Example-baby diaper has 4 sizes and to register it you will pay N250k for the first size and then N150k for the other sizes called variance. now if you medical devices has different sizes and flavour or variance, you will pay N250k first and then 150k for the rest.

Nairalanders, i also want to know if there is any NAFDAC officer in the house or anybody who has done registration of baby diaper with NAFDAC before. I want to know about the processes [number of packs/bags of diaper needed for testing and payments] involved.

Kingsmen, u will need the following documents to register your diaper successfully:
1. Power of Attorney( which will be notarised by a notary public in the country of manufacture)
2. Manufacture certificate
3. Free Sale Certificate
4. Certificate of Analysis for all sizes
5. Exclusive agreement which will be for 5 years( the nafdac certificate is for 5 years)
6. Letter of invitation
7. Import permit
8. Trademark registration with the Ministry of Commerce
Etc
For the payment, the mini size will be N250k and the other sizes will be N150k
All these documents will be authenticated by a Nigerian Embassy in the country of manufacture
Some company manufactures 4 or 3 sizes which are Mini, Midi, Maxi and Junior. For each size, you have to present the same packaging say Mini contains 70 pcs per bag and it has to be sealed as if you want to sell it to a consumer and must have the batch number, production date, expiry date and the correct address of the manufacturer.

And i have once been to thier office at oshodi to make enquiry. When i was been given thier procedure leaflets bros i fear, By the time u want to really complete all this things been required by them, Bros u will end up by spending more than half a milion or close to million. Though thier own registration fee is exactly the amount u posted here but the procedure no easy.

You could get an injunction from court authorizing you to destroy all other products that are counterfeits thereby making you sole importer/producer of said products
