Benin Coastal HWY is 2 lanes

Not built for heavy duty unlike Nigerian Coastal HWY that consists of 3-5 lanes depending on section n it is an heavy duty carriage way.

Nigeria Coastal HWY is more than 2 lanes.

He did not say that there was no design for the Costal highway. What he said was that it’s not only one engineering design that is being used for the entire 750 km highway, each section has its separate design because of the different terrains and that FEC approvals are obtained on section by section basis.

Umahi is telling us Nigerians that the Lagos - Calabar coastal way costs N6b per kilometre.

As in N6,000,000,000 per km?

For context, 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos is ~11.8km; Lekki - Ikoyi link bridge is ~1.36km; the 1st River Niger bridge (over the water) is ~1.4km; Lekki Phase 1 - Epe is ~72km on Lekki - Epe Express Way.

If there has been a design and a corresponding EIA, this issue of detour would have been mentioned abnitio, but because they hurridlet started an over bloated work, that's why the entire mess is arising.
