Tinubu's Extension Of CG Immigration Nandap's Tenure Is Well Deserved - Fasakin by Detailednews(op): 10:47am On Oct 25
PRESIDENT TINUBU'S EXTENSION OF CG IMMIGRATION KEMI NANDAP'S TENURE IS WELL DESERVED - DR. FASAKIN

I, Dr. Stephen Olawale Fasakin, KSM, National President, University of Ilorin Alumni Association and Deputy Chairman, Association of Nigerian Universities Alumni, on behalf of the entire alumni family, wish to most heartily commend His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR*, for graciously extending the tenure of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, *Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap*, a distinguished alumna and a true *Better By Far* product of the University of Ilorin.

This well-deserved extension is a testament to the visionary leadership and supervision provided by the Honourable Minister of Interior, *Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo*, under whose strategic policy direction the Nigeria Immigration Service has witnessed unprecedented reforms.

The synergy between the Minister and the CGIS has been the driving force behind these achievements. It is on record that Hon. Tunji-Ojo provided the political will, policy backing and massive technological support that enabled the Service to excel.

The sterling achievements recorded under this productive synergy include:*

1. Passport Reforms & Service Delivery:*
With the Minister's directive and provision of new passport printing infrastructure, the CG cleared over 200,000 backlogs, centralized production to increase capacity from 300 to 5,000 per day, and achieved full digitalization and contactless passport renewal to end touting.

*2. Border Security and Technological Innovation:*
Under the Minister's Renewed Hope Security Architecture, the landmark e-Border Solution Project was realized, including the Command and Control Centre in Abuja, Advance Passenger Information System (APIS), Passenger Name Record (PNR), e-Gates at all international airports, drones, AI-driven surveillance, and consolidation of over 15 million migration records.

*3. War Against Human Trafficking and Transnational Crime:*
With the Minister's support for inter-agency collaboration, the Service rescued 137 victims of human trafficking, dismantled 42 trafficking syndicates, and deepened partnership with IOM, INTERPOL, ECOWAS and the EU.

*4. International Recognition and Regional Leadership:*
The Minister's repositioning of the NIS for global relevance helped Mrs. Nandap to be elected Chairperson of the ECOWAS Heads of Immigration Forum in 2024, and to champion the ECOWAS Biometric Identity Card and secure modern document verification tools from the Netherlands.

*5. Personnel Welfare and Capacity Building:*
In line with the Minister's staff welfare revolution across the paramilitary services, Mrs. Nandap prioritized improved health insurance, pension, and initiated specialized trainings for over 87 senior officers in document fraud detection, migration data analysis and border management.

Mrs. Nandap, the third female to lead the NIS in its history and a graduate of Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin with Masters in International Relations and an MBA, has justified the confidence reposed in her by Mr. President and the Honourable Minister.

We therefore commend both the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Tunji-Ojo, for his exemplary leadership, and the CGIS for her diligence. We assure Mr. President that this extended tenure of 18 months will be used to further consolidate on these gains.

Thank you, Mr. President, for believing in merit, competence and teamwork.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed:

Why do we still gave this tribal sentiment in This country, if a northerner or easterner or southerner starts extending the tenure of people from their tribe, what will this country turn to, how I wish the national assembly had a back bone and stop receiving correspondence from her or even refuse to pass her budget, maybe they will rethink the decision. Is it not possible to have a law that says the president and the leadership of the National Assembly should not be from the same party?

The last President before this, did he extend the tenure of service chiefs?

Heck, he even used someone who retired from another agency to head a uniform agency. Where were you and your fellow crybabies then?

This is a quote from the thread you mentioned

If Yoruba feel marginalised, they should hold ACN responsible for siding with Tambuwal to deny them of the House Speakership slot. GEJ did all he could, but the myopic ACN leaders decided to sell to the highest bidder - the IBB-Atiku backed Tambuwal

This was the exact situation of things then Tinubu connived with Atiku and denied the Yorubas the chance of presenting the speaker of the house. Jonathan did everything to make a Yoruba woman speaker but Tinubu and his selfish interest frustrated Jonathan's effort.

Also did I just read that Yoruba elders told Jonathan to scrap NDDC? You guys' hate and treacherous tendencies are out of this world. I hope the people of Niger Delta are seeing this.
Thank you for bringing this information to my knowledge.

If I enter as the next president, anyone that accepted this tenure elongation in office will be demoted and dismissed from service. This will be a lesson to those that wants to help the politicians destroy the service with nepotism.

When you extend for someone whose tenure has passed, Yiu have shot changed some other people.

If a good Job is being done, a successor should have been adequately trained.

It favours you now and you like it, when it does not don't complain.
