Morning wonderful people, for anyone using the Trustbanc app.. how long did it take for the profile to get updated? Can I just start investing while waiting for an update on my submitted documents? I'm planning on migrating away from cowrywise with their embargo on topups ( I get the feeling they'd still introduce an update that'd force people to migrate to their native or managed funds anyway) |

Coolis:If anyone notice, my participation for here has reduced to almost non-existent. I keep saying it: many people here are not ordinary end-users. Marketers and staff follow dey. Don’t just digest everything you read online. Apply common sense join! FirstAlly is not the only platform with a shitty architecture. It’s almost a norm in Naija; some just overdo it. You need to build a thick skin for most "Made in Nigeria" products. When they tell you 1 hour, assume 5 hours or even the next day. E be like person wey borrow money say e go pay back in 2 days. Me, I go mentally add extra 3 days join. On that 2nd day, I no go even ask you. I go wait till day 5. (Well, that was when I was still innocent + stupid enough to lend people money). This is why you must pick a platform with a trustworthy company behind it: • Stanbic IBTC: All through when their rates were the lowest, I never pulled my funds. I only stopped adding more and added another platform. They misbehave sometimes, but their PROs far outweigh their CONs. Nobody convinced me to pick them; I did my own long-term findings. • Norrenberger: They get their own issues too. But the moment you find a way to handle their CONs, life becomes simple. It’s like those around Ikotun in Lagos—no sane person enters First Bank or GTB around Ikotun and expects quick service. Just assume it's gonna take a day and mayBe come with ya smartphone to watch movies or listen to music while other sane humans lament. If I visit you expecting food and you don't feed me, I'll be disappointed. But if I wasn't expecting anything, whether you feed me or not, I won't even notice. Once you build your mind this way, getting worked up or disAppointed becomes hard. Next time any platform gets issues, just give them time. Don’t take any timeframe seriously, even if na God talk am. Sometimes Norrenberger refuses to log me in or open at all. Me? I go just forget them till further notice—maybe 1 week. Get busy enough that it doesn't matter. Above all, don't follow people blindly. Most people are self-centered when making recommendations. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 12:29pm On Sep 30 |
Neurotika:Back then, dem use to call me "black cat." Some platforms don turn person to open-source where you go dey rely on fellow nerds just to troubleshoot issues. I have account with them since 9 months ago, but I never see reason to fund am. Me no dey rush. Once I pick you, I no dey hurry go anywhere. So far, Norrenberger and Stanbic IBTC dey try. I rate Norrenberger because you fit easily reach their people. • @Coolis, why you end your comment like Donald Trump? • @NJV, leaving FirstAlly na one thing, but make sure your money enter Stanbic or Norrenberger. Dem get their small issues, but dem manageable. Stanbic own na say dem be proper oga—dem no dey chase person up and down with over-high rates. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 12:37pm On Sep 30 |
Bluearrow:Industry standard na night or weekend maintenance make users no suffer. If bank try run update for 12 noon, customers go carry their money go another place sharp sharp. Advance notice no be excuse for bad timing; you only notify people when disaster or unavoidable work happen outside normal hours. meanWhile, from a distance, firstAlly is actually kinda responsive in their ways of handing things. Just that the frequency of their upDates is becoming something else. Facebook, whatsApp, etc; releases updates, how often does it negatively affect users. You don't update an active production system like it's a staging area |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 12:47pm On Sep 30 |
Gotocourt:If OTP via sms delays, na to check email. if both delays (very very rare), it's from stanBic and most times, dem go don even tell you with that their "It's Us, not You" comment directly above the login area |

Coolis:sometime 2 years ago, I shared how I have account with 4 providers and the experts then all came for ma head. last year I repeated it and I was even adviced to stay with 1 or at most 2. This year, a lot of those advicers started jumping around like they're changing pads. One need not necessarily be an expert to have some level of common sense. Just have a plan and stick to it. As for trustbank and cowrie, I don't even know what their logo looks like; probably because I'm not hunting for highest rates |

Onlinebiz247:this is old method of funding stanbic MMF but have been disContinued. New method is: Go to https://blunest.stanbicibtcassetmanagement.com/wallets/ngn/ and follow the screenshot below When you click on Fund wallet as shown on the first image below, a popUp appears. Enter the amount (often a minimum of 5,000 naira), click on next and you would see the second image below. Then click next and it would show you the account number to make a bank transfer to as shown on the 3rd image. You are free to now copy that bank details out so next time, you wouldn't have to log into your account to fund your wallet. if you observed, I choose bank Transfer , and not ZEST because to me, ZEST ain't fast enough + not free

| Re: Mutual Funds by Iamblessed8888: 1:05pm On Sep 30 |
bassdow:Yup Firstally is actually cool, and this is coming from me that was close minded about new Fund managers some months back. Even stanbic goes several hours sometimes without you being able to log in. As we speak they have even sent another maintenance email. Will recommend Firstally any day for diversification. They are probably the best after stanbic. High rates plus instant withdrawal plus withdrawal on sundays plus very responsive customer care. Hardly will you find all these in one Fund manager, not even stanbic. What people are not saying is that when the update happened, they provided an alternative means of redemption. What they should try to avoid is day time updates but even that is not as frequent as is being implied. If you ever top up with Firstally, you will hate stanbic’s process even after the improvements |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 1:29pm On Sep 30 |
Iamblessed8888:Really I rarely have issues with topUp. Me sabi adjust except the platform really is very very bad. Whether stanbic, or Norrenberger, or which ever one, I ensure I only fund accounts during business hours and before 11:30am or at most before 12pm. That way, chances of disAppointment is very very rare. For years, me never get issues with any of them except once with Stanbic, and once with Norrenberger BUT like said, me go just figure out ways to avoid issues. If I want to fund an account and I see it's almost 12Noon, if I c an't finish up before 11:45am, na to leave am next business day. That trick has constantly worked for me. Me no want to fund account come way more than 1 day to see result. There's even an issue that I learnt to overCome on Norrenberger which only occurs randomly towards monthEnd where the money go enter, e go show for dashboard, but e no go gree subscribe |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Iamblessed8888: 3:03pm On Sep 30 |
bassdow:Exactly, sometimes some of these platforms have inherent limitations one needs to find ways to outsmart. But trust me, with First Ally, you can top up anytime and it starts counting for you immediately, even on sundays or at mid night. I would rank them above Norrenberger to be honest. Test and see with a little amount and you would understand what im saying. With stanbic, you need to wait for them to apply it after deduction from your wallet, sometimes its fast and sometimes it drags snd definitely not during weekends but Firstally applies immediately any time of the day, whether 3am or weekend. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 3:15pm On Sep 30 |
Iamblessed8888:Wouldn't disput your contribution AND yea, I am aware of how fluid firstAlly can be hence reason I suggested the other person not to be quick to leave. BUT then again, I don't just choose a platform any how because their rates are high or funds are quick to appear when funded. One just need understand they can't get it all. And I got no issue with the likes of Stanbic or Norrenberger that takes a couple of hours to appear after funding. I'm neither quick to JOIN nor LEAVE hence I take ma time. My motive might never be same as the next person hence what worked for me might not for the next person. For the fact I registered an account with them this past 9-months is enough indication of interest; whether I end up funding it or not, time would tell. Being on a supposed BEST platform ain't enough. Having and sticking to a plan is. If you collect salary of 1-million naira monthly BUT have no plan or Vision, you could end up worse than One with PLAN earning only 400,000 naira monthly. Some of us even don't know there's a best time to get serious with Equities, and when to get serious with MMF. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 4:07pm On Sep 30 |
@bassdow, you made a very valid point here... I agree with you completely. It is not always about high rates or swift redemption or subscrption of new funds.. Stanbic IBTC and Norrenberger operates in a very unique ways you can't fully explain to those looking for high rates and swift responses to everything.... bassdow: |

| Re: Mutual Funds by NJV: 4:46pm On Sep 30 |
bassdow:Thank you for the advice. I've actually moved my funds to ARM like I did say. I think I'm more conversant with their operations for now. Though I'm setting up my stambic account on the Bluenest app in preparation for some diversification by January. My only problem is that my profile updated is perpetually at 70% and showing as "Basic". I hope it completes to 100% by then. But then I don't really know if I can operate it with that Basic level without any problems. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 10:40pm On Sep 30 |
NJV:Forget about attaining 100% or it ever showing 100% on the stanbic IBTC dashboard. Just ensure you have uploaded necessary required documents and you've been cleared. The moment you're able to invest beyond 300,000 naira (actually > 200,000 naira), you're good to go |

I placed a withdrawal on first ally last night till now I have not been credited this people matter don tire me |
| Re: Mutual Funds by NJV: 7:47am On Oct 01 |
Ogborokiri:Call their number. I had to do that when I moved my funds after 12 hours I called them. Besides, I think I saw something like withdrawal after 5pm will henceforth be treated the next day. I cannot find it again, I think I saw it at the point of withdrawing. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by emmaBS(m): 9:36am On Oct 01 |
Ogborokiri:Seriously? I made a withdrawal yesterday morning, and I was credited immediately. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Iamblessed8888: 9:40am On Oct 01 |
Ogborokiri:At this point, the criticisms are not fair anymore. I think you should close your account and move elsewhere.Didn’t you see it there that the cutoff for withdrawal is 5pm? You placed a withdrawal presumably after close of business, at a time even you were not in the office, and this morning that is a public holiday, you are expecting it first thing already. Is it not human beings thst will process it? Who resumes in the office before 8am even on a work day? Not to talk of a holiday? The fact you were even expecting it at such odd hours says alot about the fund manager already. Try withdrawing from GT or any of the others and come tell us if you receive it before 2 or 3 days. I wont be surprised if First Ally cancels this immediate withdrawal thing soon. I hope they do even. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Iamblessed8888: 9:44am On Oct 01 |
emmaBS:Dont mind them. I always wonder what the customer service of some of these companies face. No wonder they end up becoming rude to even people with genuine issues |

Ogborokiri:Seems u are here to discredit first ally after the recommendation from some of us that shared our positive experience. Everyone kept attacking first ally for not able to withdraw, even after they clearly stated they are under maintenance & provided alternative redemption method. Someone was even exaggerating saying diservice of such magnitude bla bla...These are same people that deposit in other fund managers & it takes forever to reflect & withdraw. Few months ago I sent funds to gt fund manager & paramount, weeks my money didn't reflect. I deposit in first ally 11:30pm today, interest is added the next day. I'm not affiliated to first ally in any way, but if I see wetin good, I go talk am. Alot of us suffered in the hands of these fund managers before discovering first ally. I did a project recently, na from first ally I fund that project & not for one day did I experience any disappointment. |

FIXED INCOME MARKET REVIEW — SEPTEMBER 2026 September was a big month for Nigeria's fixed income market. From MPR "reset" to JP Morgan and FTSE Russell's upgrade. Here’s what happened: 📉 CBN cut rates for the first time in over a year — MPR down from 26.5% to 23%. The CBN Governor, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso called it a "reset," but the market read it as the start of rate cuts. 💸 T-Bill yields crashed. 1-year bill fell from 17.15% to 15.89% in just 3 weeks. Investors subscribed over N4.2 trillion for just N1tn offered. 🏦 OMO demand hit record N20.6 trillion in September. Why? CBN now allows everyone — not just banks — to buy. System liquidity surged to a record N8.84 trillion today. 📊 Bills vs Bonds split. Everyone bought short-term T-Bills, but sold long-term FGN Bonds. Average bond yield up to 15.7%. 🌍 Nigeria is back on global radar. JP Morgan is adding Nigeria back to its local currency bond index after 10 years out. Alongside FTSE Russell's equity upgrade last week, this means foreign money is coming back. Rates are falling, liquidity is high, and Nigeria is back on foreign investors’ shopping list. |
