Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by sonmvayina(op): 12:18pm On Feb 28
For most of my life, I believed Jesus was historical.

But then I decided to do my own independent research, and came to the conclusion that the “evidence” for a historical Jesus falls into one of the following categories:

Blatant lies such as the bible’s two completely contradictory “virgin birth” fabrications. what are their purpose anyway?
Forgeries such as the notorious Testimonium Flavianum of Josephus, half the epistles of Paul, and all the epistles of Peter, James and John.
A few historians repeating christian cult propaganda, a century or more after the fact, or fiction.
Lies are not evidence.

Forgeries are not evidence.

Hearsay in the form of parroted gossip is not evidence.

Thus there is no actual evidence that Jesus was a real person, or any of his apostles.

They are all unknown to actual history.
Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by sonmvayina(op): 12:42pm On Sep 30
For most of my life, I assumed Jesus was a historical figure, but then I decided to research the subject independently, and discovered to my surprise that there isn’t any credible evidence of Jesus being a real person, apart from the copious propaganda of the christian cult and a few non-christian writers repeating bits of that propaganda a century or more after the fact, or fiction.

And in a primitive game of telephone, a century is plenty of time for a mythical minnow to evolve into a mythical whale.

The simple truth, and secular historians and even conservative christian bible scholars will confirm this, is that there is no evidence that anyone living while Jesus was allegedly alive wrote anything about him, outside the christian bible.

And many bible scholars doubt that anyone inside the christian bible knew Jesus or had access to eyewitnesses.

If I asked christians if they believed the propaganda of the moonies, or the Jim Jones cult, or any other cult, they would of course say, “No!”

Why believe what cultists say, without evidence?

There are good reasons to be skeptical about what cults say about their alleged “messiahs,” but for some reason one cult avoids the general skepticism.

Why is that?

One rather obvious reason is that a recent survey reported by David Fitzgerald revealed that 41% or more of bible scholars are employed by religion-associated organizations that require them to sign statements of faith. Such scholars can be fired for saying something “heretical” that contradicts their “faith” and nothing could be more heretical than saying, “Jesus may not have actually existed.”

I say “or more” because many organizations refused to respond to the survey.

Thus the percentage could be much higher.

Bible scholars have to eat and pay their bills, and most of them have families to support, so it’s understandable that many of them express doubts in private but refuse to voice those doubts in public.

And yet, I have been able to compile a list of 352 scholars and researchers with “degrees galore” who have expressed doubts.

The funny thing is that there are lots of things to counter him with. OP's HUGE mistake is that he is confusing Jusus' stature now with his stature back then. His followers were neither scholars nor writers. His story was passed on by word of mouth till it was writen down. It is a historical fact that there were lots of crucifixions back then. It is as if OP heard this theory of Jesus never existing somewhere then put on blinders and has refused to actually logically examine what he heard. He kept saying Eusebius wrote St. Paul's letters even after being shown that Eusebius was born centuries after Paul's letters were writen!

Why would emperor of Rome invent a god that makes him (a worshipped god) a lowly sinner like everyone else?! Why would Rome invent a god that they, Romans, crucified? A god that puts them in bad light? Why would Rome invent a god to supplant all their gods that helped them become a great empire? Why would Rome invent a god that advocated ignoring things of this world, including Rome, and focusing on the hereafter? Etc.
It is as if OP has refused to think.
To top it all off same Jesus is alive and working today, exactly as he said he would! We must accept there are things beyond our understanding as humans. This is one of them!

You're asking those questions because you don't realize that in ancient times, people often switched from one God to another. It was nothing to be ashamed of.

Before Jesus, Rome invented the God Mithra which they copied from Persia (Iran). Mithra was also above the Roman Emperor and had most of the attributes as Jesus.

So, the Jesus myth wasn't the first time Rome invented a God that was above the Emperor. And nothing in history says they won't invent another in the great future.

Who is talking about switching gods? We're talking a god that you killed, that puts you in bad light and makes your god/emperor just another lowly sinner needing lsalvation, just like everyone else! That tells everyone to ignore you and focus on rhe hereafter, that says rich men like your emperor won't make heaven
A god whose disciples you horribly persecuted and tried to stamp out!

The problem is that you don't know the source of the story.

Be informed that all the older Christo-messiahs before your Jesus also died in the hands of their enemies. Yet, even those older Christo-messiahs aren't the source of the story.

We all also believed the Bible myth like you but as adults we went into research.

The source of the story isn't a human being being killed but a snake being killed by haters as it's still being done today.

In ancient times the snake was the symbol of the Savior.

That's the PRIMARY SOURCE of the story but it took several thousanss of years to evolve into an emotional story of a human being killed on the cross. The story is the reason you're hooked. And it was created by political actors to achieve exactly the same thing.

Attached is a picture of one of the oldest symbol of the Savior (snake) killed and hanged on a tree.

If you're interested in the details, see one of my threads: what is Satan? What is Lucifer? The biggest secret in the world. There's a book there. Read the PDF version only. That's where you'll find all the details. You'll need to do your research several layers deep to uncover the lies.

I can't believe a human being actually believes this. But we kill snakes today why didn't they become messiahs?! And Paul's letters were written in 1st century (see below). Besides, the question you were asked was WHY would Rome and their emperors invent a religion like Christianity??!

You keep jumping from one talk to the other. My interest has been on the character called Jesus who certainly NEVER existed at all. And you have no evidence otherwise.

I am not concerned about Paul. He may or may not be real but what's known for sure is that he didn't write some of the letters attributed to him. You can use the same AI to ask for books/letters that scholars believes were not actually written by Paul. The Bible stories are full of propaganda, genuine mistakes and outright lies.

Note: I just realized this is an old thread that I already left sometime ago. I believe I've already debated this with you or someone else here. And as I said then, it's not everyone that will be freed from the myth. What I know is that intelligent people would eventually uncover the lies and set themselves free.

I am done.

Who said Jesus never existedhuhhuh

It's like saying our great great great grandparents that were born over 2000 years ago never existed because you have no evidence of them.
Jesus's own is different because there are overwhelming evidence about his existence.

My friend, here is your statement verbatim:
"It took several thousanss of years to evolve into an emotional story of a human being killed on the cross." Something that Paul was writing elaborately about in the FIRST century!

You are the one that keeps jumping from one talk to the other. Did you at all read the text you responded to? Where did it say that Paul personally wrote all the Paulian letters?? Have you ever read the NT? WHY would he make all that up? Did he also invent the apostles he had personal interactions and disagreements with? Some people simply refuse to THINK! Can't you see that by admitting Paul existed and personally wrote most of his letters, you have equally admitted Jesus did indeed exist UNLESS you say Paul made up EVERYTHING and invented ALL the apostles he wrote about, and give us his motive for doing all that!

You should indeed be done with this topic forever and never again mention it until you find rebuttals for all the direct and circumstantial evidence listed below!

Thank you very much for the video but it is extremely simplistic and therefore not factual. Like I've told you before, I have heard one of the pioneers and vanguard of AI interviewed and directly heard him say that no one understands exactly how AI works. Which is supported by the screenshots below. How does AI know to the second what time it is if it is trained only once? How is it so current about everything that is going on to the second?
Also, the reference for this video is 2020, over 6 years ago, when AI people had 10 fingers and you can instantly tell if something was AI.
Finally, based on ideas from this video, think of a question you will ask AI that you can trick it into getting wrong.

Either you weren't paying attention or didn't watch to the end. These issues were covered. For instance AI doesn't do calculations it hands it over to separate unit. Then the issue of not knowing how it works was covered by the fact that it was not expected to know how to code, that just showed up but is still explained by the fact that they are LLM and all the associations coding requires is still part of the associations it forms.

Look through this guy's YouTube channel and see all the various ways he tricks AI:

Try asking questions on deep humanities such as religious sensitivities and radicalism.
Quite often it will eithere decline to answer or give a very politically correct neutral statement which is nothing.
Also a lot always depends on the framing of a question. Two people on two sides of an argument can fram questions cleverly enough for the AIs to agree with both sides.

Also in matters of intricate nuance, humans are key.
Noy to talk about something like politics.

And God forbid the matter dwells on emotion and deep psychology.

AI is very useful, but is no where near what can be described as ïntelligent" yet in the real sense. Think of it as a tool for gathering and organising information fast. As things go along though, it will have to be strongly regulated to avoid many dangers. Especially on ethical matters.

AI doesn’t know anything. It’s a computer programmed to perform certain tasks. It doesn’t “think”, it is not “intelligent”, it is not ever going to be conscious, IT’S JUST A COMPUTER.

What it regurgitates is the data it has been programmed with or it performs a function it has been programmed to do. They claim they don’t know how it works because they think obscurantism and ambiguity sells the mystery of the “artificial intelligence”.

If you programmed a chatbot (or “train” it like the disingenuous clowns say) with the Marvel Comics universe and instruct it that it’s real, it would tell you the exact date and time Thanos snapped half the morons in the world out of existence.
