A US judge dismissed a federal case on Thursday that accused a Jamaican national of illegally voting, finding the law criminalizing noncitizen voting was unconstitutional and delivering a blow to the Trump administration’s campaign against alleged election fraud.

The ruling by Miami-based US District Judge David Leibowitz applies only to the case of Florida resident Chelsea Cox, who was charged in October 2025 with illegally voting in the 2020 election.

Biden judge went through a 40 year old law ,he found the constitution grants the states sole rights to enact voting requirements.

Basically of the several hundred or thousands of cases under investigation should be prosecuted by the States not the DOJ. The others can use this ruling to have their cases dismissed.

I believe this will be overturned eventually but it buys time for midterm elections.
By implication if a state decides 17 year olds can vote then that's cool.

Republicans have the majority in the Senate ,John Thune has refused to advance the nominations of US Attorneys.
Only Congress + Senate can impeach these activist judges ,that will not happen under Trunp so the insane rulings keep piling up. Judges looking to prop up the resistance.
