Of course we should have our own standard academies. What does this have to do with Europe? Why rely on Europe, when you can do it by yourself right in Nigeria, and possibly do something even better. But you don't believe that.

Blueelf:
Morocco is ranked no 5 worldwide

Most of their players (if not all) were educated in European football academies or in standard Moroccan academies

You can talk about Guinea bissau all you like b7t I don't think Morocco is getting beaten 3:0 on whatever kind of pitch they play on

Your boys are wack. Except for iwobi. Calvin and osimhen, the other have to start earning their place in that team henceforth

@Kog45, u self no try.We no fit blame person wey no come. We fit talk say him no serious, but that one self na opinion, fair though. I don't trust Okoye's goalkeeping abilities too, partly because he has a slow reaction time. But abeg no blame Okoye for this one. Nwabali's reaction time especially for that first goal was damn slow. He was rooted to the spot.
JohnBullMySon:
One thing about agenda is that it will make you contradict yourself without realising it.

You first said Okoye from his profile will make the same mistakes and there will be no difference. Next you implied that the loss is partly Okoye's fault for not showing up to camp on time, keeping Nwabali as no 1.

What you don't realize is that in the context of the outcome of that match, these two things cannot both be true at the same time.

On a serious note, Chelle should really reflect on this loss. He has to look into the mirror and take a long hard look at himself and his tactics. Chelle had a free hand to invite the players he wanted, he is not new to them, he selected the team for the game and decided on the team's set-up. Am not calling for his sack o, but there are lessons to be learned for sure and I hope he learns them well.

Meanwhile when is our match against Russia?
Once a coach loses his ruthless streak and becomes sentimental in terms of players selection he is on his way down. Westerhof was a success with us because of his ruthless streak. He went through over 200 players in 4 years. Na the same sentiment kill Rohr.

If you guys went through my post, you can clearly observe that I never at any time questioned Ndidi's love and commitment to Nigeria. I might have sounded harsh in my criticism of Ndidi, but make no mistake about it, Wilfred Ndidi in his prime was a beast, and I rated him very highly. He was just as good as Kante in that DM role in his prime. Seeing some scrubs who cannot even clean his clits in his prime win the midfield battle against him really got me bleeped up. The passion and fire I can tell you is still burning in him, but the mileage in that body has pilled up, and the body simply cannot respond to what the heart desired.

Ndidi will be 30 years old in December. Some players still play and perform for their national team in their late 30s. If I were to advise Ndidi, I will tell him to take an extended period break from the national team and simply concentrate on his club. He should fight to get his starting spot back at Besiktas. Take the stress of international football off that body for at least 2 years, get his deserved rest during international breaks, and then see how he feels as time goes by. If down the road he feels that he is back at his best and his club form is showing to the world that Willf is back, then he can make himself available for selection.

You're too nice, as for me I don't care if Ndidi chooses to take a break, left for me... let him along with Simon Moses, Onyeka, Ajayi, and Osayi all retire and focus on their respective clubs. We're long overdue for fresh ideas in that team, for about 7-10 years now we've had the same core of mainstay players who have not won anything for Nigeria. The only player from this generation who has gotten slightly better in his career trajectory is Chukwueze under Amorim. Even players like Lookman, Iwobi and Chukwueze need to be benched so we can explore new options like Zadok, Femi Azeez, Tyrique George etc.

Osimhen deserves better and younger players around him to win something before he slips away from his prime years with nothing to show for it...we have failed to qualify for two world cups and it's not mere coincidence that all those players I've mentioned (Iwobi, Ndidi, Simon, Lookman, Ajayi, Chukwueze and Osayi) were all common factors in those failures under different coaches. That midfield needs a whole new chop and change look, same as the attack (thank God for Ilenikhena)...

I want Chelle to man up for once and stop inviting or playing "names" because he doesnt want to hurt his so called experienced players, I need him to be ruthless and start building HIS OWN TEAM, experiment with younger players, take chances! at least if you fail with those new options then let it be that you tried.

A goalkeeper who has a slow reaction time cannot pull double saves in the manner that Maduka Okoye does.

Maduka Okoye's ball distribution could have come handy against Guinea Bissau. Remember our goal vs Portugal

Lmao true sha, honestly we need to phase out so many players in this team, apart from Iwobi, Bassey and of course Osimhen the other so called established older players are stumbling blocks and are just not good enough anymore. I can bet that our U23 team would have done better against Guinea Bissau, very soon Seychelles go begin beat us if we don't get our acts together fast.

Get emotions out it mate. Michael Jordan despite being the greatest basketball to walk the surface of the earth cannot beat any current NBA basketball player today in a 1 v1 action. Father's time is undefeated. Wilfred Ndidi in his prime will get in to the starting lineup of 99 percent of national teams in the world. Intact i had him in my top 5 best defensive midfielders in the world. Leicester city ran him to the ground. Injuries took a toll on him and there are just too many miles in that body and body no be firewood. Ndidi
personally knows he is not the player he once was. It happens to everyone. Victor Osimhen will one day start slowing down. I am not a professional athlete but I used to play ball with these young kids at the gym but as am getting older myself now hanging with these young boys is becoming harder. Ndidi was a baller but the millage in that body of his has caught up with him.
Every player will one day face a decline in performance, including Wilfred Ndidi, but as it stands, I am yet to see a noticeable decline in Wilfred Ndidi's performances. Instead I see improvements, especially in his game of passes.
He wins his duels, and completes most of his passes.

imagine a player that in games contributes to defense more than any midfielder and sometimes even more than defenders including CB's. In the game against Madagascar he contributed to defense more than any player on the pitch (this includes defenders). In the game against Guinea-Bissau, only Calvin Bassey and Jefferson Encada who are both defenders had more contributions to defense.

Only Calvin Bassey completed more passes of the ball in the game against Madagascar, that tells you how much of the ball flows through Wilfred Ndidi, Against Guinea-Bissau only Alex Iwobi completed passes of the ball more than Wilfred Ndidi.

You guys can talk all you can, Wilfred Ndidi remains one of the most important players in the Super Eagles fold

That's how to do it.

Here, some paid individuals are still trying to fault the players instead of the incompetent coach that has brought no improvement to the team since he took over.

Why do the Super Eagles play so well during major tournaments but consistently struggle during qualifiers? We easily thrashed teams like Uganda and Mozambique in the last AFCON, yet if we faced them right now in a qualifier, we would likely struggle to beat them.
We desperately need to get to the bottom of this issue because it is completely obvious that the problem goes much deeper than just the coaches and the players

I can say 60percent of d reason is more of pitch issues …I have been saying it for a very long time aside d management issue..check games where we struggled to beat dis “minnows” or where we were defeated,it was mainly more of pitch issues

Chai, na im be say no afcon for us. Madagascar too get bad pitch so na sure banker for them. Also since it is political season, the Uyo stadium is likely to deteriorate, it is already sef, na make we just accept our L in peace, we might lose to Guinea Bissau again and maybe draw with Tanzania.

The bad pitch excuse some people are giving for this type of scandalous loss is not an excuse,
because countries like Morocco,Senegal and CIV could still go there and beat them convincingly on the same pitch, and they all play in Europe same as our players.

Na the players and coaches knows what's the problem why they have to let GB trash them like this.

If we are to move forward and reclaim our status, the NFF should take our youth teams very serious as part the rebuilding process.
Our U17,U20 and U23 is the foundation.
When our youth teams performs excellently at the world cups, the standout players got signed by European clubs, eventually it rubs off on our senior team, coupled with some excellent foreign borns, there would be plenty of good players to select and form a formidable squad.

When the Super Eagles qualify for world cup and performs well at the world, that's when the top clubs won't have choice but to sign them.
It is particularly hard for Nigerian players to get signed by top clubs these days,so if the super eagles players have any ambitious of playing for top clubs, doing well at the world cup is the key.

If we don't have at least one,two or three of players playing for big clubs,as big footballing nation,it would be difficult for us to dominate and win trophies, other countries won't fear and respect us as one of the powerhouses.

If Brazil for instance don't have some their players as one of the best of best players in the world,a Balon d’or worthy kind,it would be difficult for them to win the World cup.
A big footballing nation should have their players at some of the best clubs in the world.

Don't follow and pamper these players,
the same pitch you and your opponent is playing is not an excuse to lose,
getting a draw is ok,but losing to an opponent you are way superior because of pitch is unacceptable.

Since they discovered that the pitch was bad,if they were serious enough, they should have came up with new strategy to get a result,or at least not being disgraced.

Yes, the same call that was made for Mikel. Was Mikel ever appreciated. All kinds of complaints were made of Mikel, complaints like "He is sluggish, He slows down our game" and all kinds of uninformed takes.

We are yet to get a like for like replacement for Mikel The closest is Kelechi Nwakali, whom many of you detest for reasons that has nothing to do with his abilities.

When has Wilfred Ndidi ever been loved or appreciated, even during his early years in the EPL, you guys will find one thing or the other to criticise about him. Your criticisms of Wilfred Ndidi is that his legs are gone. When has Wilfred Ndidi ever had legs in the eyes of the likes of you. Has Wilfred Ndidi ever had legs?

The truth is never with the majority. All it takes to start a mob action is just one ill informed take and every other person blindly joins the procession without asking real questions or seeking facts.

You bring your feelings which are subjective, I table stats which are objective. The stats prove many of you wrong, but no, you must say out your feelings whether they are true or not.

Wilfred Ndidi is a much improved player. More improved than what I use to know about him. Take it or leave it, it doesn't change anything.

On a serious note, the pitch is only one of the many factors. Like Truidstarr said, Chelle has to be ruthless

Fair point.

ScoreNigeria also reported protests by the players on the GNB pitch pregame and post game.

Be that as it was, a draw would have sufficed. Chelle should have managed the situation tactically and see us get a draw. He failed the plot coz he refused to read the room.
