The Minister of Agriculture, Mohammed Abubakar, on Thursday said in spite of the protracted security challenge in the country, food production has not dropped.

Speaking during the weekly ministerial briefing at the State House in Abuja, Abubakar acknowledged that the insurgency, inhibiting farmers from accessing their farms, particularly in the North-West, North-East, and North-Central, is a concern for the Federal Government.

He, however, maintained that food production continues at an appreciable level for most parts of the country.

The minister further revealed that 3.6 million direct and indirect jobs have been created through $1.1 billion in externally-funded agriculture projects and are being implemented by the present administration.

According to him, $538 million dollars was approved by the African Development Bank (AfDB) for special agricultural processing zones to support inclusive and sustainable agricultural development in Nigeria.

He gave the participating states as Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Kogi, Kwara, Kebbi, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau, and Sokoto.

While debunking recent reports that Nigeria is not on track to end food hunger by 2025, Abubakar cited Nigeria’s food production sufficiency (which has placed the country as number 1 in Africa and 4th in the world in rice production) as evidence that President Muhammadu Buhari is living up to his promise to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty within a decade.

Lord almighty, I thank you for this day. I thank you for the gift of life, health, and our daily bread. Lord I thank you for our family and friends. And I also thank you for saving us from all evil - spiritual and physical.
Lord, I offer Nigerian leaders to you as burnt offering to cleanse our nation and our world from this invisible enemy that has deprived us of our day to day activities. Since they have refused to be useful to us, Lord, take them. If there is any of them that you can't take, please throw him or her to sango or amadioha, or let oke ukwu devour the person. Lord, take these people and give us new nation where every citizen will enjoy all the privileges that come with being citizens of a nation.
Lord answer my prayer

The big problem is that all Nigerians have seen and experienced what APC bad governance and bad politicians brought upon Nigeria yet the same poor citizens are still supporting APC and PDP with same bad governance blood line to continue subjecting the citizens into abject penury...

No southeastern state was included in the ADP sponsored programme that he mentioned. The level of hatred of this government against the southeast is unbelievable.
