Giving is normal. Unless the church is using Gimmicks from the Scriptures that give so you will be rich.if you don't give Your destiny helper can't locate you. if not, you have issues with giving you better check yourself.

Virtually all the churches in Abegistan Republic do it.

Just yesterday, my own dad put me across to one of them and of course he ended convo with him reeling out the church account. Afterwards I just tell my old man that ain't the church for him.

By far the easiest way to know that your Nigerian church is a huge fraud!

i wish someone can suggest a church that just teaches JESUS

1) not finance
2) they don’t do ‘daddy’ OR ‘mummy GO’. they dont print daddy and mummys picture on banners, as someone mentioned above.
3) no emphasis on 'sowing seeds or paying tithe'
4) no too much emphasis on spiritual attack
5) no hating of "rich people" or "poor people"
6) no interference in your personal life.
eg
- jehovahs witnesses have killed so many people for decades for not allowing blood transfusion only to renege in 2026
- deeper life that made people not watch television for decades only to change later

please people,
which church just preaches JESUS!!!
no culture

If you are a young person that really wants to grow in life, you need to be careful about the type of church you attend, and the kind of messages you listen to.

Your twenties and thirties are formative years. The church you plant yourself in during this season will shape your faith, your thinking, and your future.

Here are five types of churches every young person should run from.

1. The Church That Calls Every Problem a Spiritual Attack

In this church, nothing is ever just normal.
You failed an exam? It's the spirit of failure. You can't find a job? Demons in your village are fighting you. You are sick? It's a generational curse. Your relationship ended? Someone is doing juju against you.
Instead of analyzing what you are doing wrong and adjusting, you are fighting an enemy in the spirit realm while the real problem sits in your habits, your choices, your preparation.

You start believing God has abandoned you to attackers. Every problem becomes proof that you are under siege. You live in constant fear, seeing demons in every disappointment.

Yes, spiritual warfare is real, it is so real but so is personal responsibility. Wisdom knows when to pray and when to study. When to fast and when to see a doctor. A church that never teaches you the difference is setting you up for a life of passivity and paranoia.

2. The Church That Says You Can 'Only' Be Blessed 'Only' Through Sowing Seeds

Need a job? Sow a seed. Need a child? Sow a seed. Need academic excellence? Sow a seed. Need financial breakthrough? Sow a seed.

Every problem has one solution: give money.

This is not faith. This is a ponzi scheme with Bible verses attached.

GOD does not run a transaction business. Sowing should come from a heart that wants to expand God's kingdom not from a desperate person trying to bribe heaven into answering a prayer.

If you are a young person in this church, you will be convinced to pour your small salary into seeds for breakthrough instead of investing in your skills, your education, or your savings. You will give money you don't have, believing that your next gift is the one that finally unlocks your miracle.

God gives seed to the sower. He is the source not your return on investment. A relationship with GOD is not a business deal. Any church that treats it like one is using you and will keep you small.

3. Any Church That Makes You Feel Rich People Are Bad People

Some churches preach in a way that makes you believe every wealthy person is either an occultist, a criminal, or someone who sold their soul to the devil. Money becomes automatically associated with evil. If you have money, you must have done something wrong. If you are poor, you are automatically righteous.

This teaching sounds spiritual. It sounds like it is defending GOD and standing for holiness. But it is actually dangerous, especially for a young person who is trying to build a future.

Why This Is Dangerous
'You cannot become what you despise'.

If deep down you believe that rich people are wicked, you will unconsciously sabotage yourself every time you start making progress. You will feel guilty for wanting more. You will be afraid that success will turn you into the kind of person you have been taught to hate. So you stay small because you have been programmed to fear wealth.

You cannot pray for what you condemn.

You cannot kneel down and ask GOD for financial breakthrough while in your heart you believe that those who have money are criminals. That is a divided heart. GOD is not confused. You are asking for something you have already judged as evil. That prayer will not work because your own belief system is fighting against it.

Many wealthy people got there through:

· Discipline and delayed gratification
· Years of learning and skill development
· Smart investments and financial literacy
· Solving problems that people are willing to pay for
· Building businesses that employ others
· Consistent hard work over many years

4. Churches That Make You Always Pray for a Destiny Helper

Some churches teach that your success in life depends on one mysterious person a "destiny helper" who will suddenly appear and change your life. So every service, every prayer meeting, every vigil, you are crying out for a destiny helper to locate you.

"Father, connect me to my destiny helper."
"Lord, send me a helper from above."
"Any man or woman that will change my story, let them find me this month
."

Why this is dangerous is that it replaces personal responsibility with passive waiting.

Instead of learning a skill, you are waiting for a helper. Instead of applying for jobs, you are waiting for a helper. Instead of saving and investing, you are waiting for a helper. Instead of building your network and adding value to people, you are waiting for a helper.

You become spiritually lazy but emotionally convinced that you are doing the right thing. You are not lazy you are praying. But prayer without works is dead (James 2:26).

While you are praying for miracle alert, miracle money, miracle job, miracle husband, miracle wife, miracle visa, there are people your age learning:

· How to budget and save
· How to invest
· How to build a business
· How to negotiate a salary
· How to develop marketable skills
· How to network effectively
· How to manage their time and resources

5. The Church That Demands Unquestioning Obedience to Leadership

In this church, the pastor is GOD'S only mouthpiece for your life.
You are told not to question. Not to think too hard. Not to leave because leaving is rebellion against GOD HIMSELF. They control who you date, what career you pursue, where you live, what you wear. Your personal convictions are dismissed if they don't align with the pastor's.

The pastor becomes a mediator between you and God. You can't hear God for yourself anymore you need to go through him.

As a young person, this stunts your growth. You never learn to hear GOD'S voice for yourself. You never develop discernment. You become dependent on a human being instead of the Holy Spirit.
Any church that punishes questions is afraid of what you will find. Any leader who can't be questioned shouldn't be followed.

You are not getting what the op is saying!

He is not saying that God is not with these churches.
He is simply saying that these churches are manipulating people psychologically for their own financial gain and they are not teaching people what they should teach from the bible.

It's like you are paying school fees, yet the school is teaching you that 1+1=3

Young and educated upcoming generation should be wiser
You're the one not getting the OP, he's saying SUCH CHURCHES SHOULD BE AVOIDED, and why will you avoid a place except God is not there
Re: 5 Types Of Churches Every Young Person Should Avoid. by sammiewrite(m): 1:24pm On Sep 27
Even though the OP didn't mention it, but the likes of Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, Deeper Life, Redeem, Winners, Christ Embassy, Mountain of Fire, Four Square, etc. have been around for some time, their imperfections are well known, and that is why we are getting to talk about it. Don't because of the flaws of these denominations, though, start experimenting with the new, untested names that are propping up everyday. Don't go from frying pan to fire. If someone approaches you as a young person and all through the conversation didn't mention the denomination they represent, ask. If they're unwilling to share, take that as your first red flag. If they share and it is a name you have never heard of, bounce them immediately!

I got to know about a brilliant LASU law student recently through my sister who was unfortunate with one of those cults disguising as churches. As of 300 level when my sister left LASU, this boy was on first class. Somehow, these guys manage to isolate and relocate him to their so-called mission house where they eventually finish him completely because from what it is looking like, even though the boy is not forthcoming, he didn't graduate. The boy I'm talking about has tried to open up to my sister's friend a couple of times and has mentioned on more than one occassion that he is being tracked.

Maximum respect sir! These are true talk. However, if you are looking for a perfect church on earth there is none. Infact, if eventually or by mistake you see a perfect church don't go there. The reason is because you too is imperfect, so if immediately you join them it can not be said that they are perfect again because an imperfect thing have joined them or touched them.

Go to church, read your Bible and practice what you see inside. Forget about mans theology. I believe if you were in the position to create your own theology it won't be so perfect.

God bless you.

Bro what happened?
Who made you a judge of character here?
Are you not afraid to speak for the Lord? Are you anointed that thou should lift up thy voice in the place of the Lord either to condemn or to justify? Humble thyself before the good hand of the Lord, lest bitterness springing up troubles you and thereby many be defiled.

The church that like to intimidate the unmarried.
Very true e.g Rccg what's with specifying family groups during first Sunday of the month thanksgiving?they will first of all call the children, then the youth, the good women, finally the faithful fathers to come and pay their offerings from that youth own all the congregations will know the youths that are ripe for marriage but not yet married

when I was in ikole rccg comforters parish they just call every body to dance to the altar for their thanksgiving offering and prayer although the children are called differently but after I relocated to ado then finally to Ijero I saw how different their rccg modes of procession and offering is I don't even cac too does it

Threats and old bible English will not work.

Answer the question : Are these churches guilty or they are not guilty?

If truly they are guilty, you will see that with time, people will begin to avoid them like plague.
It is gradually happening.

It is not by juju or threats or speaking in tongues or in old bible English grin grin cheesy

You see, your breath is bad and you do err indeed. For you know not the power of God for certain. There is nothing like old Bible English. If I decide to use "thou" for an example it doesn't mean it can not also be expressed the other way round. But since the weight of what is to be communicated is heavy the thing you call old Bible English is employed (they are heavy expressions.) I already told you, there is no perfect Church on earth; incase you see one don't join them because you are going to make them imperfect since you yourself is not a perfect person too. If you don't go there how can you change or help them? While you are able to see the faults, it could be that even the pastor is not seeing it not to talk of the members. So the Lord allowed you to see the errors as a burden he is placing on you to do something or help carry his cross. But here you are despising the cross of Jesus Christ thinking you are despising man or you are doing anything better.

Is that so? grin grin

You must be a comedian
I already told you, there is no perfect Church on earth;
you are very right!
There is no perfect church on earth just like there are no perfect schools.
But just like school could carry out research before teaching people, i expect churches in Nigeria to do the same.

Christianity is one religion worldwide but churches in Africa want to say that they belong to winners, others redeem, others Aladura, others catholic.

Does this wahalla or division worth it?
Life is very simple o
While you are able to see the faults, it could be that even the pastor is not seeing it not to talk of the members. So the Lord allowed you to see the errors as a burden he is placing on you to do something or help carry his cross.
certainly!
May be some time in the future i may pick that responsibility and set up a digital platform solely used to create awareness of what Christians like me in Africa should know in the bible that may eventually make them free from the bondage of religion deep inside their minds.
Because this whole error is not even coming from the pastors in the real sense. It is coming from the minds of the church members.
So the pastors instead of correcting the expectations of church members, have read their minds and start dishing out what they want as doctrine instead of what the bible teaches, so that they will keep coming to church
But here you are despising the cross of Jesus Christ thinking you are despising man or you are doing anything better.
Now look it this way!
We have read in the bible how Paul had rebuked Peter to correct an error. Will you say that Paul had despised the cross for doing that since Peter was personally chosen by Jesus Christ?

We are all in the body Christ, corrections are not taboo here, thank God you started by saying that no one is perfect .

If the church in Nigeria is doing well, it will reflect in the nation.
Righteousness exalt a nation

Nah! you've heard from some.
Even the unrepentant sinner who has ever attended Winners knows GOD is present with us
Godspowerpro, the problem with we humans is that we only want to "stand" on what we feel is the truth and not what the truth "is or "says".

Just because someone mentioned that he has gone to your "winners" several times to know that it's no different from the rest does not negate the fact he is lying, inshort with your wonderful write-ups I expected you to have responded in a Christ-like manner by not shrugging it off because I believe the guy literally knows what he is saying.

There are many winners branches and I know you have not been to all.

My point is, why defend your "own" and call the rest "bad"! You wouldn't have included any name of church or are you trying to tell us that we can't find all of the five points you just listed at winners?

Please this is not a debate or an argument, it's just that I'm concerned.

The mentioning of church name is the "issue".

I have attended winners headquarters severally, I love the church and I know what they preach there but have the Op gone to all of there branches to be able to affirm that none of the branches is found culpable on is 5 point list?

There are many churches that preach Christ and they never swindle people of their hard earn money or take their gullibility for an exchange of ridicule.

What I'm saying here is, let's not always see from our own lenses of reasoning only because at a point in time you will need to adjust it when it dampened.

Looking at the first two points the op raised :
1. The Church that calls every problem a spiritual attack
2. The Church that says you can 'only' be blessed 'only' through sowing Seeds

Winners chapel are guilty of these fallacies, true or false?
