all over Lagos,, acquiring more Modern Fire Fighting Trucks, build more Fire Stations before you can call Lagos the Safest State in a Country of Particular Concern |

Governor candidate for Muslim majority in Lagos state. If he ever won, I hope he won’t bring S. H. A. R. I. A. into Lagos state. |

The Solomons of Lagos State. Through them your expectations about a State( or Federal level) are realized unlike the pioneer who laid the foundation. |
