Ijebu Ode News Written: Oriowo Date: 03:07:2014 From the agitations towards the long proposing of the creation of Ijebu State, the new boundary structure that emerged during Obasanjo's regime indicates that Ikorodu, Epe and some parts of Ajah go into Ijebu State. Part of Ikorodu, from SABO Ilepo Oba to Odogunyan, Ogijo etc will cease to be Lagos. Part of Ajah to Awoyaya will also be in Ijebu map. The Federal Boundary Adjustment Board approved this in 2002 to make the new state viable for sustainance. There shall be Toll Gate at the boundary between Ondo just after ORE for the state to generate more revenues, even though it is federal road. The long obstacle which militated against the success of the creation in 2002 has been resolved. This was the issue of Capital Base. The Akarigbo of Remo has consented to position the State Capital in Ijebu Ode against the insinuation of IKENNE by OBJ and Chief Mrs HID Awolowo to honour Awolowo. The realisation of Ijebu State will bring astronomical developments to the state. Ijebu has potentials both human and minerals to be enviable few years after its creation. All Ijebu Sons home and in diaspora had been motivated to begin preparation to join hand in the development of the new state. This is the moment we have been waiting for. The information reaching us proves that of all the proposing 18 additional states by the Confab, only Ijebu State is more unique and long overdue among the top 5 states that are planned by the National Assembly to be created before October 2016. We felicitate with all machineries who make this a reality. Interesting news!! I hope it will viable. However, who will own the proposed seaport, airport, and free-trade zone in Lekki? Ijebu kingdom of yore right there for you, and the ingenuity of the Ijebu's should be able to take it back to the old times! |

damas60:are ikorodu,epe ajah etc willing and ready to go with ijebu state? what is d situation of things now that d issue of creation of states is in apc/buhari's court? we must not rest on our oars but must ensure we do d needful to see to its creation as soon as possible. |
