They abandoned the system that produced results, the U15,U13 projects, the U17 open camps trials in several parts of the country and believed it was archaic.

Now that they are using a modern approach which is to invite some players from few academies, where has it gotten us to?

Some wouldn't even want to hear the name of an ex international as one of our youth team's coaches because they believed all of them are corrupt, but at least some of them have given us results in the past.

We can't even qualify for ordinary CAF U17 competitions anymore.
Some would argue it's because of the qualifying format CAF is currently using,
in the past,we wouldn't have worried about any opponent from any region in Africa,
but now, every country were just beating our darling U17 team back and blue, the most successful U17 team in the world.
The team that gave us the great Kanu,Mikel Obi and monster machine,Victor Osimhen.

Because they deceptively believed they can always run to our foreign born players for recruitment for super eagles duties as though those foreign borns were not produced by system that works, they neglected our entire youth system which used to be our talent factory.
These days, our young players barely make progression from U17 to U20 to super eagles.

I keep saying it,whenever NFF sorts itself out and the new board emerges, their priorities should be to our youth system.
I fear we are already goin the way of Ghana in youth football.

He is a DM. How many times do you see DMs bag MOTM awards?
SymphonyRad:
.
I challenge you to lost 5 games where Ndidi put up MOTM performances for Nigeria, don't worry I'll wait...I have all the time.

Well, maybe I just have a whole different expectation and standard for my ideal DM, cause my modern profile of a complete DM (as opposed to the old and limited role of just simply breaking up play) is the DM who aside from being a destroyer can also initiate attacks (which Ndidi struggled badly at), can pass well and build up play from the back during any phase of possession (which Ndidi definitely can't do), can shoot ( Ndidi used to be good at that but is abysmal now), and also contributes fairly to goals.

Ndidi is far from any of those qualities I mentioned, and even the destroyer role we are trying to manage sef, he now struggles at doing that (age factor).

Most chances created this PL season:

20 — Florian Wirtz
18 — Pascal Groß

So also was Boniface when he was stinking up the Super Eagles.

GMBOFASIA:
Tella is currently playing in the top 5 league
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 10:06pm On Oct 18
Boniface was also playing in a top 5 league regularly while dropping stinkers for the Super Eagles.

Frank Onyeka currently plays in a Top 5 league but we all know how limited he is in our midfield unless paired with one that hides his deficiencies.

Tella is not Super Eagles material.

SymphonyRad:
Apples and Oranges comparison...the two fellows you mentioned play where exactly? how many Nigerian fans even knew about Stephen Michael and Igor before the Russian friendly?. Tella is still playing at a top league for a reason, if he wasnt good enough, then he would have been back in Burnley by now.

[quote author=TheSuperNerd post=140945141]We have seen Nathan Tella in the GWG. He struggles like his leverkusen teammate, Boniface. Also looks lightweight and easily bullied off the ball when he played for us.

Nathan Tella has only played 2 games for Nigeria, and to completely write him off based on his performances for Nigeria in 2 games is just not fair in my humble opinion. 2 games is just not enough sample size to make a judgement on a player. Ademola Lookman just had two stinkers for Nigeria, but we all know that his performances this month are not who he is as a player. It is very difficult to play well when the whole team is not playing well. Nathan played one of those games in the World Cup qualifier away to Zimbabwe, where the whole team was ass that day. Nathan Tella, before getting injured for Leverkusen, was playing some of the best ball I have ever seen him play. This kid deserves another chance to see what he will bring to the table. He is very versatile and can play multiple positions. Instead of the continuous invite of Moses Simon, who we all agree is at the twilight end of his career, let's give that opportunity to Nathan and let's see what he can do.

Fisayo Dele Bashiru's return too since last week followed by his brilliant goal vs Juventus this past weekend. Like I said, our lads hitting form at the right time again.

TheSuperNerd:
I am glad by the back to back (Saturday and Sunday) performances of our lads across the Top leagues and other leagues.

Akor Adams winner ⚽️ vs Napoli.

Nnadi Monster MF performance today.

Calvin Bassey's CB masterclass again and cleansheet.

Iwobi's MOTM and matchwinning performance.

Arierhi Kparobo's Brace⚽️⚽️ today.

Mubarak, Isife, David Moses and Ayaosi all vs Umar Abdullahi as Slavia and Hradec played goalless.

The Super Eagles and U23s have must win games next month. It's make or break and the lads are showing form at the right time again.

Base on current results and happenings as regard our football, I don't see Nigeria as a top 10 football loving nation in Africa. I feel our passion for football has dropped drastically. See the elkanemi game, the Moroccans had more travelling fans in the stadium than elkanemi.

Josh King spinning away from Semi Ajayi.... Alex Iwobi coming close to a goal.

Ofcos Iwobi was the matchwinner eventually.

I don't think osihmen ilenikhena combo will work. I will still put Akor Adams there or even Ademola. Someone that can still drift into the midfield or go wide. Shockingly even bashiru will do the job. Then Bruno for James any time. Bruno will do very well in this set up. I will pair alhassan and Nnadi. Nwoko is still green

Bruno is no match for Isaac ke? Isaac offers much more natural attacking flair skillful, and brings immense crossing ability, creative forward runs, and set-piece utilit. I agree on Yusuf for Nwoko sha.
Hmmm lookman fit perfectly there over adams

Cyriel Dessers' goal is from 3:40 to 4:38. Exquisite ball control, dribbling round the goalkeeper and placing it in the back of the net. 😎👌
