that's where i bought from. A biofilter is not so necessary but an aerator is an absolute must. Dissolved oxygen levels is critical to fish growth. More D.O faster growth.

read d post that lead to d talk on bio filter,someone asked how to combat a challenge lack of drainage,d aerator u are talking of,i imported mine more than 7Years ago from china,dynamo farm in lagos(at a time d most reputable fishfarm was my client),so other farmers visit that site for your tech need

But I guess even if u have an earator and the water is polluted the earator has no much effect in this situation... I think they should work together... U can't leave one out and expect a good result...

aerating water when dissolved oxygen concentrations are near saturation is wasteful because oxygen transfer and aeration efficiency are very low under those conditions...

I once used an earator and I found it very effective especially in nurturing fries... One should take into consideration the water temparature excesive heat deters the growth of the fish...

It's advisable to use an aerator and have frequent water changes. It will help increase the field yield. You will not regret it.

@robonski15,excelsiorfarm and others: Any advice for me? because am venturing into the biz and i intend to use Tampoline pond. I have a lean budget, which made me want to start small, maybe like 400 to 500 juveniles for start. Any suggestion or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you robonski15, ur thread is quite insightful but some convesation that members inbox that can be of benefit to majority of us should be added to the thread pleeease. I have copied some very enlightening parts of the thread already, its like a mini handout on catfish farming lol.

WOW! This is an unforgetable experience to me. It's just so amazing... i really learnt alot in that seminar... i wish i'd known what i know now. Ignorance could be very expensive!
