gameboi:1. The three chords consist of a form of tension, balance and release (you don stylisly answer am for your question )2. i. F major ii. C major iii. C major hope I got it. errrm sorry for the late reply, na water pass garri. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 9:18pm On Oct 08, 2014 |
Karleb:Not all of them balance the tension created by the Bbmaj9 properly. That's why I was asking which of the three progressions Balances the tension. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 9:35pm On Oct 08, 2014 |
gameboi:ok. for one that I'm very very sure of is the first one, which is the f major, the rest? I just thought selecting an option is necessary. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 12:11am On Oct 09, 2014 |
Karleb:Correct. Fmajor balances the Bbmaj9. With Dmin another chord is needed to completely balance it. Same as Amin. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 10:39am On Oct 09, 2014 |
gameboi:Yes! ![]() Now that I know about tension, balance and release, shall we move to the next one? ![]() |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 11:11am On Oct 09, 2014 |
Karleb:sure? In what way do you see Chord Prgressions? |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 11:19am On Oct 09, 2014 |
gameboi:chord progression is are ways a keyboardist play chords which might be different or thesame to the way other keyboardist play the same chords. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 11:28am On Oct 09, 2014 |
Karleb:I don't really understand you. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 11:38am On Oct 09, 2014 |
gameboi:sorry about the typos. I mean it's a way you play a chord which might be thesame or different to the way I might play thesame chord/s. e.g You say subway, I say subway/underground. You say lift, I say lift/elevator. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 12:03pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
Karleb:okay. How do you typify them? Or what do you liken them to? |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 12:35pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
gameboi:My last comment is all I can categorically say I know about chord progression. All I know about them is that, they are chord that can be play in different ways but gives same result when heared by an average listiner. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 12:41pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
Karleb:okay |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 12:44pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
gameboi:does that mean I got it? |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 12:51pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
Karleb:No. I didn't want to give any more hint. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 12:56pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
gameboi:why? |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 1:08pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
Karleb:No reason precisely. You've given your answer already based on your Idea. |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 1:33pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
gameboi:So, are you explaning more about it or we are moving to the next one or you dey vex? |

| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 6:00pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
gameboi:This I know nothing about, care to explain? |
| Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 7:24pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
Karleb:Passing chords are like links between two or more chords. Some of them either give a calm and soothing sound while others give a rash sound. An instance is that Cmaj- Bbmaj9- Fmajor progression I posted earlier. The Bbmaj9 is actually a passing chord. |
