Dtruthspeaker:see them. people like you are the reason Pastors take advantage of people in Nigeria cos if you lot bother to read, you will be wiser The Bible indicates that Moses had two wives: Zipporah of Midian and a Cushite woman mentioned in Numbers 12:1. Zipporah is introduced in Exodus 2:21, while the Cushite woman appears later, and most sources interpret her as a second wife rather than another name for Zipporah. |

erico2k2:Did Moses have 2 wives AI Overview The Bible does not explicitly state whether Moses had one or two wives, leaving scholars and theologians divided into two main interpretations. 1. The Single-Wife View (Zipporah is the Cushite) • Zipporah as the Wife: Moses is widely known to have married Zipporah, the Midianite daughter of Jethro (Reuel), with whom he had two sons, Gershom and Eliezer. • Geographical and Poetic Link: Some scholars argue that "Cushite" in Numbers 12:1 refers poetically or culturally to Zipporah herself. In certain biblical passages (such as Habakkuk 3:7), the region of Cush is closely associated with or overlaps the territory of Midian, meaning "Cushite" could simply describe Zipporah's non-Israelite ancestry or dark complexion. • Conclusion in this view: Moses was married to only one woman—Zipporah I just got this from Google which I never knew but my own answer is that "Did Moses have 2 wives like Rasak Okoya and co? No! Rather he was married twice just like Chris oyaks and chris okotie and no one said that that was polygamy. So, you are wrongi |

Dtruthspeaker:At this point, I’ll stop educating you on this matter. You’ve concluded that no woman would willingly accept her husband marrying a second wife, yet you’ve seen examples like the pastor’s wife and Sarah, alongside millions of other cases. You even went as far as calling it an act of wickedness. That is an emotional judgment, not a logical argument. Let me repeat my point: polygamy has its consequences, but negative consequences do not automatically make something a sin. |

Teymanhenry:My statement saying "no woman would willingly accept her husband marrying a second wife" is not the issue. (I will open a thread on that to understand this part cos i don't understand how you say it is not wickedness) So can you counter my response on "the same common sense has been applied on this Deut 17:17 already for i answered you "from whom shall God choose to be king of Israel? Or do you presume that the King of Isreal will drop from the sky? And that i already explained that in Exodus 21:10 they already had multiple wives just like the rest of the pagan world when they left Egypt. Or you can't? |

erico2k2:Several. Isaac, Moses, Isaiah, etc. Let's be clear though, the Bible supports both monogamy and polygamy. |

Teymanhenry:First, because of your statement, let me remind you that Sarah did not accept Abraham marrying a second wife as Abraham made no such offer. Acceptance means that an offer has been made first to her. And that did not happen. Secondly, are you saying that because this pastor's wife allowed her husband to take a second wife, that therefore she willingly accepted it? This is even born out of the known natural fact that women don't even allow their partners to cheat not to talk their partners marrying the person they cheated with, so is it that you are pretending to not see that in all the situations where a wife agrees to her husband taking another wife it is because of undue pressure and weakness and survival? And how you say it is not wickedness, just blew my mind. These threads shows that it is wickedness https://www.nairaland.com/5306360/man-destroys-own-house-because#80355564 https://www.nairaland.com/4687997/lady-shares-how-man-abandons#70467149 |

LordReed:You have come with your lies again Isaiah never had 2 wives AI Overview The Bible does not record that the prophet Isaiah had two wives. • Wife's Identity: Isaiah is mentioned as having one wife, whom he refers to simply as "the prophetess" in Isaiah 8:3. • Children: Scripture records that they had at least two sons with symbolic prophetic names: Shear-Jashub and Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz (Isaiah 7:3, 8:3). Moses never had 2 wives like Rasak Okoya and co If at all, the worse is that he was married twice just like Chris oyaks and chris okotie and no one calls that polygamy. And isaac had only one wife. And he was not a prophet. AI Overview According to the biblical record, Isaac had only one wife, Rebekah. But I'm sure you meant to say Jacob. And Jacob does not count because he was deceived into having it. "Deception invalidates an action". AI Overview In legal, ethical, and contractual frameworks, deception inherently invalidates an act or agreement because it destroys the core requirement of genuine consent. When one party relies on a lie or a misrepresentation, their choice is no longer truly voluntary or informed. And then Deuteronomy 17:17 shows God completely bans polygamy which by the time the Bible reaches Malachi you no longer see any Israelite with more than one wife. So, you see, you are lying as you usual do |

LordReed:YOu amongst the few these pastors use to cash out, who told you MOSES had just one wife? your Pastor I guess and I also guess you was too lazy or ignorant to read your Bible yourself and get your own knowledge. Bro go and read the bible well, Moses had more than one wife. |

erico2k2:Bro I don't believe in the Bible so try not to be condescending towards me. I am taking an objective view of the subject so I am not coloured by belief or the need to defend the text. Yes there is disagreement about how many wives Moses had and there is no consensus on the matter. Even if you discount Moses there are still others plus the married Apostles apparently only had one each. So the claim that monogamy is a European concept is not supported by the evidence. |

LordReed:SO how did Adam and Eve bare kids? The Bible presents Adam and Eve as the first human couple, joined by God in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2 describes God creating Eve from Adam’s rib to be a suitable companion, emphasizing equality, unity, and partnership (Genesis 2:21-22) BibleAsk BibleAsk +1 . When Adam first saw Eve, he recognized her as “bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh,” marking the beginning of their marital relationship (Genesis 2:23) christianfaithguide.com christianfaithguide.com . The text refers to Eve as Adam’s wife and Adam as her husband, confirming their marital status (Genesis 2:25; 3:6) BibleAsk BibleAsk +2 . |

[quote author=LordReed post=141036958]This is irrelevant to the issue. Adam had one wife or can you point out to anywhere on the Bible where it says he had more than 1.[/quote Abraham had multiple wives, including Sarah, Hagar, and later Keturah. His marriage to Hagar, Sarah’s maidservant, was to ensure an heir, resulting in Ishmael, while Isaac was born to Sarah, creating a significant familial and historical legacy (Genesis 16:3; 25:1) . Jacob, also known as Israel, married Leah and Rachel, and had children with their maidservants, Bilhah and Zilpah, fathering the twelve tribes of Israel (Genesis 29:30; 30:1-24) . David, the king and prophet, had multiple wives and concubines, including Michal, Abigail, and others, with his polygamy documented in 2 Samuel 3:2-5 and 5:13-16 . Solomon, David’s son, is the most famous biblical figure for polygamy, with 700 wives and 300 concubines, many of whom were foreign princesses. His extensive marriages are noted in 1 Kings 11:3 and are linked to both political alliances and spiritual challenges . Other biblical figures with multiple wives include Esau, Elkanah (father of Samuel), Gideon, and Rehoboam, reflecting the cultural acceptance of polygamy in ancient Israel . |

erico2k2: Adam — Married to Eve (Genesis 2:22–25). Noah — Married to his unnamed wife, who entered the Ark with him (Genesis 7:7). Isaac — Married only to Rebekah (Genesis 24:67). Unlike his father Abraham or son Jacob, Isaac remained strictly monogamous throughout his life. Joseph — Married to Asenath, daughter of Potiphera (Genesis 41:45). Moses — Married to Zipporah (Exodus 2:21). (Note: Numbers 12:1 mentions a "Cushite woman," which biblical scholars debate as either a descriptor/epithet for Zipporah or a second wife, though Zipporah is his only explicitly named spouse). Boaz — Married to Ruth (Ruth 4:13). Job — Married to his wife who survived his trials (Job 2:9, Job 42:12–13). Hosea — Married to Gomer (Hosea 1:2–3). Isaiah — Married to "the prophetess" (Isaiah 8:3). Ezekiel — Married to his wife, referred to as "the desire of his eyes" (Ezekiel 24:15–18). So we can see clearly the Bible also supports monogamy, your assertion that it is merely European innovation is defeated. |

autoez:God is no respected of persons and the position of the Bible and Jesus Christ is clear and unambiguous on monogamy. Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6, 1 Timothy 3:2 and Titus 1:6 are clear references. It is "husband of one wife". There are a lot of charlatans and unbelievers masquerading as Pastors these days. Israel Ford had been hiding his adulterous and sinful relationship with Shakayla for long, until he was able to gather the courage to transition from secret hypocrisy to public heresy. The fact that some of his fellow fake Pastors have concubines and have not elevated their hypocrisy as Israel Ford has done is no excuse to launder or cast in any positive light his despicable conduct. It is even worse when he tries to condemn monogamy as not being Biblical. This shows his spiritual emptiness and desire to publicly mislead others down the path of condemnation that he and his co-travelers have chosen. It is very unfortunate that the sheep are clapping for the barely disguised wolves masquerading as shepherds. |
