DISCLAIMER

The 110 km Circular Road project is being constructed by the H.E. Seyi Makinde-led Oyo State Government. The Federal Government needs to stop claiming the project as one of its own achievements. The project is not "state-led" as stated in today's Punch Newspaper; it is 100% being executed by the OYSG.

This penchant for stealing OYSG projects needs to stop! The other day, Minister Nyesom Wike LIED that the FG gave Oyo State N50B for the Ibadan Airport upgrade project. The Ibadan Airport upgrade is another project being executed 100% by the OYSG, which the FG, through its agents, including HoR member Akin Alabi, has been trying to claim credit for.

Just like Ogun state governor, they look at all the critical priorities and settle for the most profitable to their bank accounts!

What does Oyo state need an airport for when public education, healthcare, and critical infrastructure are in ruins?

Why are they so much in a hurry to pump billions into airport renovation or construction.

Oyo people will have another opportunity to get it right. Past 8 years already wasted.

Good one. I hope they will later not write it as part of project executed that the FG is owing them money for.

Everyone knows any project approved by FG can be executed by the state government (if they think it's of utmost priority and FG is delaying) and they later collect the money back from FG.

Since we have read here that it belongs to the state government we shouldn't read it elsewhere or years to come that FG is owing Oyo state for projected executed on her (FG) behalf o.

Makinde feels aggrieved by the FG taking credit for projects executed wholly by the OYSG.

No one likes to see another person take the glory for what they have laboured for.

On the other hand, Makinde shouldn't discount the efforts of the FG in providing the enabling environment for his project to succeed, in the form of security and funds disbursed regularly to his state through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) system every month.

It is difficult to see how fighting with the FG on an issue like this benefits the interests of the people of Oyo State.
