Gurus in d house, pls help me with this.l drive a Honda Halla.Changed the gear box last year(auto drive).E'thing was fine until 3months ago when l discovered that the D4 is not working properly. When selected, l would have to press the acelerator hard before it moves and when it does it drags on.Again, the D4 light is not showing on d dashboard. However, when engage in d1,d2 and d3,the gear works normally.l ve had the solenoid changed. What could be the problem |

Greetings to the house ![]() My 2k5 4cyl accord doesn't 'kick-down' lately. Wat i mean by kick-down: Normally wen u stamp the throttle on the move, the auto-gear is supposed to shift down (to a lower gear, say D3 then this will give more power for the car to accelerate stronger in correlation wt the ppressure from the throttle). On enquiry, i was told the throttle body (injector head) is bad n i have to replace it. * is this right or wrong pls?? * P.s (the car's idle is really low which causes engine vibrating, unlike before this problem started) No suggestions from our honda gurus ![]() |

Try shifting the gear selector away from the normal D4 position, that is, move it front and back btw N and D3. See if at any point D4 illuminates. If it does, drive the car with D4 illuminated and see the difference. If it works fine, the the gear selector needs to be adjusted or replaced. I still own a 96 accord which does that. If some1 who doesnt know d car well drives, it would sometimes not show D4. When it doesnt show the car will drives very sluggish. Gear changes between gears 2 and 4 only. To imagine it, try driving a manual car btw gears 2 and 4 only and starting from 0. |

Some one please help me, my check engine and oil light started blinking up to ten times before stopping when I turn on my engine but yesterday morning on my way to work the lights came on permanently. I'm about to change the oil pump because I just serviced the car last week. I av also changed the oil filter and the lights are still there. However, there's a little grinding sound I hear wen I wind up and listed to d engine from inside the car. The mechanic opened my oil lid while the engine was still on and said oil splashes where supposed to coming if the oil pump was working well but it wasn't. Please I need serious advice. If anyone knows a very good Honda mechanic in portharcourt that would also help me, please paste the number here. Thanks |

lacasa: No suggestions from our honda gurusI believe your gear (selector) switch/ sensor is the likely culprit. Replace it, and your drive will be back to normal. However, since you said the idle is low, you may need to change your spark plugs and watch the response before considering replacing the throttle head. If it's due to ur throttle head, it means fuel supply to the combustion chamber is far lower than throttle/ pedal pressure dictates). Cheers! |

@nas 00, God bless u sir for yr informattive reply. Will have the selector checked n will buy new NGK plugs soonest. P.s(where is the gear switch located in the engine pls, so that i can have some info b4 engaging the mechanic on it??). |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by nas00(m): 6:07pm On Jun 24, 2013 |
lacasa: @nas 00,Bro, the switch is attached to the lower (and inner) aspect of the gearbox. To identify ur gearbox, trace the gear oil dipstick (close to the car battery) downwards. |

keni: I need help with my honda halla please, anytime I engage the gear in drive, the car vibrates but the vibration stops as soon as I shift to neutral, please how do i stop this?1. Check your engine mounts one-by-one. They are four in number. If one or more is worn out, it can cause vibrations when gear is in drive. 2. Check your engine revolution/min (commonly referred to as 'slow'). If it is too low, it may cause vibration when you engage your gear in 'D'. However, this should also cause vibration in 'neutral'. Just check for all it's worth. |

nas 00: http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/OM/AC0303/AC0303MAINIXB.pdfThan.ks bro But the pdf files are not doemloading, from the second link i only got a two page table of content. Please i really need the 2004 accord manual , links please.... |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by nas00(m): 10:27pm On Jul 05, 2013 |
dgitrader: Than.ks broWe'll see what we can do about the links. However, if you have an urgent need to consult the owner's manual in the time being, I'll suggest you check a friend's hard copy (i.e, if you have a friend using 2003, 2004 or 2005 accord). My accord came with a series of instruction booklets, and it seems the 2003, 2004 and 2005 accord editions have the same information booklets. So, anyone you can lay your hands on should be ok. Cheers! |
