Kenyan University urges Students to stop supporting Man United over mental health concerns.

A Kenyan university has jokingly advised students to reconsider supporting Manchester United, citing the emotional toll of football disappointments as they juggle academic responsibilities.

The message was shared by KCA University alongside a promotional post for its January 2027 intake, inviting students to share what it described as an important memo with fellow students.

Dated Wednesday, October 21, the tongue-in-cheek notice was labelled “office of the university (unofficial)” and urged students to reconsider supporting Manchester United and wearing the club’s jersey.

The university joked that the advisory was intended to protect students from “unnecessary emotional damage, weekend disappointments and Monday-morning heartbreaks”. It added that students already had enough academic pressure to deal with, including continuous assessment tests (CATs), assignments, graduation clearance and deadlines.

The university instead encouraged students to support its own sporting teams, claiming they performed better than the English Premier League club.

I be Man U fan and I no dey too bother again.

When u don experience the poor performances over time you go get use to am.

These days I attach more emotions watching Arsenal than I do Man Utd.

I knos the Glazers have been bad, but this INEOS thing has made it worse. United were a bit better when it was just the Glazers.

Recruitment under these guys has been abysmal.

Apart from Mbeoumo, I don't see any reasonable player bought since the INEOS thing.

I can't believe that I am still alive to witness a free fall of one of the Greatest team in the world who was once the pride of English football.

Whoever cursed Manchester United FC. should please forgive them and revert the curse, they are suffering too much. Even their enemies are now praying for them.

Patriotism and all the 'buy local' stuff in my opinion just does not work in arts and entertainment: music, movies, sports, books, journals, magazines, etc. Those things are beyond boundaries, across culture and do a better job at uniting a world than any other media.

In Nigeria is football, sports not a,practical unifier that consistently works to focus the people of this country. And so it is across the world. And that is why today you can have a Burna Boy, a Nigerian heading the halftime credits for an 'American' NFL game in 'France'.

If everyone stuck to what they grew up with, what their cultures were exclusively, will this ever be possible. So just be the best at what you are and enjoy what the best the world has to offer. That is how humanity works.

The English have made their football league the best sporting package on television the world has ever seen so their clubs are bound to have the largest following around the world. It is just performing art... entertainment...
