Putinofrussia:Your arguement lacks substances, i tell you why Truly OBJ inherited poverty rate at 70% even if you want to put the blame on Him, the next poverty rate survey after his 1st tenure shows decrease to 54.4% ...thats commendable Under yardua inflation went up again to 62.6% buh b4 the end of 1st tenure it went down to 35.2% .. emphasis on 1st tenure take note Buharii inherited 39.1% poverty rate and by the end of his 1st tenure he took it to 41% then Tinubu inherited 56.2% Now if you put critical thinking into use You notice the pattern 1st tenure was the Magical season to bring poverty rate down ...the 2nd tenure didnt bring any positive result ... Tinubu is the only govt since 1999 that took poverty beyond what he inherited by 1st Tenure end benchmark, and bsse on the analysis no govt made positive result in 2nd tenure, thats why your assertion Tinubu will do magic in 2nd term is baseless or @least a delusion calm down read well then expose me as a terrible lier again, You can't defend Tinubu and make sense you think i was joking, bring Harvard ,+oxford phd holder he will fail

Putinofrussia:When prosperity is growing, along with well paid employment, why won’t poverty reduce drastically? Is this the infrastructure that the master strategist of a-looter propaganda politics has built with billions of dollars subsidy savings, higher revenue from greater tax burden, which have not stopped Tinubu from borrowing more than PDP presidents who gave us cheap petrol, cheap dollars and widespread prosperity to be the biggest African economy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_mAUX4wWC0?si=TH4LTxdg1B-mcxU9 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaStIpnqjdU

divine010:This is what you said and it keeps me laughing.... Now if you put critical thinking into use You notice the pattern 1st tenure was the Magical season to bring poverty rate down ...the 2nd tenure didnt bring any positive result ![]() Is it the beginning that should be a little better while you fail at the end? (And most of those govts didn't build infrastructures o.. They still plunged us into more poverty at the end of their tenure) Even the Bible says... Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. The beginning might be rough for Nigerians with this Tinubu govt but the end will be prosperous And most institutions of the world have said this. During Jonathan too,we started borrowing money to pay workers in 2014 before Buhari came in 2015 because they have embezzled everything. We dont want a little of good beginning and bad ending again. We want growth and prosperity. |

anonimi:Was 70 million people in extreme poverty in 1999, 67+ million plus in 2007, and 68+ million as at 2014 or not? If so, why are there over 50% of Nigerians in abject poverty when GDP was supposedly higher? Seems you guys have problems with numbers, because I don't. |

[quote author=Putinofrussia post=141009221]This is what you said and it keeps me laughing.... DeOTR:There is a difference between extreme poverty, multidimensional poverty and poverty. It’s necessary to understand that first. Were there more Nigerians in extreme poverty when Obasanjo handed over to Yar’Adua, a better economy and GDP growth than in 1999? Were there more Nigerian extreme poverty paupers in 2015 when Jonathan handed over to Buhari than in 2023 when Tinubu grabbed power from the expired kachalla soldier he used to make Jonathan a one term president? Who was president in 2018? What was the population of India compared to Nigeria 8 years ago? ProfDumbledor:

anonimi:I'm not here to pick a side with you guys. The initial person you responded to was talking about poverty rate. Whether you decide to link it to GDP or not, 70 million people are in extreme poverty in 1999, 67 million in 2007, 68 million in 2014, 97 million in 2021 and 98 million in 2026. If you're impressed by any of the governments (except maybe Obj) since the last return to democracy, taking our total population during each regime into account, then I should not be having this conversation with you. |

Which concrete financial plan has the current administration done with the funds from subsidy removal bola is still borrowing money recklessly to foot APC governors whom defected and his family members alone. Someone wants to bring subsidy to ease Nigerians u are asking of financial plan is it not better for Nigeria to be in debt due to subsidy than to be in debt after subsidy removal I am asking you pls answer emkz: |

DeOTR:We are saying the same thing from different perspectives. There is nothing to be IMPRESSED about in any Nigerian government at federal, state and local level. Nevertheless, your own data shows that PDP presidents did far better on poverty numbers taking into consideration population growth, as well as GDP per capita growth rates than their APC counterparts who nevertheless promised change in 2015.

anonimi:I'm not absolving APC. Nigeria has never been doing any better since I know my left from right, and the trend is that, subsequent governments perform worse than the previous ones. Removing fuel subsidy and floating the currency made matters worse. I'm not sure I'd act differently if I were the president, but definitely might manage the funds judiciously. Again, I've learned never to criticize every actions, unless I'm standing in their shoes and see and know what they know. |
