Kanu Legacy damn solid talking about his records,ex Ajax,Inter Milan and Arsenal…..clamoring for Osimhen to go back to top league na personal agendas?

It’s just a pity that Napoli and his agent failed woefully during his deadlocked contract.Osimhen at his age shouldn’t be a Galatasaray player, look at Sala retiring to Turkish league and still earning than Osimhen.

Go and ask Okocha how painful he is even as at today mentioning Bolton as one of his clubs with such talent. He said it in one of his interviews that it was a big mistake.

I’m not really blaming Osimhen but I hope he has longer career, his class is above the league and fans just wanted to see him up there based on his talent
Egbon ignore the guy

LIke say Osimhen dey feed us or give us money

I dont know how a player of his calibre will be content with that level of football

Turkish league is where extablished legends go to retire, he is there forming local champion

They do not respect West African players
These rack..eist organizations
They don’t want to pay Africans their due except you play for European teams like England, France
Same situation for Celtic and Iheanacho
Can you imagine: Sadio Mane sla…. ..ved his way for 100k pounds in England compared to other world class players in the league
There is no guarantee you will be fit for the next 4 years in football
Go where you’re desperately needed or respected

He scored three goals, one was ruled out. Our two best attackers are playing in Turkish leagues. Both should be starting together.

While other Africans were tearing it up at the Europa league, there was no Nigerian who stood out...we're here celebrating Iheanacho for scoring against plumbers and kebab sellers part-timing as football players in Turkish tier 2, Lmaoo the fall off is comical at this point.

They paid salah ell in.liverpool

Drogba during his time at Chelsea

What of Mikel?? He was paid well

I think he should still leave to a club in a top 5 leagues, not necessarily England

Lollllll

Their hope was osimhen and I told them that as long as hes in that club, there's little impact he can do. He can't play the entire positions in that team

Osimhen is their only hope and it seems he won't be as lucky this season

True, the fall-off is crazy

Mikel was never world class in Europe
Please remove his name
He spoilt his career the moment he signed for Chelsea, Mourinho derailed his development as an offensive midfielder
I am talking about world class players

Osimhen also derailed his career by extending his Napoli contract
When people adviced him, he didn’t listen so he’s happy and getting paid in Turkey lol

For Nigeria yes he’s a legend
For Chelsea well, he worked really hard to be retained by most of the coaches for 10 years. It’s extremely hard to be in a top English Premier league team for 10 years. I think the ratio of players that can do that is less than 0.1% EPL looks physically draining
Do you know how many Championship, Serie A, La Liga players want to go to the EPL for money & fame. A good platform to help them get to Saudi, definitely boosts their profile ?
It’s not easy to have played at Chelsea for a decade. Even Iwobi couldnt achieve that in Arsenal. Very difficult task
Mikel did enough to stay relevant every year

I didn't say he wasn't a legend
Yeah he is definitely a Nigerian legend
But not a legend at Chelsea
I only said that because I remember the various things people said during his playing days

How did someone who won major trophies with Chelsea derailed his career? haba

Bro, Mikel’s role was actually a blessing at the end for Nigerian football as there was no way we would have won Afcon 2013 without Mikel I remember that game against Ivory Coast in the quarterfinal yaya toure would have done us dirty but for Mikel. Mikel’s ability to retain possession defensively or offensively was a delight to any coach. And if you say that’s not world class because he was more defensive I don’t understand o must he be more offensive to be world class?

PSG that is beating every one blue, black and purple. Na make we dey pray say make dem no win champions league for the 3rd time in a row.

Meanwhile am hoping Awoniyi would make a return to Coventry's starting 11 especially because he didn't play, Omyeka started from the bench and the team recorded their first win. Also besides Ajayi, he be like our players who are regulars in the EPL na for bottom their team dey this season.

Truth be told, the game is becoming too competitive, and our boys need to do better. Sometimes we overlook their national team performance, and we forget it also reflects in their clubs; no coach will tolerate underperformance, no matter what you have done previously. Show workings, or you chop bench!

Rafael Onyedika starts for Frankfurt. Eric Chelle needs to find a way to integrate Rafael Onyedika. Nigeria is not France, England, or Spain, where we have elite talented players playing at the highest level. For a country like Nigeria, I still find it difficult to accept discarding a player who is one of the few we have that are constantly starting games in the top 5 leagues in the world. Bundesliga is a very technical and effective league. I believe Frankfurth finished 7th last season. All the players I see people mentioning here to replace Onyedika will not even make the Frankfurt match-day squad. Rafeal Onyedika is a good player; Eric Chelle needs to find a way to make him effective in the SE. This dude was a beast in Belgium; he is now a mainstay in Frankfurt. Logic should tell people that he is not a bad player. A country like Nigeria simply does not have that luxury to be discarding a player like this for a random nobody.

Ghana is still the host country. They are hosting as part of the preparation for their 70th independence celebrations, so they are surely serious about hosting the tournament.
Nigeria qualification is not guaranteed yet. They are still appealing to CAF, citing Tunisia precedent of 2025 edition. Nothing approved yet.

Mikel is Chelsea and Nigerian legend.

Anyone can define the term "world class" according to how he sees fit.
To some,Mikel was world class, to some,he was not. Both were right.

The term "world class" is open to anyone's interpretation,.

Nigeria have produced 3 players who were undeniably world class by any standards and metrics.
They are:

1. Kanu Nwakwor
2. Jay-Jay Okocha
3. Victor Osimhen

The rest of the players attained an elite footballing status and can be considered as world class players by some of us depending on how you define the term "world class"
Some were among best in their various positions at some point in their careers.

They are:

4. Finidi George
5. Sunday Oliseh
6. Emmanuel Amuneke
7. Rashidi Yekini
8. John Obi Mikel
9. Ademola Lookman
10. Victor Moses
11. Vincent Enyeama
12. Taribo West
13. Victor Ikpeba

Notable mentions:

Celestine Babayaro
Daniel Amokachi
Obafemi Martins
