Malaysia for instance, took the seedlings they used in their plantation in Nigeria, I think, in the 70s. Guess what? They are now ahead of us in palm oil production whether you'd like to admit it or not. As a result, they are now one of the largest producers of beauty products on the globe.
I countered him because he said Nigeria did not have the wherewithal to surpass those nations due to lack of landmass undecided

All those countries have deliberate policies and programs to industrialize the production of those crops they excel in. All the way from research and development to processing and marketing.

They don't excel by selling fertilizer and other inputs at the cheap and walking away, claiming success.
Re: The Countries Dominating Global Food Production (Photos) by eniteden(m): 3:41pm On Oct 26
There is nothing on that list that Nigeria can't produce in large quantity, everything there can be grown in Nigeria and exported in large quantity to bring in foreign exchange!

But how far? u can't see Nigeria there because of useless leaders produce by mammon!

We only top the chart in terrorism, number of church and mosques and poverty cry

If you see that list it will shock you too

Malaysia is the king not even Nigeria. Most of those Asian countries they produce more palm oil than Nigeria and supply the United States
I know Nigeria is not number 1 but Nigeria is among the top producers

Na hunger go still kill us for this country with our population that is growing exponentially and we can’t farm for many reasons!

Taraba has fertile lands for coffee and tea but they would rather wait for free money from abuja

When it comes to corn production every part of Nigeria expect the sahel region is game

Nigeria can do this

First tackle this insecurity

Then instead of these billions you spend on prado, build factory that produces mechanized farm implement

These people can enter into partnership with the govt in exchange for their land

See how things would change
No be only Coffee and Tea sef but almost all major agricultural food produce, that state is so blessed with nature but I just don’t know their issue.

Most African countries do subsitence farming. That's enough to feed some of the population, but not enough to feed all the population and leave surplus for exports.

If we want to be a world leader in food production, we got to have more people investing in large scale mechanized farming. That would take us to the top, but leave many small scale subsitence farmers out of work...
Will u and Tinubu the Yoruba man protect the farm ?

Nigeria is the worlds number one producer of beans, cassava, yam, cocoa beans, , ginger, millet, signum and garri.

You’re welcome
Correct about all except the bold. Ivory Coast and Ghana are the biggest producers by a huge margin. If we don't cultivate new cocoa crops, Cameroon and Brazil might soon surpass us.

sesame seeds
China and India lead here. We only lead in Africa.

Lol

Nigeria actually imports palm oil and we spent more than half a billion dollars doing so. The government even reduced import levies on palm oil. We don't produce enough for local consumption.

Is the United State that big? Considering they don't have lots of farms, mostly single large farms, how are they able to produce that much?
That's the reason they produce enough. Modern day agriculture isn't necessarily by how large the farm is, but how productive in terms of yield and equipment to cultivate, weed and harvest the produce.

P.S. The US is the third largest country by land area.

He's right because oil palm grows across Indonesia, but cannot grow across Nigeria. Can it grow in Kano or Kaduna? Have you seen oil palm estates in Malaysia and Indonesia? That crop has produced dollar billionaires for both countries.

it's funny how you people deviate from the main topic. What brings Tinubu and APC into this? I have seen the list of how countries stand in some foods and I requested for that of palm oil where I know Nigeria will come up in the list. Now you are talking about APC and Tinubu, what's the connection?

Nigeria has enough land mass to out produce both countries combined.

😂😂😂 Una funny for this comment section.. As big as you think Nigeria is, the United States is 10 times bigger than Nigeria. From JFK, New York to Honolulu, Hawaii is 11 hours flight. That's from one US state to another.

Yes, the United States is very large, with around 900 million acres of agricultural land, and it relies on large-scale mechanization, fertile geography, and specialized operations rather than small hand-tended plots.

Malaysia and Indonesia have a climate and far more land where palm oil can be grown year round. Nigeria can only grow palm oil in the south, and the south is densley populated..which limits available land for palm oil cropping.

The above comment is a response to my previous comment

Note that the lad just abuses me, but offers no proof as to why I am wrong, and he is right.

It shows that he actually does not have proof, he just wants to prove that he is superior to me.

Such people are not worth engaging with at all at all

I still stand by my post, and will add that Malaysia has plantations, and some form of mechanized farming, which Nigeria doesn't have.

P.S : He better go and learn to be more polite to people. I'm blocking him too for his own good.
I could remember when we were flying over Malaysia palm plantation with speed of the plane it took over 15 minutes imagine how verse that areas not something we can accommodate in the south including managing it. We are really far.
