I really don't know why I love to be informed. I think it just brings me fulfillment to know what's going on around me. Some people say I'm too inquisitive and I tell them that I was even worse as a child. I just want to know everything (provided it's a relevant information).

I've always wanted to know how much companies operating in Nigeria offer fresh graduates. I intended using my contacts to carry out the small research but I realized that alone might be insufficient. I've opted for a better option which is our lovely Nairaland. Yes! Lovely. By the time people start giving authentic and accurate information on this subject you will all understand that “lovely” is an understatement.

Kindly come in and list as many companies as you are sure of and state in front how much they offer entry level position after tax and pension i.e TAKE HOME

All values should be in Naira and should be monthly pay.

Diamond Bank : Around 230,000
GTB : Around 200,000
KPMG : Around 145,000
Union Bank. : Around 215,000
PZ Cussons. :Around 145,000(RDMi.e Sales)

For those that will give us Oil and Gas info, you can be kind enough to state how much is obtainable in the Upstream and Downstream.

Conspicuously, there will be arguments. I implore you all to correct others maturely.

Sit back, relax and Enjoy *lol*

Olutola88 and lalasticala should be given the award off the most informative poster on nairaland.

Back to the topic, I thought u are paid based or you duties. E.g a cashier's salary should be different from an accountant's salary.

Yes sir. I think there's always an average pay for Graduate trainees in most coys. Though the amount obtainable in the upstream is different from that of the downstream sector in the Oil & Gas industry.

Diamond bank actually pays N240,000 while KPMG pays around N120,000 for non-chartered entry trainees. Chartered ones definitely don't earn up to N145k.

PwC pays the highest in the Big 4s with a startup of N140K for nonchartered and you're promoted after 6months with a 20k increase.

EY and Deloitte should be paying same as KPMG. Not sure.

Make I comot for here. This is way out of my league.

Thank you. Information like we all know is power. A lot of people always want to know this pay information in order to know what decisions to take at critical times.

When I told a friend how much some commercial banks in Nigeria offer fresh graduates, the first thing she said was. “Are you serious? Why then have I been saying I can't work in a bank”. I have also seen some people that got disappointed after seeing the pay in their offer letters.

It is also useful for someone like me because a lot friends and some younger ones rely on me for a whole lot of information. I love that feeling of always being that mobile encyclopaedia, that very resourceful individual. I simply love to be relevant.

LOL. Last I heard UBA was paying N150k for entry level trainees and this was last year. Although I heard they just reviewed their salaries, along with some other banks, going into above N200k.

Note that this is for pofessional staff that passed through the various banks' training schools and are university graduates with the requirements.

I know three different graduates that got KPMG offer letters about 2 months ago ( non-chattered) and their offer letters read 171,000 before Pension(7.5%) and Tax. I don't think the take home will drop from 171K to 120K after tax and pension. Maybe the pay has been reviewed and you are not aware.

LOL. Trust me, I'll be aware. Take home is far less than that. Ask them what they were paid for September. Deloitte should also be paying more. Don't know about EY

It will. Try and calculate pension and tax on your own and you will see. FYI, they pay full tax according to Nig Law and Pension is now 8% employee, 10% employer. Therefore, pension is about 14k and PAYE is about 35k.

You forgot to mention that Diamond bank pay their ETs 80k until they are confirmed before they start earning as much.

Also, Deloitte is the highest paying of the big 4, very surprising right? Entry level was 150k after tax and they have 13th month as well.

Really surprising. I never took Deloitte that serious. Need to start asking how much they pay their experienced staff.
