WebsiteGuy: Pls can a pregnant woman of 8 mnths use dat unripe plantain remedy?

Well, a pregnant woman should consult her doctor before taking anytin. I am not a doctor, and I've never been pregnant before lols (I'm not married cheesy). But if she should abstain from all those foods I listed earlier that can aggravate the ulcer, she should be fine. If the pains are much, let her see her doctor. At that stage in pregnancy, she needs to be careful with what she takes into her stomach..
Wishing her all d best, and a safe delievery.

If you peptic ulcer doesn't heal after several rounds of medication its because you're either taking the wrong medication or wrong combination of them.
Amoxicillin is not very effective to treat h.pylori which is the main bacteria preventing your ulcer from healing. Clarithromycin is a better alternative. A triple therapy of:
Clarithromycin 500mg twice daily
Metronidazole 400mg 3 times daily and
Omeprazole 20mg twice daily
All for weeks, followed by 20mg daily dose of Omeprazole for another 2 weeks should be able to clear infection and ensure a smooth healing process.

Thanks. Guess you are a doctor or a medical person from your analysis. Trust me when I say its practically almost impossible for anyone to use all those drugs for 2weeks, especially metronidazole (flagyl). After the first 4-5 days your mouth is messed up, u feel dehydrated, fainty and bloated. Anyone with ulcer can testify to it. I av searched pharmacies for flagyl brands that are not bitter, the closest I got was loxagyl, which I can only take for 5-6 days. The effects of the drugs you doctors prescribe is felt by the patients.

I started having ulcer pains in 2007. Was preparing for an exam then and I started staying off food just to read. I kept having the burning pain, but ignored it cos I dint know. After a series of days, I was reading and I was so hungry. I couldn't take it. I went to look for somtin to eat and the first thing I found was roasted corn. That was the beginning of trouble. Vomiting, pain, bloody stools, pain in the stomach, radiating to the back.
My parents are medical people so I know all this drugs you are talking about....

It is well, like I said, I see the end of the monster called ulcer. I always win. With prayers and with all this precautions and remedies, ulcer is history.

Thanks

For all those who have ulcer challenge, i have a simple, natural remedy which cures permanently. This is often overlooked because of its simplicity. This forum is meant for us to share knowledge for free so i'll give it just as my father gave it to me many years ago. Here it is:
Just get shea butter, melt with heat and take a table spoon full twice daily.
For those in Nigeria, there is another way to take it using Eko aka Agidi to touch and eat the melted shea butter.
continue medication until symptoms cease.

[quote author=geeky_babe]Hi everyone, I discovered a lot of people have been asking for solutions, remedies and cure for ulcer. I have some tips and advise to give as regards that.

I have had ulcer for almost 6years now, and I can tell u its not been funny. Vomiting, stooling with blood, intense pains overnight, chronic heartburn, etc.

Recently I started a few natural remedies, and I have felt relief that I've never known in my life. And now I know that the end of ulcer is here!

There are a few things u should know. I have seen a lot of doctors, and I can tell u, they all prescribe the same things. Antacids, antibiotics(flagyl, amoxicillin, cimetidine, etc) or a combination of d two with omeprazole tablets (meprasil, rabeprazole, ulcertret, omez, etc). Some prescribe Ulcer kits. Its the same combination( pyrox combi, ulsa-kit, etc). They usually prescribe dis for 2wks or less, depending on the intensity of the pain.

I have taken all this medications a number of times, and though it may provide relief for a while, it doesn't cure the ulcer. The worst part is the adverse effects of taking this strong antibiotics(e.g flagyl) which leads to stomach pain, vomiting, dehydration, loss of appetite and all. Attimes it could get so bad that u just have to stop them. All this things av their own effects on the body, its more complex for us females as I discovered it affects my cycle attimes.

After a while, maybe a month or 2, d pain comes back and u begin the treatment again. Its crazy I tell u.

Anyways, here are a few remedies that every ulcer patient must know especially when pain becomes recurrent:
1. Stop taking fried foods( fried meat or fish, plantain etc) or too oily meals (fried rice).
2. Stay away from spicy foods( suya, pepper soup, etc)
3. Stay away from hard. And crunchy snacks ( plantain chips, potato chips etc)
4. Avoid carbonated drinks! ( Coke, malt, sprite la casera, etc). They cause a lot of pain for an ulcer patient. Take plenty of water instead, or drink youghurt.
5. Avoid mint sweets (lemon plus, peppermint, tom-tom and the likes). Also don't take garri, or rough meals like eba.

Here are some healthy things you should do.
1. Take plenty of water. Take at least a litre of water every morning when u wake up. Thus helps to dilute the acid your stomach may av secreted over nite.
2. Eat swallows more with draw soup, (ewedu, okro, etc less of egusi)
3. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. E.g bananas, apples, watermelon, avocado, cucumber, carrots and cabbage. ORANGES ARE NOT GOOD FOR ULCER PATIENTS.
4. If u can get apple cider vinegar(ACV), its good for heartburns and ulcer too. Just add like 2tablespoons of it into a glass of water. It gives relief. Research just showed dat antacids are not too good for heartburns.
5. Eat in bits. A little at a time, so ur stomach can digest it in bits. Always av snacks like biscuits, banana, with you if u know in case you are hungry.
6. Too much of some nuts, may cause pains. (E.g groudnut, walnut, cashew nuts.) NEVER eat ROASTED CORN. Its rough and can cause the ulcer to bleed, hence causing pain.

I did some research online, and I found a few natural remedies.
1. Grate like 8 unripe plantains in 4-5litres of water in a keg. Let it ferment for at least 48hrs. Take a cup at least 3 or 4 times a day, in the morning afternoon and night, and before u sleep. Its preferable if u take it an hour before meals. I have been using this particular therapy and its working wonders! Take it for like 3weeks or so. It has no side effects that I av seen so far, just adhere to d normal ulcer do's and donts.
2. Cabbage juice has been found to heal ulcers too. I tried it but couldn't tolerate it for long cos it was making me feel like vomiting. Heard its good if u blend with carrot and drink. Its should be taken instantly for best results. Don't store d juice in a fridge. It can make u stool a little, but it worked well when I used it.
3. While this natural remedies are good, it doesn't mean you should stay away from your doctor. Make sure you have a doctor that's monitoring you.
May God bless u abundantly. Just last week that i found out that i've ulcer wich has existed for 3yrs. Doctors kept on telling me that i've typhoid. Well, thanks be to God cos a problem known is half solved. But may u help me, my doctnr told me that i've ulcer with typhoid. How may i cope with both. And also, i taught biscuit is not gud for ulcer patients.

Thanks for the tips. The unripe banana you mentioned, will it be pilled before use?

I hope the process of fermentation for 2 days will not make the mixture acidic?

Have you heard of duodenum ulcer? I have used all sorts of drugs ( Nexium, omeprazole etc) for the past 3 years, no serious improvement, I hope the unripe solution will help.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!!

Medical Author: Melissa Stöppler, M.D.
Medical Editor: Jay W. Marks, MD

A peptic ulcer is an area of damage to the inner lining of the stomach, esophagus, or duodenum (the first part of the small intestine). Over 25 million Americans will have a peptic ulcer at some point in their lifetime. People of all ages can suffer from ulcers. Men and women are equally affected.

Peptic ulcers were formerly thought to be caused by stress, coffee consumption, or spicy foods. Now it is clear that about 60% of peptic ulcers are caused by a bacterial infection that can usually be cured. Another 20% are caused by nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin and ibuprofen (Advil, Nuprin, etc.), and another 20% have miscellaneous causes such as cigarettes or no clear cause.

The bacterium Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) was established as the leading cause of peptic ulcers in the early 1980s. It was also found to cause gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining), and, in Asian populations, cancer of the stomach.

H. pylori is a spiral-shaped bacterium that can live and grow on the lining tissues of the stomach. Some people can be infected with H. pylori and never develop an ulcer or show any symptoms of the infection. In other people, the organism may persist for years before any symptoms develop.

It remains unclear why some people develop symptoms of the infection and others do not. It is also not clear exactly how H. pylori is transmitted from person to person. In the United States, H. pylori infection is more common among the elderly, African-Americans, Hispanics, and in those living under lower socioeconomic conditions.

Most commonly, ulcers related to H. pylori are treated with a two week course of treatment called triple therapy, consisting of two antibiotics to kill the bacteria and either an acid suppressor or stomach-lining shield medication. Omeprazole (Prilosec) and lansoprazole (Prevacid) are common proton pump inhibitors that are often administered with the antibiotics. Proton pump inhibitors interrupt the mechanism that produces stomach acid. A bismuth preparation (such as Pepto-Bismol) is sometimes given as a stomach-lining shield. Although acid suppressing drugs will heal the ulcers, unless antibiotics also are administered, up to 80% of ulcers recur, in contrast to about 6% when the H. pylori infection is treated with antibiotics.

Tests for H. pylori infection include upper endoscopy in which a long flexible tube with a light and camera on the end is passed through the mouth, down the esophagus and into the stomach for examination of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. With endoscopy, the diagnosis of an ulcer can be made and a biopsy removed and examined for the presence of H. pylori.

Noninvasive tests cannot determine if an ulcer is present but may be used to diagnose H. pylori infection. These include blood tests to identify antibodies to H. pylori, the urea breath test (UTB), and a test on samples of stool that also identifies antibodies. For the urea breath test, an oral preparation of urea containing radiolabeled carbon is given. H. pylori in the stomach metabolize (break up) the urea and the resulting radioactive carbon portion of the urea is absorbed into the blood stream and ultimately exhaled in the breath. The exhaled breath is tested for radioactive carbon, indicating the H. pylori infection.

If u knw what is good for you, avoid pepper until you are sure there is no more ulcer. I have been managing ulcer for the past 6 years and i knw what eating peperish food did to me. The truth from my experience is that, avoiding what will provoke the ulcer is a starting point for the cure. I use to take pepper and orange very well and they nearly killed me thinking i have a terminal problem and since have stopped eating them and other kinds of food like eba, garri, spicy foods, carbonated drinks, alcoholic drinks, (my friends were surprised what hapenned) intact anything that has a form of acid, like beans, the by product is amino acid, so if u wanna eat beans, u per boil and throw away d water to reduce it. And importantly, study your system, avoid what u eat and it provokes your system, it shall be well.

i've been on pepper treatment for over a year , it sure cure mine. am not asking you for money and you dont have to take it . but it wont hurt to do your own research, just goggle[pepper in ulcer treatment] and read for your self.pepper is full of antioxidant and other healing nutrient. i start my day with a teaspoon of ground pepper [ata ijosi] in warm water with honey , before breakfast. i even bought pepper capsules in u.s.a they call it cayenne, sell it in their natural suppliment section at the chemist.

But I want it cured once and never have it again, so, I would try the cure tips you listed above. My only problem is not taking peppersoup o. That's my weak point. Fresh fish and bokoto peppersoup with Amarula wine drink, Kai! It's been difficult for me to stop that combination of faajisad. Have been managing it somehow. Thank for the tips..

its the alcohol the is setting you back, avoid alcohol and carbonated drinks,.

Could this ulcer be the reason for my slim nature? All my siblings look plompy and healthy but I'm not. Despite the large quality of food I devour on daily basis.
Someone in my neighbourhood told me about a simple ulcer remedy so I decided to share. you probably may have heard of it but I really want to know how possible and fast it can cure.
When you buy parp ie akamu, and mix with tetracyclin and drink.
Who has tried it before?

The thread is a wonder. Bow listen up, ulcer sufferers like me. When you feel the high, burning pain on your chest, then please try and take some milk if available or buy a tin of it and take it. The milk helps to line up the stomach wall so that acidity is reduced. God help us all. Amen
