Kelklein:
The Bible hardly specifically mentioned masturbation.. the only reference to Masturbation (with regards to spilling of seed) is in Genesis 38.9 - read the story of Onan. Onan was punished by God after he refused to ejaculate into his late brother wife whom he inherited after the brother's death as per the tradition of that period, rather he chose to spilled the seed on the ground.. (first early withdrawal technique recorded).
The act became known as Onanism.

OP if masturbation is not a sin, do you mean to validate the acts that urge one to masturbate, like mentally or mindfully visualising the opposite sex nude or watching porn?

Masturbation, the art of self-love or self-service has been in existence for longer than than modern humanity. It has been practised by various species and most importantly by human beings. However the morality of the practice has come into scrutiny more often than not with stiff opposition from Christianity as well as many other religions. But is it really a bad practice as the Church has projected it to be?

Here are some things you need to know:

1. There is no mention of masturbation in the Bible, neither is it condemned or forbidden by any of the Bible's authors, most notably, Masturbation was not mentioned amongst the forbidden sexual pactices listed in Leviticus 18 and 20

2. Moses could not have been ignorant of masturbation. Matsurbation was so common in ancient egyptian culture that it is impossible to say that Moses did not know about it. Here are some of the interwinings of Egyptian culture with masturbation:

• The Creation Myth (The Heliopolitan Cosmogony): The most widespread Egyptian creation story recounts that before the universe existed, there was only a chaotic void and the first god, Atum. Being entirely alone, Atum chose to populate the universe by masturbating to ejaculation. His semen birthed the first pair of twin deities: Shu (the god of air) and Tefnut (the goddess of moisture). This "divine orgasm" was effectively the Egyptian equivalent of the Big Bang.

• The Pyramid Texts and Coffin Texts: This foundational myth was carved directly onto the inner walls of pyramids and written inside sarcophagi. These official sacred texts explicitly credit the origin of life to Atum's hand.

• Pharaonic Rituals: Because the pharaoh was considered a living god on Earth and a mediator of cosmic order (Ma'at), the myth was re-enacted. During annual agricultural festivals (such as the festival of the fertility god Min), the pharaoh would ceremonially ejaculate into the Nile River. This public, ritualistic act was intended to ensure the fertile flooding of the Nile and a prosperous harvest for Egypt.

• Erotic Literature: Beyond religion, documents like the Turin Erotic Papyrus feature secular, graphic, and sometimes satirical depictions of human sexuality—including self-pleasure—showing that it was a normalized concept in everyday Egyptian society.

3.Jesus never condemned masturbation nor reference it though he mentioned lust which in not mutually exclusive to masturbation
With all these, if masturbation was a sin, why didnt Jesus condemn it? Why didnt Moses condemn it as one of the practices of the heathen?

Rather than being a sin or having negative medical effects, masturbation has the advantage of lowering sexual tension and hormonal urges without intercourse thus even helping to fight lust and sexual immorality. So once again, is masturbation a sin or did we make it one?
The brain Gynastistic is uncalled, your arguement is founded EYPGTiAN ( unbelievers)

the fact that God killed eyptian 1st son, killed pharoah and his army is enough testament the eygtians are not in God good book nd can never be cited as role model for believers

Now lets go biblical 2 corinthians 6: 14 Be ye not unrqually yoke together with unbliever.

the porm materials created by unbelievers are facilitators of Masburbation. when you connect with those porn materials you have yoke with unbelievers

Now what is Masturbation without Lust ??
Anser :. Nothing

And what does the Bible say about " LUST"

matt 5:28 "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

single out adultery ...trace it back to lust and trace lust back to Masturbation. You have ur answer
when Moses commandment said thou shall not commit Adultery ..it became a sin. that Mastubation is a derivative of Adultery cos you need to LUST after opposite sex @least to masturbate

You watchig porn makes you equal yoke as Egyptian/unbeliever,, touching yourself becos you lust over a woman breast and yansh in a video or in your head is tantamount to Adultery .. which is a Sin

Your argument is like
1. Cocaine, Heroin, Indian Help are not DIRECTLY written anywhere in the Bible. Hallucinating herbs must have been available at that time thus, it is okay to take drugs

2. Why not pass masturbation through the filter of Phillipians 4:8

Philp 4:8:
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, meditate on these things."

Some activities are more spiritual than tou think!

Now every problem should be tackled from the source.
If a man is hungry he must eat something.
If a man is Hot he needs to quench it
If you can eat without taking another's food you have not sinned.
If you can quench the sex urge without hurting any one or taking another's wife , it is no sin.
The urge was part of our biology , every other animal have the same.
Most rules was not made by God.

Masturbating/masturbation is a strong symptoms of desires of the flesh likened to lustfulness, sensuality and as St. Paul has warned in Galatians 5:19-21 ESV/ Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. and then he goes further to say thus in the following
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans (Roman 8:9.11-13)

Brethren: you are not in the flesh, you are in the spirit, if the spirit of God really dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his spirit who dwells in you. So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh – for if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.

The word of the Lord.

It is one of the sins against the body

Gen 38:9-10

But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother. 10 What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death also.

But health wise, it has no side effect

I want to be very honest with you.

First of all, there is no place in the Bible that explicitly says that masturbation is a sin. However, the Bible speaks strongly against sexual impurity and sexual pollution.

I remember vividly that I started masturbating in 1993, and I continued for almost 30 years.

For me, masturbation became an addiction. It got to a point where, if I did not masturbate in a day, I would not feel like myself. Spiritually, I felt empty. I prayed several times for deliverance, but unfortunately, I kept finding myself going back to it again and again.

In my real life, I wasn't making the kind of progress I should have been making. Even though I was smart and capable in what I was doing, I felt spiritually weak, and I believed that my lack of self-control was affecting my relationship with God and my purpose in life.

Then one day, something remarkable happened.

I was in the bathroom preparing to take my bath and, as usual, I was about to masturbate. Suddenly, something inside me spoke strongly to my heart: I needed to stop. I told myself that if I made up my mind and remained determined, I could overcome it and begin to walk more fully in what I believed God had planned for my life.

That day, I made a decision: I would never masturbate again.

Do you know that from that day until now, I have not masturbated?

I can honestly tell you that the things the Almighty Father has done in my life since then still amaze me to this very minute.

I am sharing this with you not to condemn you or make you feel worthless. I am sharing it because I know what it is like to struggle with this habit for years. I know what it feels like to want to stop but find yourself going back to it.

If you are currently addicted to masturbation, please don't give up on yourself. Make a firm decision, seek God sincerely, and take it one day at a time. You may have fallen many times, but falling does not mean you cannot rise again.

If I could overcome something I struggled with for almost 30 years, I believe you too can overcome it.

I have the privilege to dialogue with so many couples, who are having problems with their partners, the husband is averse to marrying two wife's,the only solution was to mastubate, you will not understand when you condemn such people until you are are trapped in a marriage that your wife gives you a timetable of four times a month, then you will understand that masturbation is the only way out

Ask those struggling with it. Then ask people you look up to in life if they're involved.
Re: Is Masturbation A Sin Or Did We Make It One? by mindhacker90009:
Evil men and women are the ones calling it a sin so that a man can rush into marrying a Jezebel.

When the thing stands up by itself, God have given man a way out by masturbation. But evil wicked men and women are the ones calling it a sin.

It's not in the 10 Commandments so it's not a sin: It is just like say having to urinate is a sin, man get the thing out if you don't have a ready female partner. God no vex. People are ignoring the real sins of wickedness yet they say they are born again.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2. You shall not make or worship idols.
3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
4. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.
5. Honour your father and your mother.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
10. You shall not covet what belongs to your neighbour.

Read 1Cort6:19-20

Thank you.
This you Bible passage did not specifically reference masturbation. You can dececrate your body in many ways. And if you're talking sexual immorality , I can say your passage is refering to incest, animal sex, anal sex,

Please, those reading will want an actual Bible passage that condemns it

Thanks for your testimony.

The truth is masturbation robs one spiritually of their destiny; one just cannot fulfill destiny or progress steadily while busy masturbating, you have to stop 🛑.
